hey guys CAN YOU WRITE IN ENGLISH CHARACTERS USING THE KEYBOARD? PLEASE ANSWER! BECAUSE SO FAR NOONE HAS ANSWERED CHRISTOS RESCO PCM HIKEYBOARD ARE SOFT SOLUTIONS AVAILABLE OF COURSE THERE 2. MONDAY IM CALLING HP! CHUCKY YOU ARE RIGHT BUT IVE GOT ABB ALSO !! i have the ABB and I live in Sweden. I can use the hardware keyboard to type messages but only in English language. I have contact HP support several times and it's the worst support there is. The incompetent people working there even told me the hardware keyboard is only used for typing NUMBERS!!! LOL... They have no clue what they are talking about. Also HP wont release any other languages for this unit. And neither will there be any update to 6.1 or better. I'm not sure why HP has several models listed in the quickguide since all of them only work with English, Spanish and Italian XT9. I use an on screen keyboard hack for the swedish characters. You can do a seach on XDA for something called :"PHONEPAD". It has support for alot of diffrerent languages and it works with XT9 as well. You can always try the "block recognisition" and write your letters on the screen. But I agree it's bad you can not type in your native language with the hardware keyboard. I've used different QTEK / HTC units before and even though the OS were in English the hardware keyboard could be used to type in Swedish. So for me.. No more HP. The lack of support and not listening to customers request. |

1. Have you checked with the xT9 languages? Is Greek included as an option? 2. What's your opinion on using it to write SMS fast, using the HW keyboard? Can you elaborate more on that? This is a major reason I am leaning towards this phone - that's why I am not going for a full-touchscreen (with no HW keyboard) phone. (I am so used to my humble Samsung D600 keyboard that I learned to send SMS messages (using T9) whitout even looking at the phone... 3. In regard to the 3G/2G switching issue- those who had experienced the problem: have you manage to resolve it yet? (without choosing the type of network manually)? 4. Did anyone find a "final and functional" FW fix on the low-speaker-phone volume? (besides the Velcro suggestion... which was creative indeed... Thanks in advance Christos CY 1. The onlye XT9 languages available are : ENGLISH, SPANISH and ITALIAN. For now there is NOWAY to add more languages. HP has no plan for that. 2. Since my language is not supported by XT9 I only use "dialpad" on the screen wich supports T9 and swedish. There is support for more languages. Search for Dialpad on modaco or at xda-developers.com. 3. No comments. I use 3G all the time. and if I'm in areas with only 2G phone switches auto without problems. 4. Low speaker phone volume? I dont have that problem on my phone. |

Would it be possible to maybe make a CAB file for each language? Also noticed that not all languages are working. |

I was about to order the HP 614C but since I'm spending alot of time in my car I need the BT to work with good sounds. Now the HP is no longer an alternative for me. Sad since I though they made good handheld products. Now for the P750. It's already available in alot of webshops in Germany. I'm seriously considering buying P750 from there instead of waiting for it to arrive in Sweden. |

I've installed it on my Qtek 8310 and when using Skype all sound comes from the speakerphone except when using headset. I've had the same issue with my ETEN M600. Anyone else experiencing the same? |

Sorry for not answering sooner but just got home from a long business trip with my new phone. I found out that if I charge my phone with the USB cable connected to my laptop the phone charges 100% OK but if I use the main charger then it doesnt charge ... So I suspect that the main charger is broken and not the battery it self. Any recommendation for Ebay sellers that sell main power chargers with EU plug that means a plug that works in countries outside UK ? Thanx.. |

HI I've searched the forum and read all the earlier posts but I didnt find answer to my problems.. I just got my hands on a QTek 8310 with 1Gb MiniSD card. I've updated the ROM to 2.0.9.0 I've installed some software like Farcade, Agile Messenger and RJV Tonesetter.... The phone was fully charged and worked nice... Yesterday when I charged it over night with the main power charger the light was solid orange as it should be and in the morning it was green. When I unplugged the phone it took like 30min and the battery was on low again. I turned off the phone and charged it again. It took about 4h and the light on the phone was green again. I turned on the phone and once again it took less then 30min before I get a warning that the battery was low. So I made a hard reset. Charged the phone again for 4 hours and I have the same problem still. Is it a battery problem? If so where can I buy a new battery with the same capacity as original battery? Places within Europe is a plus. If it's not the battery what can i do or try? The phone is sadly outside warranty as it seems.. Suggestions and tips are more than welcome right now.. Thank you... |
