Hey Paul, Im on AT&T in the states which uses UMTS1900. I've seen conflicting spec sheets all over the net on which UMTS bands the S730 supports, some say UMTS 850/1900/2100 but the HTC site says UMTS 2100 only. Do you have any way to confirm which bands are supported, and if the S730 will do 3G on US AT&T? |

I set an alarm at 8:30 one day, and have since changed it to other times. Even when I shut the alarm off completely, the 8:30 alarm still comes on every day. Is there some other place to see a list of all alarms/reminders set to generate? Or could someone suggest a place in the registry where I might find this phantom alarm? I dont want to hard reset but this is driving me nuts. |

Cell Profile Switcher does not seem to be working. It installs fine and detects nearby cells, but no switching occurs when moving to/leaving any groups as it does in WM5. Anyone know of a good replacement that works in WM6? |

Followup reply for future searchers: I went through literally every option available on the page referenced above, including using DAMO or the outlook connector to synch Outlook and then update via Activesync. I have to say all the solutions are very buggy at best, but I found the best option to be CompanionLink if you dont need to synch your email like me. I like how it integrates with Activesync to do the updates. Works well for me... |

Kinda disappointed in the 200MhZ processor. Can't HTC splurge a little and go with 300 like the mteor? I shudder to think of the portrait to landscape switching speed when jetisoning the keyboard. Whats the deal with HTC's 3G? Is it all going to be standard 2100MHZ UMTS, or is HTC building phones with support for 850/1900/2100 for us USA folks on Cingular and T-Mo? |

What are my options as far as Lotus Notes synchronization with WM5? I am only interested in synchronizing my Calendar, not contacts or email, and something freeware would definitely be best. Can anyone point me in the right direction? |

I have the US t-mobile SDA. I tried removing all the keys and values under HKLM>System>Startup/Shutdown, i got the shudown image and sound to stop, but the startup screen and sound is still there. Any ideas how to remove these? |

Is there a way to change the WM5 bootup (and shutdown) screens? I have a US T-Mobile SDA and Im trying to remove the t-mobile branding. Also, there are two jingles that play when the phone is started and shut down. Is there a way to remove those? On the typhoon you could remove the startup screen by modifying the key at: HKLM>Software>Microsoft>Splashscreen but that key is gone in WM5. |

This is fantastic. Now if only PIE would let you rotate the screen to landscape in smartphone. Or at least Opera for that matter! |

THE $139 offer is offered exclusively through t-mobiles retentions department for a 2 year contract only. $249 for a 1 year contract. (add $100 for the MDA to both prices) These prices also do not include the hassle of submitting/waiting for a rebate. You can only talk to retentions if you are currently out of contract on a t-mobile plan. Dial 611, and say "i want to cancel my service", you will be transferred there immediately. |

I have an Audiovox SMT5600 and just got a cardo scala 500 bluetooth headset. Whenever I am out of service and have the headset connected, I hear a beep every 1-2 seconds. Its very annoying when Im trying to listen to music through the headset. Anyone know how to disable it? Thanks |

Great, found it. So is there a certain headset people have had better luck with? I want something that will be loud enough (especially in the car) with my smt5600, good battery life and good range. Ive been looking at the MOTO HS820, Jabra BT150, and the Logitech Mobile Freedom and Traveller. Anyone have a preference between these? Thanks... |

you may have to hard reset. That generally fixes anything. As for a less destructive alternative, I personally havent heard of the problem. QUOTE(mmmaiki @ Dec 20 2005, 11:49) Using an Audiovox SMT-5600, originally locked to ATT Wireless, now application and carrier unlocked, using on T-Mobile USA. The time display on the Today Screen is now stuck at 4:49 PM. It doesn't change. It's been stuck there for about a day. Of course, I synced via ActiveSync, which I have set to update the mobile device to system time. (The time is correct on my desktop computer.) That didn't work, the time on the Today screen is still always 4:49. I then went to Start Menu (on the SMT5600), Settings, Time/Date. Surprisingly, the correct time appeared there. The system time on the phone is correct! But the time on the Today Screen is stuck at 4:49 PM. I went to Home Screen in Settings, and tried changing to different home screens. But no matter to which I changed to, the time that appears on the screen is always 4:49 PM. What could be causing this weird bug? Why is the time on the Today screen always stuck at 4:49 PM, no matter which home screen I use, while the system time is actually correct? How can I fix this strange problem? |

I am wondering if it is possible to play mp3s through windows media on an SMT5600 through one of the many available bluetooth headsets. - If so, will any bluetooth headset work or are there specific models folks have had luck with? - What about the sound quality? I imagine its not as good as using mini-plug headphones, but is it decent (and loud enough?) - Finally, is there a specific headset anyone can recommend with good talk time and battery life? Thanks, aLfer |

gaplayer, thanks for the response. Yeah, I could do that, the problem however is getting my phone to actually connect using port 10000 or whatever instead of 80 or 443. As far as I can tell, there is no way to try and make it connect to another port QUOTE(gaplayer26 @ Jan 9 2005, 05:10) Hi, welcome to the board Are you using NAT? If so, you could find a port that your ISP is not blocking and and re-direct that to the exchange box on port 443 (or 80). Eg. Internet > Port 10000 > Your Router (10000 External > 443 Internal). You can however, change the listening ports in IIS anyway... IMHO, I'd change my ISP or get them to allow those ports... HTH |

Hello, Im new to the forum but I hope someone here can help me. I am using activesync on my HTC Typhoon to try and sync my calendar, contacts, and email wirelessly. I set up a windows 2003 server with exchange 2003 and its working great. The problem is, my ISP blocks both ports 80 and 443. After trying several configurations I cannot get activesync to work on any alternate port other than 80 or 443. (Tried server:port with no success, it still tries to connect on 80 or 443 depending on my ssl setting) Does anyone know how I can get it to connect on a different port? Or, does anyone know of an alternative to using exchange to sync wirelessly? Thanks, Josh |
