heres another problem. if you live in north america our new upcoming umts network is on the 1900mhz band and the rest of the world is on the 2100mhz band for umts so the universal will be on the 2100mhz band wich meens that we will not be able to use its umts even if we have it in our area. stuck with gprs on a 3g device I think Ill pass

Unfortunately reviews of the MPX said that it DIDN'T do what other Pocket PCs could because of a slow processor and next to no memory...

AS Backup / Restore doesn't work with Smartphones, just Pocket PCs.

OK, I have a solution to the problem.

When you are ready to disconnect your phone, right-click on the ActiveSync tray icon and select Connection Settings. Uncheck "Allow USB connection...". ActiveSync will disconnect from the phone and you can then unplug it with no problems. When you are ready to sync again, go in and check the box before connecting your phone.

I've done this several times with no problems. Not the most elegant solution but it works!

I'm using FizzTraveller 2.2, I'm also using the homescreen plugin.. but the time is military time (I think thats the norm in the UK) anyways, I really hate it like this, does anyone know how to change it to normal? I checked in the main phone settings, and its normal, and in the FizzTraveller settings, theres no option to change this, unless I cant see it.. anyone? thx  8)

Is it possible that the reason of the MPx delay is that motorola would put in wm 5.0? So they have to redesign the keypad in order to insert the wm5.0 soft keys?

That charging mat is called the Splashpower, but I haven't heard any news since the announcement that they would actually release it in October 2004.

As with nearly all xml quieries, the answer is it's best to just copy the code you need from somewhere else! 

Juts download a theme that has a missed calls screen, and open the xml file up on your PC using notepad.  Then simply copy & paste the missed calls plugin into the xml file you want.

By far the best way to learn about homesreens is to download some of the themes from here, and then extract the images & xml and have a look at them.  You'll quickly begin to understand the vertical layout of the plugins, and the way the background images fit together. & then make a few changes to the xml file - change some x & y values, change the plugin height, change the text size ... whatever.  & then put it on your phone & see what happens.  Experimentation will very quickly show you how to edit the xml.

For anyone wanting to learn about homescreens, please feel free to use & reproduce any of the xml in any of my themes.  I learned about it by doing the same thing.

The graphics side of it comes down to having a good image editing program.  Photoshop or similar would be required for effects like transparency, but if you just wat to resize images there are lots available I'm sure.  But looking at other themes will show you the way plugin background images (both selected & unselected) fit in with the main background image, and it'll all start to make sense.

Apart from that, don't forget that most homescreen issues have been discussed at length on the froums in the past, so the search button is your friend!

I am quite comfortable with registry editing and deleting items from start menu but problem is (for example), when I tried to delete mMode link from start menu, I got an error message that I don't have prievilage to delete or even rename the file? Any help will be appreciated.

With the UK roms you select line 1 and 2 by pressing the # key. When you do the screen then displays which line you are currently using.

that would be pretty cool if someone made an app where u can choose from different voises. im sure its possible.. *hint hint*

built in gps would be a nice touch, you can carry your phone and use the navigator at the same time while you are walking, in a bike, bus or your own car without having problem with bluetooth connection(or cable connection).  why have two device when you can have it all in one.
