A little bit further down your "Profile" page from the signature stuff, there are a couple of radio buttons for "Always allow BBCode" and "Always allow HTML".
If you toggle the HTML button to "on", then revisit your 'Profile' page, the bit near the signature panel will now read "HTML is ON". |

I use www.supanames.co.uk
Their value host and v/h pro do PHP and MySQL - you would have to check on ASP though. Seem quite cheap to me, and I've never had any customer service issues with them (unlike one&one, but that's another story!) Stu. |

Might be a bit of a long shot, but try checking out your BIOS settings. Probably something like 'F2' or 'DEL' as the machine powers up to get into BIOS. Try exploring any options for your optical drive on your secondary IDE channel. It may be that DMA is disabled in the BIOS, resulting in it never being available for windows to use (enforcing PIO mode)

Cause - every time a background program makes changes to the hard drive, the defrag starts again.
Solution - start the computer in safe mode by hitting F8 as it boots, choose 'safe mode' from the boot menu, then run the defragmenter program from safe mode. Stu |

Dr Who's comment above is spot-on. Most computer TV-out sockets will output a luminance / chrominance signal (YC, or YUV). Most tellys on the other hand expect an RGB input signal on their SCART sockets or RCA connectors. Try exploring the on-screen menus on your TV, to see if you can change the input so that it expects a YUV signal. Unfortunately, many cheaper TVs are simply not capable of displaying the required signal format. Luminance / chrominance was originally brought in to provide backwards compatibility with old black & white sets - you could still see a picture in black & white even if you didn't own a colour set!

I had a similar problem - I was syncing my contacts to both my home and my work PC. Despite going through my bluetooth settings time and time again, I could never get the phone to sync over bluetooth.
Found out I could only activesync my inbox if there was a single partnership on the phone. Deleted the partnership with my home PC, and hey presto - everything worked! Activesync the lot (including my work email and folders) over bluetooth no problem. The only irritation - you have to choose to connect via bluetooth from the phone, and it doesn't automatically pick up again if you move out of range and then back in range again. Can't wait for the MPX with wi-fi !! |

Basic differences between home and professional...
Professional can do: 1. File encryption or compression. Files can be encrypted or compressed on-the-fly by windows. 2. Multilingual interface. Change the interface if english isn't your native language. 3. Enhanced (= more complicated!) file & folder security. With the right preparation, you can set extremely fine control over users' permissions to access different data. 4. Can join a domain-based network. Home edition can only join a workgroup (peer to peer windows network). If you don't need any of these four, stick with Home edition. Stu |

Looking at your first screenshot, it seems as though your computer is unable to fetch an IP address from the router. Yet you say the other PCs on the network can access the internet ok?? Maybe they've still got a valid IP address from your router, yet your PC hasn't??
First suggestion - do a hard reset of your router. Most routers are flashed by the user with the ISP details - username, password, etc. Doing a hard reset will put all of the other settings back to the factory defaults, but you may need to reprogram your ISP details into it afterwards (depending on the router). Make sure you've got them available before you press the reset button!! Next step - reboot each of the PCs in turn, and see if basic network connectivity is restored. XP machines will grab an IP address from a DHCP server such as a router by default (unless you've messed with the settings on the PC and given it a static IP). Some useful commands: go to accessories --> command prompt, and try pinging the router. Your router will probably have an address like 192.168.0.1 or 10.0.0.1 - check the router documentation. The ping command will either tell you the pings were received and echoed back (replies received in a few milliseconds), or the pings were lost due to a connection or other problem (timed out with no reply). Next useful command - from the command prompt, type "ipconfig /release" without the quotes - this will reset your IP address to zeroes. Then type "ipconfig /renew" without the quotes - this will attempt to grab an IP address from the DHCP server (ie the router). If this step is successful, you should get an IP address looking like 192.168.0.x or 10.0.0.x depending on your router. If you get an IP address looking like 169.254.x.y, then your PC hasn't been able to find a DHCP server (ie hasn't found the router), and has generated its own IP address automatically. Start looking at the router or your network cables. Once you've proved the basic network connectivity (using ping etc), you can move to checking internet explorer. Have a look in 'Tools > internet options > connections', or 'network places > view network connections' and see if there's anything different about the PC you're having the problems with. Hope this helps, Stu. |

Hi Mike,
just curious - what sort of system are you running? What about everyone else? Let's see some specs! (Mine's just a 1GHz celeron, but it's on every evening and most of the weekend. Tweaking my profile to allow 10GB of storage seems to have helped my points a bit though!) Stu. |

Hi,
That's precisely the problem I had in this thread Didn't manage to figure out the answer myself - ended up changing my colour scheme because of it! The thread lists some of the COLOR_ attributes I've already tried though. |

Yes, the calendar plugin will show the NEXT appointment in your schedule. If the appointment happens to be today, it will display the time and subject only. If the appointment is another day, it will show the time, DATE and subject. Clicking through the plugin however will take you to today's agenda (even if it's empty!). Presumably it's to allow you to continue entering reminders for the remainder of today.
Hope this helps |

Cheers Stu,
i'll keep the cab file on my card for when i'm out and about. Also tried the remote display from power tools - excellent! I think that'll be the app of choice when i'm near my own desktop. Stu2 |

![]() File Name :: Full Exposure Author :: Stuart P Category :: People Description :: Features: time/date/carrier; message count; appointments; most recently used; your own choice of wallpaper Install: Unzip and copy the xml file, the fullxmru.jpg, and any suitable background jpeg to IPSMApplication DataHome. Comments: I've always admired the home screens by Kleinweder. I wanted a similar layout of my own, but without having to specially process each background with an art package. My layout keeps to the right hand side of the screen, leaving the left entirely free to show off your favourite beach babe. And so the ladies don't feel left out, I've done a special 'girlie version' (with a picture of me at the seaside  ) Updated Thu, Jan 20 2005 3:38 pm View File |

What's everyone using for screenshots nowadays?
I used to use SmartSS on my original spiv, but it doesn't seem to work on the E200. Something to do with the renaming of IPSM perhaps? Stu |
