sounds like the deivce might have lost its association to the network and since it isnt broadcasting therefore cant connect. (not sure if hard reset / power loss might cause the network setting to be lost - wouldnt have thought so but hopefully someone with (proper!) knowledge might be able to confirm!?!?) |

Hi All, I have had a google for info on this Question but can’t seem to find much, certainly not very formal documentation or examples anyway. I therefore hope someone (developer / T.A or such) can point me in the right direction! I have the following (Windows Mobile) PDA development requirement. In a nutshell, I want to create a browser-based application [not custom-UI] which writes to a local (SQL Server Mobile edition) database and then sends the information as and when a GPRS connection is available. Could some kind soul tell me if this is possible? I know on a standard PC this would be tricky for security reasons (i.e. browser being sand-boxed) but hopefully there is an approach to allow a browser to run off local cached web pages and save to its local file-system (db) Looking forward to any info! Thanks, Dan |

Just to say: Expansys now have a free wm6 upgrade for the 501 -- has anyone tried it and got any comments on how it went and how the device performs post-upgrade etc? Cheers, dan |

for the money they have been selling for recently, this is such a bargain for wm5 and DAB regardless of the outgoing tv capability, as long as you can live with the size and what some regards as fugly design... |

Sorry for the silliness hehe cool For all your ROM hacking help I can definitely recommend www.xda-developers.com as one of the best forums for that kind of thing. As for the legal uptake I am not sure but I do it anyway muhaha |

i think its a shame but i guess with the ratification by the EU commission of DVB-H and really poor sales the writing was on the wall. tbh, i never use the tv functionality on mine, the radio however is excellent. i wonder (and hope!) a replacement app for just the dab radio gets home-brewed (i.e. dropping the UI of the redundant TV stuff)... |

ok, apologies up front but i feel the need to ask some very fundamental questions that i am struggling to find from a search [ probly me searching badly too ;-) ] 1. what is the link between Rom and O.S and Radio - are they one and the same or can you update either independently? 2. What happens when you hard reset? Is it the Rom being 're-deployed' to the device? 3. i have a Lobby 700tv, where is the Dab receiver (tv/radio) program stored, is it part of the Rom, part of the O.S or just an additional program??? I know I have to be careful about Rom discussions i was just interested to know some really basic info! In an ideal world I would love to get wm6 on my lobster but obviously retain the Dab functionality, it seems this is a total no-go?? Sorry for all the very basic questions but I am very keen to get some knowledge and didnt know how to get over the initial stupidity hurdles!!! cheers, dan |
