QUOTE(Markda2000 @ Feb 1 2006, 16:54) Just had an email back from T-mobile after asking when the Rom update will be available. Here is there reply "We are currently testing the ROM update and this is scheduled for release in this quarter." That means by end of March. Annoying wait if you purchased 6 months ago. My contract is up in the interim, may go for better supported phone. |

You will not be able to on the EXEC unless a new ROM with the MS updated AKU 2 bluetooth stack is released. I have a pair of Motorola HT 820's and can at last use them with my MDA compact thanks to a recent software patch. You need a ROM with A2DP support. However like you I find my PRO annoying. No fax s/w that supports WM 5 and the universal modem. NO sonicwall client No opera, No Avantgo. |

I have just returned from Singapore ,on Singapore airlines, at the departure gate I was asked if I have a PDA or laptop and was given a 30 minute internet access voucher to use onboard with the planes WIFI. Shame I had only had my pro a few hours before departing the UK. No time to install voip s/w. I promptly connected and sent many texts from the plane over the caspian sea, using the t-mobile web site. Somne sites including the registration site do not seem pocket ie or mobile device friendly. But hey I could read modaco from onboard. |

Aware of that, I would like to update 1 of the phones , preferably the compact. The compact is the one I have just updated via t-mobile web site and post update is using Radio 1.12 annoyingly, not the latest 1.13 that is around. |

I like this ROM it is an improvement. Various power off, power issues resolved. Most annoying problem for me. This update does not include RADIO 1.13 which has been around for ages and does allow bluetooth stereo headsets. supporting a2dp profile. Come on MDA/MDa pro users petition T-mobile UK for an updated radio / bluetooth stack. Its not new it exists on DIPOD etc. |

Fr the MDA Pro this T-mobile update does not include the RADIO 1.13 version, that many other compatible devices have had for a while. This supports A2DP allowing bluetooth stereo headsets eg Motorola HT820. This is a really annoying. I think any MDA / MDA PRO users should petition for the radio version that supports A2DP and bluetooth media streaming. |

trying to use as either a fax modem, usb connection from Win XP PC or send from PDA direct. No luck so far. Found this on KSE sofwtare site http://www.ksesoftware.com/ HTC-Universal device without fax software - The already available "Universal" devices manufactured by HTC are not equipped with a fax software. That means, when you purchase one of these Pocket PC Phones, such as MDA Pro, XDA expert, VPA 4, etc. no version of our software KSE Truefax is included. Furthermore no version of our software is available for these devices. Previous versions of Truefax are not compatible with this device type. If you need a fax software please contact your respective net provider. |

It looks like you can edit a config file and get the device to reconfigure (reboot and load cabinets) and have msn. If someone can translate this link I would be obliged. http://www.sda-forum.de/thread.php?postid=19226 The MSN web site quotes MSN as being FREE. my MDA PRO has less functionality than my MDA Compact. Come on. |

Once you have the file JAM_WWE_11100_132_11100.exe What do you do? Is this all you need, seems to be an installshield installer with instructions built in. Are there any backups to do first? is it possible to backup existing ROM first? |

I used a Sandisk 256MB plus WIFI from Expansys on my JAm, sticks out along way, wish there was a short SDIO or a USD version that is silver plastic and shaped to fit bottom of JAM. If you use an SDIO card, phone won't fit in supplied case. Wish the SDIO slot was deeper, who wants an inch of black plastic protruding. |

I have seen nice PAN and LAN connection pics of devices using the widcomm Bluetooth stack. This MS based BT stack on my MDA compact is crap. I cant see what services devices are offering no nice interface. Can it be purchased or downloaded. My other wish is Opera for PocketPC 2003. Hoping to make my life easier and device more intuitive |

Downloaded the US demo and I am impressed. However I have one command I would like, and if anyone can tell me how or bash microsoft until they give in. Send Text messgae to or Send SMS to Put my phone in intelitype mode, let me type message then say send. See my posts on magician 1 handed SMS to understand need for this. I am guessing speech to text conversion of actual message to much. |
