Have you tried opening and closing the keyboard? There is a refresh issue that is solved when you switch from portrait mode to landscape and back to portrait.

the problem is, i cant install anything in my orange spv-e650. sad.gif tried it twice, even the the app unlocking from francetelecom, didnt work. i always end up hard-resetting the phone.

if i delete the settings->connections->gprs->orange internet, is it easy to reenable/add it later? i dont want to get rid of it permanently cause i might need it.

If you want to do it that way, it's easier to:

- Under Connections, GPRS: create a new (fake) GPRS connection that will not work. Name it "No GPRS"

- Go to Connections, Menu/Advanced and set your "Internet Connection" to "No GPRS". Do not use "Automatic" or your "Orange Internet"

- Any time you want GPRS, go to Connections, Menu/Advanced and set your "Internet Connection" back to "Orange Internet".

Paul, any chance of adding to MoDaCo CardCache the option to move "Inbox" to Storage Card?

Only a coulpe of registry settings are required,

[HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE\System\Inbox\Settings]
"PropertyPath"="\Storage Card\Inbox"
"AttachPath"="\Storage Card\Inbox\Attachments"

Sounds fiddly, is there an way to do it with the cable?

Brian

Pretty easy under WinXP and no need for a modem driver.

On S710 go to Internet Sharing (on e650 it's Accessories/Internet Sharing)

Select 'USB' and your GPRS network, then press "connect" (there's also the Bluetooth option)

You will see 'check your USB connection'

Now connect your Mobile to your PC via USB.

On your PC, a new "Local Area Connection" icon will appear briefly, trying to establish the connection. It will succeed and hide itself. You can always view it if you go to "Network Connections". You will see that the device name is "Windows Mobile-based Internet Sharing Device"

That's it! You should now be on the 'net smile.gif

I just upgraded my ActiveSync to 4.5 and started synchronizing my E650 for the first time. Problem is, there is no sync option for notes. I can only sync calendar, email, tasks, contacts but no notes. My MDA (my old phone) can sync notes. Is that a limitation of E650 or the Windows Mobile Standard phones?

It's one of those WM issues since the first version. Don't know why Microsoft let this feature out and never learned from their mistakes. Notes are really really important. Use SmartphoneNotes or PhatNotes (3rd party apps) that do the job fine.

BTW, at some rare occasions you might experience some "screen refresh" issues. For example you're in an app, you press Home and the Homescreen never shows up. Or you press the Quick list and it never shows up. Don't know why it's happening, but if you open-close the QUERTY, the portrait <> landscape switch fixes this issue.

Problem came back again.....I'm wondering if formatting the memory card will help? How does one do that on the VOX? Also will this be fixable with ROM update?

Use SKTOOLS, go to "Maintenance", run the "Notification Queue" tool, go to Action > Mark Duplicates and then "Delete marked". This should solve the problem.

yes we did, on xda-developers.
i didnt install auto keylock

i did install: facade, fizz traveller, fizz weather, pocket player, papyrus, smartphone notes, smarttweaker, resco explorer and zagat.

i wonder if its one of those programs causing this issue.

i did notice that sometimes it mutes and sometimes it doesnt, its hit or miss every time i get a call.

We have in common: fizz traveller and resco explorer. If it's an app that's causing the problem, it must be one of those two. But i have the feeling it's a bug of the O/S.

when i get a call and i try to mute the ringer by pushing the volume button up or down, it wont work and it will keep on ringing until i pick up or hit ignore.

after a soft reset it stops happening but it starts again after a few hours.

is anyone else experiencing this problem?

is there a specific program that is causing this?

thanks

It has been noted by some that this happened after installing Auto-keylock (a nice freeware from Maniac that locks your keyboard after a given timeout). This may be true or it may be circumstantial. have you installed this freeware? I am experiencing the same problem and i have installed it.

Edit - I guess you haven't, we talked about it in another forum laugh.gif

My setup works with the following adjustments:

ActiveSync: Go to menu File>Connection settings and set "This computer is connected" to "The Internet". "Automatic" did not work.

Mobile: Go to Settings > Connections, click on Menu > Advanced and set Internet Connection to: Automatic. This enables selecting between pass-through (Activesync) and GPRS

Mobile: Go to ActiveSync > Menu > Connections (5) and select to enable syncronization via USB

Finally to get internet explorer to work by pass-through,

Mobile: Go to Internet Explorer, Menu > Tools (9) > Settings (3) > Connections, check on auto and select "The Internet" as network.

