I have a kaiser tytn II (T-Mobile Vario 3) which I've flashed to the TLR 6.1 ROM
All seems to be working and the monitor.exe program is running but my panel says inactive! :-(

Support are looking into the problem but don't seem to have any joy
I've re-installed a few times, pulled my battery whilst on, etc

Any ideas ??

I would uninstall it asap becuase you're probably sending international txts. I had the exact same problem on a vario II with wm6 and ended up sending about 20 txts.

It looks like the registration doesn't work with wm6 or wm6.1

Well I thought I'd try and log onto the M-panel site today and it was indeed working again. Given that I'm obviously a masochist I thought I'd ask it to send the software to my phone rather than me download it to see if it worked any better. Rather oddly, I received the following message:

You have changed your selected phone model to one that does not currently qualify you for this particular Smart M:Panel.

M:Metrics would like to stay in touch with you and let you know when we do have a panel your new device is qualified for.

Your email address and phone model are listed below. Please confirm this information is correct and then click submit. We appreciate your patience and participation in our panel and will contact you soon with a special invitation to re-join.

My correct phone model and email address were listed so either there is yet another error or they have closed the panel down altogether, or perhaps to new applicants, which includes those who have simply updated their software. Still bobbins.

I got the same message a couple of weeks ago.

The one on the FAQs page gives you that message. Try the link on the home page after logging in.

I've installed it as well and have just emailed the support address because of multiple text messages. Not good!

I've reinstalled it aswell a few times becuase I've reflashed my phone. Even though the installation was ok my account was never activated and I was also sending texts to an 00142 number.

The texts are probably part of the account activation. If you are sending txts check to see if you account it activated, if its not you're not earning your £5.

I had an email back from support to say they don't know what the problem is and their engineers are looking into it.

meh, now they're saying the discounts do stack, so it'll be 12.50 for 18 months for Flext20 and WnW basic. Can't do better than that I reckon.

(but for information folks, the PAYG on 3 allows you to do the £5 a month internet add on)

I've just had a look at the SIM only PAYG and the internet add on is £2.50 a week. Is there a £5 option?

If I mainly used 3G internet, would O2s Online 25 with Web Bolt On be the best option to go with the Atom Life?

Whats O2s 3G coverage like compared to Tmobile?

Thanks

I've just noticed that on the top my default tmobile favorites page theres an "erotic tv" banner.
I didn't put it there, or selected any option for it, and I can't see a way of removing it.
Does anyone else have this?

Oh, and does anyone have any ideas on running two gps programs at once. I've read articles on CA and tomtom with a blue tooth gps but i've got an SPV M700 with internal gps and cannot seem to run two gps apps at the same time. [Navizon currently selects GPD1 and I am using nokias Smart2go - great free mapping prog. but no option to manually change com port. Also tried GPS Dash which says failed to open com port when Navizon is running]

Have a look at GpsGate at http://franson.com/gpsgate/ Theres a 2 week free trial of which near the end they might send you an email with 20% discount (I got an email).

I've just downloaded the latest CA3 beta for my VarioII. When running it, I get the message about needing a newer .NET framework.

Do I just need to download the one on the CamerAware requirements page?
Can I install .NET to storage card instead of the phone memory?

Thanks

If Tesco use O2, can you get points for finding the same cells using an O2 sim AND a Tesco sim?

Paul,

Any chance of putting the podcast as an enclosure on the rss feeds aswell as the links? We can then download the podcast within the RSS reader then.

Thanks

Does anyone know if it's possible to share an external BT GPS connection across two phones? I've got 3 phones (C500, Qtek8310 & HTC Touch), but only two GPS units.

I'm using a VarioII connected to a GPS and running GPSGate. Then connecting a c500 to the VarioII to get the GPS data. It was working but seems to have stopped now, maybe I've switched something off.

If you read the blog there is instructions on getting multiple smart phones to work together with one GPS. The cell mapping only works with one provider at once (unless you are roaming then it picks the nearest cell).

Smart phones are better at picking up cell towers than phone PDA's, apparently.

I've managed to link my old c500 to my vario ii, so now I'm finding TMobile and Vodaphone cells at the same time. I used a program call GPSGate but the demo only runs for 14 days.

Peter says there's a method somewhere in the Blogs, where? I can't find anything.

Suggestions anyone

Thanks
Anthony

If you join a group such as the modaco one, and then on your mobile in map mode do Menu|buddies|list then Menu|Search All pick someone and then show on map. The map will show you their name, last updated and mobile number.

Paul is ok, it doesn't show his number.

Something you should all be aware of is that it displays your mobile number on the map. I think its getting this from the Navizon details.

Name: Anthony Shackman
Device T-Mobile Vario 2
OS: WM5

Installed onto storage card and icon was placed in Programs not Programs/Games.

Started up and looked ok. Tried to Press the screen to start but didn't work, had to press action key instead.
Fishes started moving around but left trails, and the background remained water looking (nothing from camera). In fact moving the phone around didn't do anything. After 90 seconds game kept on going.

The only way I found to exit was presing in the top right corner of the screen where the 'X' should be. Then it went weird. The icons at the top (phone signal, volume, clock) weren't there. Everything that was white, invluding the backgroung went transparent and was replaced by the camera view. Checked in running programs and it still wasn't running. Had to reset phone to get it back to normal.

Coolsmartphone has the clip available.
http://www.coolsmartphone.com/index.php
You need to register before you can download though.

Thanks, just tried to download it from there on my Vario II but the name it saves it as is "dload.php" which can't be played.
Also tried to download the new pimped up Lada clip, and that one loads up into PIE as funny characters.

Is there an equivalent of right click and save as?

Thanks

Last week when it was on the news that a reporter was talking over Bushs speech, I though I'd try and find a video clip and watch it on my Vario II.

Did a search on google and found a page here that had a real media and a wmv file.

I knew that I couldn't view a real media so clicked on the wmv file. All that happens is the file gets loaded into PIE and displayed as funny characters. Tried in Opera and does the same.

So I tried to copy the URL and paste it into Media Player, BUT its impossible to paste a URL into media player!!

The only way of viewing a wmv from a website seems that you have to manually type the URL into media player. Is this correct??

Is there anyway of downloading it, or pasting the URL into media player?

Thanks
