Can anyone at least acknowledge if this happens on other diamonds or if it's just me?

Connect to wifi, then switch off 3G/GPRS, now send/receive your emails - does it work without having to connect back to 3G/GPRS?

I've just got a HTC Diamond, I've got wifi set up on it and it works fine for accessing websites, Youtube, weather information, etc., but when I send/recieve emails (I've got it set up for Hotmail) it always ignores the wifi and goes through 3G/GPRS instead. I can access the Hotmail website directly through wifi so there isn't a problem with the wifi connection, so why should it insist on connecting this way when going through the mail tab?

I've got an Orange SPV M700 and I pay for off-peak unlimited web browsing. Is there any way that I can set it to only allow me access to 3G & GPRS during off-peak time periods? I've had hefty bills in the past and I'm convinced that I didn't deliberately connect, but who am I to argue with Orange?!

Also does anyone know if there is software available to turn my phone into a wifi router for 3G/GPRS internet? If so then would the performance be much different to just having a bluetooth connection from the laptop to a phone and using it as a modem?

Thanks smile.gif

I called upgrades to see what I could get out of them, I've got a C600 at the moment. They first of all said that it would cost me £100 to upgrade, so I laughed and said that it was free for new customers on their website, not fair, etc.! The guy then told me that my best bet was to threaten to cancel - yes I know that's common knowledge but I was shocked that they have effectively encouraged me to do it! Fair play to the nice chap on their desk, he offered me the phone for free so long as I went onto an 18 month contract for £35/month. It was better than my current contract for the same money, although I'd have preferred just a 12 month one. Thinking back maybe I could have argued my point and got a cheaper contract, but I was desperate to get my hands on the phone and I was overcome with weakness so I went for it! It arrives on monday smile.gif

QUOTE(mini_man @ May 13 2006, 11:10) *
I had this problem as well but then I used a tweak on the forum and it all seemed to be fixed, Sending and Receiving.

Just change this registry edit

Open this

HKLM\Software\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\ReservedSpace

and then change the value from 4132 to 1024.

This basically lowers the minimum memory to send and recieve an MMS.

Oh yeh and im not certain this will work on a C550 as it was designed for a C600/Tornado.

Sorry to sound stupid, but how to I edit the registry on the C600? Do I need to install some software?

Also I'm not sure it is because of a lack of memory, as I've rebooted the phone and still get the same error - surely this would clear everything from memory...?

My C600 has stopped sending or recieving any MMS messages since the middle of April. Messages I try to send just sit in Outbox, messages people send me go to my inbox, but I can't see the message, only info on who it's from and names of any attachments.
When I do send/recieve I get a couple of errors:

"Unable to receive your message(s). Your message(s) notification(s) will remain in the Inbox."

and

"There is not enough free space for message downloading. Please free up some space and try again."

I've cleared all my previous MMS messages to clear some space but it doesn't help. I've hardly got any files stored on the phone's internal memory as it's mostly on my storage card instead.

Any ideas?

Also the other day my phone didn't recieve any SMS messages for a few hours. I eventually rebooted as it seemed odd that I wasn't recieving any texts, and then they all arrived immediately after that. That's not so much of an issue as I know it can be fixed, but it's very annoying all the same. The MMS issue is of concern though as I haven't found any sort of fix for it yet. Good old Microsoft Windows eh?!!!

I'm currently on a £35/month contract which ends up costing me around £50-£55 a month all together. I called upgrades and they offered me a free upgrade from C500 to C600 but I wanted to change to the new Direct plan (100xnet minutes & 500 texts for £25) and they would only let me have that on an 18 month contract. I moaned and told them I would cancel and go PAYG for 3 months and then start a new contract. She didn't seem too bothered about how frustrated I was.

A friend suggested I call retentions and lo and behold they offered me the 12 month contract straight away. The only thing they couldn't match was the £50 free talk time which new customers get - he said there was nothing he could do about that. He was very helpful anyway and I should hopefully get the new phone on monday or tuesday.

Apologies if I'm being a bit thick here, but what do I do with the files once they are downloaded?!

This is the only spreadsheet available for smartphones? MS should really pull their finger out!
Can anyone understand any of that mobysmart forum and see if he says anything about how he's getting on with development? I'd like to get a SPV C500 but I can't justify getting rid of my Dell Axim unless there's some sort of spreadsheet I can use.

Hi guys, apologies if this had already been discussed. I'm new to Smartphones, I'm thinking of buying an Orange SPV C500 and I'd like to have some sort of Word and Excel software on it. I've searched loads of websites and I can't seem to find anything at all. I appreciate that it would have to be very cut down versions from the ones that get bundled with full PDAs, but I'd love something to keep track of my finances and draft documents while I'm away from my PC. Is there anything out there?
