Silent Hi, I have a Touch Pro and am unable to get TomTom Navigator 6 to work. It installs, but when I use the Com4 and 4800 settings, it never recognizes the GPS. Any suggestions? Thanks |

I have had my Dash for about 3 weeks, love it. It was able to connect to the internet and browse webpages fine the first 2 weeks. Over the last week everytime I try to access a webpage I receive the following error: "The remote party has ended this connection". I am connected, and have tired connecting to different access points ... none work ... all get the same error message. I tried rebooting, and I tried the "Clear Storage" under Accessories ... neither worked ... please help! My internet was working fine. I then called cingular and removed my internet data plan from the service. I thought I would be on a usage only charge. I then started receiving the same error message you mention. I called Cingular again and was told that without a data plan, there was no internet service. I added back the minimum plan and the problem went away. |

Can anyone recommend a good carkit for the Excalibur? I am looking for one that can be fitted, not one that plugs into the cigar lighter socket. I was thinking about the Nokia CK7W. Does anyone know if that will work? The Nokia CK7W does work with the s620. My wife has this car kit in her car and it was simple to pair my s620 to the kit. |

QUOTE(jenya @ Sep 12 2005, 10:37) Has anyone experienced poor signal from the SMT5600 on cingular network. I have noticed that my bars are never consistant even if standing in one place. I am about to conclude that Smartphones in general do not hold signal as well as other basic phones. I am seriously about to get rid of this phone its soo annoying to have intermittent connectivity... I have the same problem in the Chicago area. While making a call and standing still, the signal strength moves from 4 bars to 2 bars and back. |

Sometimes when placing a call, the phone seems slow to move to the Calling Screen. The keys don't work until the screen advances. If you're calling a Voice Mail system you can't log into the system. I'm surprised I haven't seen this posted. It occurs on three different phones. I don't know if it is other software running in the phone, although I've seen the problem occur when I've shut down all other programs. Is it a Windows Mobile problem or too slow of a processor? Any ideas? Thanks |

Here is the scenario. If I'm using a Bluetooth Headset or Car Kit and activate a call using voice tag you see the alert Screen regarding the voice tag and that seems to stay, rather than switching to the calling screen and displaying the name, number and timer for the call. Additionlly, none of the keys work (phone seems locked). Sometimes if I wait long enough it moves to the correct screen and I can use the keys again. That is always too long, as the person being called hangs up because they think nobody is there. At first I thought I had a bad phone, so I got a warranty replacement from Audiovox. The same thing happens with this one. I'm wondering if some other application I installed is causing the problem? I've also tried going to Resource Mgmt and stopping all all other applicaitons before making the call. It doesn't happen everytime, but frequently enough that it is frustrating. Has anyone experienced this problem? Any thoughts? Thanks |

Has anyone found a way (hack software or utility) to control the timing on the backlight for the dialpad? The 3 - 5 second time just doesn't work. Thanks |

QUOTE(seaninca @ Nov 18 2004, 01:37 AM) I just got my first smart phone, SMT 5600, 5 days ago. I start to get the hang of it little by little. Do you know if there is a software to do the following? The wireless phone provider has the current time at the particular location on the radio signal. My old Nokia 6200 was able to synchronize its clock to the provider's time. For example, set the time of Nokia 6200 to 9:00 when it was 14:00. Then, turn off the power. Next time the phone was turned on, the time was synchronized to the provider's or the correct time. I would like to do the same thing with the SMT 5600. I don't think SMT 5600 came with such capability. What do you think? Thanks for the help. I have experienced the same problem. I used to have a Palm Pilot Phone with Sprint that did automatially set the time based on the carrier's time and current location. This presents a problem with the calendar. If I book a lunch appt. at noon, the appt is at noon wherever I am. If I go from Chicago to LA and change the timezone on my phone manually, then the appt time changes to 10AM. This doesn't make any sense. |
