Just to advise, Soti Pocket Controller Pro is not fully WM6 compatible. Works ok for some devices, not all.

Was in the midst of purchasing a licence, tried it first and found you are unable to type using your pc/laptop's keyboard, all other functions seem to work. Seems its an issue with Windows Mobile architecture itself, this is the response I got, as nothing is listed on their site to advise of these issues in a faq etc.

CODE
Thank you for your E-Mail.

Your issue may be similar to the previously reported issue for the T-Mobile Dash/HTC S620 device listed below.

Regarding the issues with the T-Mobile Dash/HTC S620:

This issue has been reported to us recently with the upgrade of windows mobile 5 to windows mobile 6. On Smartphone devices non standard keyboard drivers are used and thus we need to customize this for each device.  Due to the nature of this issue we are unable to resolve this and have reached out to the manufacturer to help us with this issue.  We are working with the engineers from the manufacturer of the device but are at the mercy of them to address this issue.  We are currently waiting on them so that this issue can be resolved.  When a solution becomes available it will posted on our website.

Just got one from work today, phone feels a bit heavy, compared to its predecessor XDA Graphite (o2's replacement).

The keypad on the graphite was easier to use as the keys were bigger, they have squeezed in the pick up/end call buttons on the keypad.

On boot up there is 18.63MB (with nothing installed) so not sure if this is also affected like the HTC S730 are with memory being eaten by the memory monster, await HTC to resolve...

Time to play and customize with my preferred apps.

I presume business is different then, as we just received 12 E650's a few days ago.

Yep. I would 100% say so.

Just rang Orange retensions again, they still saying its discontinued, asked if they know what will replace it, they have no idea. Im assuming it will be the HTC s730 as it seems the only logical replacment.

I can confirm o2 will be doing the HTC S730 shortly, we have our corparate contract with them, they advised us today, just awaiting details, likely to be around feb/march.

who knows...too many phones...too many choices...my head hurts sad.gif

Did anyone know the SPV e650 has now been discontinued by Orange? ohmy.gif

Yesterday I rang Orange Retentions, they advised its just out of stock, today I rang, they advise its discontinued. Although it’s not been on their website since this week.

Did a Google.. Number of sites report its discontinued.

http://shop.3g.co.uk/spv-e650.html

http://www.mobiles.co.uk/orange-spv-e650.html

http://www.directmobilephones.com/orange_spv_e650.htm

Well this makes my choice easier with getting either a SPV e650 or HTC Touch...

Just tried and get no issues.

o2 XDA Graphite, WM6
Rom UK_v3.40_XB_070711

Would try on SPV C600 but Orange seems to have major network issues in Nottingham area at the moment, no network coverage for around 2 hours.

QUOTE(cattr70 @ Nov 29 2006, 12:08) *
There is a file called \Storage\windows\evtlog.txt and it is growing everyday. Maybe that is the one you need to work on also and here is how to do just that. I don't know what that is for but I did it on October 18 and since then I do not have any problems.

1- Rename the evtlog.txt file
2- A new evtlog.txt file will be created automatically when you refresh the file system
3- Make the new one "Read only"
4- Restart phone, you cannot delete the renamed file yet (I am guessing this is needed to disconnect the renamed file from the software whichever is using it...)
5- Delete the old renamed file...

I hope I could help some people...

carrt70, i dont see this file on my device (SPV C600), I have checked and checked, I have hide hidden, system and rom files unchecked. Broswed via Activesync, on my phone, still dont see this file.

Any ideas? as Im now down to 5% again after hard resetting my phone a while back..Dont want to do it again..

Wheres my space.. mad.gif

Thanks all for your suggestions.

I did attempt to install .Net 2.0 awhile back, but as per most people, not enough space. Still had the install log for it though. only 14.8KB, now deleted.

cemail.vol is currently 284KB, is this ok to delete? I regularly delete any un-needed sms messages both in sent and deleted items.

MAPI folder is empty.

Nope dont use PMRecorder.

Today SP Task Mgr shows 1.76MB (10%).

Any ideas as to why my space is being eaten up and what files are safe to delete is greatly welcome.

Thanks.

Check \Storage\My Documents for any large files (MP3's etc), dont forget this is the default location for files received via BT or IR. Do you have an email account on there? Don't forget to remove any large attachements you may have...

hi Monolithix

Cheers for the above, there are no large files, in My Documents, I keep everything on my miniSD card.
Been through all the folders in \Storage\My Documents and there is nothing but the default files that the phone is shipped with, ie, .jpg files.

No attachments as far as I can tell as not managed to find any, I do have my pop3 account and also an exchange account which i reguarly sync, maybe this is where the space has gone, where would i look?

Thanks.

Hi.

This morning I switched on my SPV C600 and got a warning message "You are running low on storage space, please delete some files etc...".

Checked SP Task Mgr and it reported \IPSM Folder only had 0.50mb out of 16.96mb free space.

The above has appeared all of sudden, I have not installed any new applications, not copied across any files for at least over a month.

I have deleted all SMS messages in sent/deleted items.
I have deleted all the PIE Browsing, cookie, cache files.

Anyone any ideas why all of sudden the message would appear, also is there anything else i can to remove files which are not needed by the OS? Any FIles, any settings?

Thanks in advance.

Hi.

Can anyone help me, i have a o2 Mini XDA which is stuck on boot up on the o2 screen.
I have tried a soft and hard reset, removing the battery. Still unable to get it to start.

Assuming that ive done a hard reset correctly, tried the following
Holding down the "comms mgr" and "voice command" buttons while using stylus to reset.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes, and with that software you bring up the menus with two clicks on the home button.
Regarding a parallel functionality when pressing it and keeping it pressed for 1 sec+
we're still looking for a HTC Tornado way.. smile.gif

I just stumbled across how to do it, its the key on the side at the top, above the volume buttons.. smile.gif

With the orange (UK versions) SPV C500/C600 the phone had the functionality of a home key, when pressed and held for a few seconds, would take you to the the following

C500
Give you 2 options
1)Disconnect GRPS
2)Bluetooth

C600 (with new Orange AKU2 rom)
Took you to the Comm manager screen

I have flashed my c600 to imate sp5 rom, but pressing this button does nothing?

Anyone else have the same problem, anyone know of a registry hack? It was real useful, although i have added comm manager as a speed dial, but would prefer the original functionality back.

on the spec of the imate sp5, it states: Imate Spec

I don't know what preferences is called in french, and I can't acess a menu.. i can press to terminate the app, or i can press the joystick then it say "Télécharge une Carte, Patientez" same thing if i press the upperleft button on my Qtek 8310..

hempo, this may help in changing to English UK if you do manage to get tomtom to launch and are at the stage where it looks like the tomtom navigation screen

In UK you do the following
in tomtom, select the left soft key, takes you to the main menu screen (1of3)

select
5 - change preferences
6 - next
6 - next
6 - next
6 - next
4 - switch language

In french this is
5 - modifier preferences (spanner icon)
6 - Suivant (triangle pointing right)
6 - Suivant (triangle pointing right)
6 - Suivant (triangle pointing right)
6 - Suivant (triangle pointing right)
4 - changer langue (flags)

hope it helps.. biggrin.gif

hey TmB i had exactly the same problem, within having my SPV c600 for no less than 6 hours, i completly managed to make it un-usuable. I assumed it was due to me "tweaking" too much, so in my wisdom, i upgraded to orange's new rom with AKU2..woahh, big mistake..if i hadnt panicked, i would have hard reset the device and have a spv c600 with no problems, running various tweaks and no AKu2 locked down phone..

hope this helps, maybe, maybe not..
