Good news, MorphGear now can run on Smartphone 2003!

This are the instructions for run MorphGear (originally designed for Pocket PC) in your Windows Mobile 2003 Smartphone Edition.

1. You need the version MorphGear 2.3.0.2 and SPHelper 1.1.
Go to http://www.spicypixel.com/xwiki/bin/view/MorphGear/Download and download the version 2.3.0.2 (Pocket PC devices with the Intel XScale processor)
Direct download: http://www.spicypixel.com/download/archive...etupPPC2003.exe
And the SNES module http
://www.spicypixel.com/download/archive...tupPPC2003.exe

SPHelper: http://www.bobsoft.com/sphelper/
SPHelper direct download: http://www.download.com/SPHelper/3000-1113...&tag=button

2. Now run MorphGearSetupPPC2003.exe, when your run the installation, a new file appear in the same folder, change the extension to .cab (DON'T TRY TO USE THE INSTALLATION FILE, YOU NEED THE CAB, NOT THE INSTALLATION).

3. Extract all the files inside of that cab in a new folder.

4. Open the file MORPHG~1.000 with notepad and rename the extracted files with the names in that text.
00CAB41C.001 to MorphGear.exe
MORPHE~1.002 to MorphEngine.dll
0DESTINY.003 to Destiny.dll
000MORPH.004 to Morph.dll
GSGETF~1.005 to gsgetfile.dll
MORPHG~1.006 to MorphGearLogo.bmp

5. Move that folder to your 2003 smartphone on any folder you want. And wait!, don't run MorphGear yet.

6. Now install SPHelper, go to Program Files and copy the file SPHelper.exe in the same folder of MorphGear (Copying that file is more easy use SPHelper with MorphGear)

7. Run SPHelper.exe, running SPHelper with the cursor or hidden, run MorphGear.exe, wait and when the top bar dissapear, hold '0' 2 secs, nothing happen, but after hold '0' move your keyboard cursor to the top and the top bar appear, move the cursor to the last icon on the right and press it.

*Until now, this are the best options FOR 2003 SMARTPHONES:
(I am using a Sagem My S-7 with WM2003SE and a clock of 208MHZ)
- Remember close all the other programs before run SPHelper and MorphGear, i recommend CeleTask 2.0.2120.4220 [Cost]).

Global Settings
Driver Auto (Never move)
Disable Full Screen ON
Enable Sound ON
Use Virtual Pad OFF
Custom File Dialog ON (Never move)
CPU Throttle OFF (Never move)
Thread Priority Normal (Never move)

SNES Settings
Screen Size Auto Scale
Image Smoothing ON (Optional, i think this dont slow the game)
Enable Sound ON
Emulate ON
Quality Low 11khz (Better quality can slow the game)
Frame Skip 8 (If your clock is bigger, you can try down the frame skip)
Auto Sync ON
Max ROM Size 8MB

Later i continue, "best wm2003 options", "bugs", "recommendations", etc.
- For GB, GBP, GBC emulation, use gnuboy.

To easy your life biggrin.gif

Below the two versions avaliable on Spicy Pixel website of MorphGear repacked from cab files with ALL MODULES ready to play smile.gif

Morph Gear 2.4.0.9 ( 1.1 MB )

Morph Gear 2.3.0.2 ( 969 KB )

I just released 1.0.4...

Lots of good fixes in this build:
1) Load/Save functions should work properly in all games (including Genesis).
2) More CPU bug fixes for the 68k should show up as better Genesis compatibility.
3) Fixed incorrect mapper # for NES game Pipe Dream.
4) Key definition now works when done from within a paused game.
5) Debug code removed from GameGear.

Basically all recently reported issues should be addressed.

Here's the link:

SmartGear Web Page

L.B.

L.B., thanks for this new version and bug fixes!!!

Below, Genesis tests results on my Mitac 8390 (MS Smarphone 2003 edition non-SE) with 220x176 resolution and a 200MHz ARM XScale PXA262.

Game: Alladin II

1) Video Size 100%: cuts two sides of all games unsure.gif

2) Video Size Fit2Win: two black borders (left and right) sad.gif

3) Video Size Fit2Win*: four black borders blink.gif

4) Video Size 75%: three black borders and screen cuts on right side dry.gif

5) Like rusmore said, my reference is PicoDrive 0.52, since all of the games i have work there huh.gif

Game: Worms

1) To work I have to enable sound (otherwise freezes my phone on SmartGear) and when I tried Fit2Win the game menus got fullscreen cool.gif but in the game, like in Alladin II, two black borders (left and right) sad.gif

In PicoDrive I can select between 3 and 6 keys, can u implement this on smartgear? wink.gif

Also, it seems there is the clicking/popping sound on SmartGear that gets worse when I enable 16-bits ohmy.gif and minimizes when I set 44Khz Mono 8-bits.

And Last, where I can find a documentation about the settings in Smart Gear?

Thanks again for your excellent work to bring all this games back to us biggrin.gif

ebcoelho

QUOTE(scar45 @ Jul 21 2005, 11:07)
Hey guys,

Just wanted to make a quick post to let you know that I've updated my homescreen theme (in the TOP 5 Downloaded for "People") to use the free Oxios Today plugin. I have also realigned some modules and fixed the problem that some people were having with the text size set to "13.8". I really worked my ass off on this theme (total time) and I would really appreciate your feedback. This is my first smartphone theme ever (well, ok, NOT including my DooM 3 test homescreen). Also included in the .zip file are xBar/SmartMonitor/Aidem Caller ID skins you can use.

Let me know what you guys think! Thanks!

I'm in Dallas Texas and I have a Mitac 8390.  I'm not able to get my phone to come on.  The battery went dead and I fully recharged it until the green light came on.  but now the phone won't turn on.  The face clock looks to be working, but it displays the same time all the time.  Is there any service centers or tech help I can get in the US.

And today after a reboot because of action button problem the phone doesn't boot correctly, it stop for a while on phone camera logo then last calls menu is shown and start menu doesn't work anymore. I tried more than 5 reboots and nothing...if anyone know how to fix this bug plz tell me. Sorry for my poor english .
