HURRY-UP! There is free Qr-code and ++ software available at Jaxo Systems For free, and it works! I said "hurry", b/c they did open their free downloads only since last Tuesday and I have no idea on how long it will stand for. I fall on it thru Wikipedia... They provide both a PC generator, and SnapABar. SnapABar is a Java (J2ME) program for decoding QrCodes from shots of the mobile camera. SnapABar is downloadable for about 300 models. From my Nokia 5200, I was able to shot a QRcode picture that I generated on my PC -- using Jaxo's generator. This QRcode had more than 500 characters ![]() As well as it decoded most of the funny qrcodes I found at this japanese site . Cherry on the cake. Their second PC-based barcode generator allows you to add several kinds of hyper-links into the barcode picture. Well, it is a bit cumbersome to use Will any of their downloads work on a C500 does anyone know? None of the phone models on their downloads page (http://www.jaxo.com/download) seemed applicable. |

Can you access wap.o2.co.uk using those settings? Seems I can access everything else fine, but IE won't connect to that address at all. |

Have been using this excellent software for a while, and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get movies onto their phone. Very glad that work is still going on with it, nice one! |

I sync my C500 with both my work and home PCs with no problems at all. Just make sure that when you create the partnership with whichever PC you do second, you check the box that reads something like "allow this device to sync with more than one computer"! |

QUOTE(DomConway @ Dec 22 2005, 16:42) Cheers Martin, you are a star! Got my C500 up and running with O2 no problem thanks to those settings. Althought I've just noticed I can't access wap.o2.co.uk - it just sits there with the flag waving in the top-right of IE for a few moments, then nothing. Any ideas anyone? |

Check Martin's settings about half-way down the page here: http://www.modaco.com/content/forum/116826/http-www-modaco-com-index-php-showtopic-116826/ They seem to work fine for most people. |

I downloaded 0.7 from the author's site soon before it went down, so reckon that probably is the latest version. A decent alternative would be to use a PC-based SmartPhone registry editor, such as Smartione or Mobile Registry Editor |

QUOTE(maniac103 @ Nov 10 2005, 08:52) That seems to be a CPS problem then. Does CellProfileSwitcher.exe show up in SP TaskManager? I guess we better discuss this via PM as this seems not to be related with Automatic Keylock. Actually it was me being stupid, I do apologise. Movement protocol wasn't enabled in CPS  |

QUOTE(maniac103 @ Nov 8 2005, 10:02) I have now officially released v3.0 onto my web site. Have fun! @roma0803 I have included your localization fixes. I have changed only one thing: I have localized "Automatic Keylock" into Dutch (as it is not a real "name"). Nice work but one problem - if I set "Show CPS info" in the Screensaver menu, the screensaver always says "CPS: Not running" even when it is. Oh yeah and another very minor thing - in the Special Profiles menu, then "When charging...", "..enable Blutooth" now shows as "$..enable Bluetooth" Told you it was minor! |

QUOTE(chucky.egg @ Nov 2 2005, 17:38) If you listen to the quality of the "Videoed" phone calls I would suspect that it is just the mic picking up the earpiece. So... are you offering to develop an app? Not sure where you got that idea from - the only coding I know is basic HTML! I was just pointing out that I believe it is somehow possible, as the video recorder used to do it. |

QUOTE(chucky.egg @ Nov 2 2005, 10:34) Because the video recorder was picking up the background sounds, in this case the conversation. I don't know why I keep coming back to this one, I don't even use my C500 anymore. Count me out. Nice idea, but I suspect never going to happen Then surely someone could easily create another such app? The video recorder would pick up both sides of the conversation, so I'm not sure if it was just background sounds - ie the microphone wouldn't have been able to pick up what was coming out of the earpiece, so it must be possible somehow. |

QUOTE(JRC @ Nov 1 2005, 12:32) This software isn't possible on a SPV !! Because the main processor TI Omap has two cores : - an ARM 9 for the application - an ARM 7 for the GSM stack. And it's impossible to map these two cores, if a recorder application will existing, she will run on the ARM9 core but she can't to access at the ARM7 core ! How come we were able to record both sides of the conversation using video recorder on an earlier version of the C500 software then? |

QUOTE(b1ackb1rd @ Nov 1 2005, 22:36) I've got ROM update version; Operator: 4.2.1.4 which I downloaded from the Orange website a few days ago. The phone freezes on receipt of text and multimedia messages, rejects calls when I press accept and loses bluetooth settings once the paired device is switched off. When a message is received the phone freezes it's a battery-off job to reset, but once working again the new unopened message has gone ... bl**dy annoying or what? I am beginning to loath this phone, I even put my SIM in a Sendo yesterday cos I was so sick of it  I had a similar thing straight after upgrading. A hard reset sorted it and now it's working better than ever... |

Hi Paul Nice one for answering all these questions, it's much appreciated! I have a quick one - what's the keypad like to use, is it similar to the C500 one? I found the C550 one a nightmare to use as the keys were so small and close together, which is why I stuck with my C500. Cheers Dom |

QUOTE(awarner [MVP] @ Oct 27 2005, 17:00) Be aware when buying this as there is an automatic charge of £2.98 for an eSellerate Download Service (eDS) This in my opinion should be an optional service that you choose to add on rather than have to remove it at time of checkout. As listed below, the only service this additional charge seems only to offer something that the developer should be including free as pasrt of the product support. You're right, it's a bit of a skank really. Especially if it's an interactive London tube map you're after as you can download the official Java one for free (more info here) |