Ι have tried Voipbuster and a local voip provider without success. It seems to pass registration (since i get "you have registered from another location" on my PC voip client) but it keeps on searching and i cannot make/receive calls.

I have customized both _setup.xml and ipdialplan.xml. Also enabled port 5060 on my registry.

Keep walking....

It's missing the tag, see example below:

QUOTE(skazz @ May 3 2007, 00:01) *
Hi all,

I just tried the trial versions of both SPB GPRS monitor and Efficasoft GPRS monitor on my E650.

The SPB one (v1.1) lacked working soft menu buttons on most dialogs and was unuseable. The Efficasoft one (v3.51) seemed ok, but no matter which connection I selected it wouldn't show any GPRS data transfer during my testing (the selection being: orange world, orange mms, orange wap, internet access (which should be my WLAN connection I guess)). I tested orange world and random internet and messenger connection, and wlan was definitely off during testing.

Anyone know if the problem is linked to WM6, or is it me doing something stupid?

For Efficasoft download the special version found here. Works perfectly...

This reboot issue has happened twice to my S710. The phone reboots, shows the 'windows mobile' screen, ther reboots and reboots... It seems to be related with the MicroSD. I remove the MicroSD and then the phone boots OK. It might be worth checking out before you hard-reset.

Jeyo Mobile Companion 1.1

Doesn't seem to be able to start the remote agent on the phone. Tried this on an app unlocked device too, still the same problem. I'm guessing they've changed the way SMS's are managed in WM6 and the agent chokes.

Shame, as I like to start backing up my texts.

Jeyo works almost OK here. I get an error on the device, but then i click OK and most of Jeyo's features work. I can't get task manager to show the processes but SMS, Contacts, History etc are OK.

I think so, too. Can you try to shut down the application and run my program and see if it works? It really seems that there can only be one keyboard hook at one time - but I need one wink.gif

Yep it's the KeySMS utility alright. If i terminate it, your program works great. If i run KeySMS after your program, it seems to be running and i get no error, but it does not function as expected tongue.gif. If i terminate your program, KeySMS starts functioning. Then i run your program again, and i get the keyboard hook error. So much for that.

QUOTE(maniac103 @ Apr 21 2005, 13:06)
Hmmm, thats very strange. I didn't change anything to the keyboard hook initialization

My mistake, seems i did't test as much as i should. For some reason the 1.51 started before KeySMS, so it didn't throw up the error, but KeySMS would not function. I've replicated this down to 1.4, Automatic Keylock & KeySMS hate each other's guts. It's either one or the other. I think i'll keep the Keylock though because i keep accidentally calling my pals. biggrin.gif

Oh, by the way! I noticed that when the smartphone is charging, there's no automatic keylock. Shouldn't this be an option? I'd probably want my smartphone to lock in any case. Also, while we're at it, one other thing i miss is the ability to keep my backlight on when the smartphone is on external power. Since you already read this state, you could extend Automatic Keylock to offer this functionality. Hope i'm not asking too much [-X

The keyboard hook problem only occurs with 1.52. Previous versions work if you reboot after installation.

Here's a list of processes running on my smartphone (Qtek 8010):

\Windows\nk.exe
\Windows\filesys.exe
\Windows\device.exe
\Windows\connmgr.exe
\Windows\gwes.exe
\Windows\telshell.exe
\Windows\SmsClassZero.exe
\Windows\srvtrust.exe
\Windows\services.exe
\Windows\home.exe
\Windows\STK.exe
\Windows\cdial.exe
\Storage\Program Files\Autokeylock\Keylock.exe
\Windows\cprog.exe
\Windows\IA_Caller_ID.exe
\Windows\BTHIcon.exe
\Storage\Windows\Startup\CommLoader.exe
\Windows\KeySMS.exe
\Storage\Program Files\SPGTC\spgm.exe
\Windows\rapisrv.exe
\Windows\repllog.exe
\Windows\rnaapp.exe
\Windows\udp2tcp.exe
\Windows\CommMan.exe

There's an app running that converts unicode characters to capital, when you type in a SMS message. This is done so that you avoid the SMS being split in two messages when you use over 80 unicode characters. I think it is \Windows\KeySMS.exe . My guess is that it also hooks to the keyboard.

Versions up to 1.51 worked great, version 1.52 gives an 'Error creating Keyboard hook. Program is closed'.
