Finally someone out there that likes movies so much to carry it around with him on his M2000. Ok the only reasons I bought the M2000 was to use it as a film player. music player and of course pda. To do this I have spend a few bob on purchasing 3x 1gb SD cards and i use a USB2.0 card reader, as the docking station is a little slow, to transfer the movie that I want to the SD card. Now the movies I have collected from the internet (and before U ask i make sure that I have the original DVD before downloading a BACKUP version for myself) are all XviD/DivX encoded and are roughly 700mb large. This means that the video and audio quality is very good and i have not problems with the playback or the number of people that actually say WOW.... So the Movies are transferred on to the SD cards and i use almost 600mb of a SD to store all my mp3, flash files, PowerPoint demonstration files, etc. What i do is to install all the stuff that is required onto the onboard storage card which has 43mb. I then make sure that the rest of the 128mb is given over to allow programs to run rather then store programs, and that makes the phone run very quickly and with no problems. To playback audio and video I use BetaPlayer which is free and absolutely fantastic at playing back XviD/DivX and even on one occasion Vob files from a small DVD. Although the only problem I have with the player is that when I am playing mp3 and I want to be o the move I can not use the power button to lock the unit. For some reason when i use it the software used to play back the audio or video is paused, which for video I understand.. but it would be so good to be able to lock the unit, apart from a few buttons which I could assign to the playback of audio and moving between tracks. By the way if you want to talk about movie collection, then send me a private message and we can take it from there.. Hope that helps.. |

QUOTE(jharvey00 @ Mar 6 2005, 03:20) Or use MortPlayer - allows you to play MP3/Ogg/Wav as an alarm. Also includes a sleep timer and support for shoutcast streaming. Do you have to use MortPlayer ot actually play the files. ie is there a way to set a MP3 file to be played as a ringtone? I know that Pocket Zen does allow this, but its not the most idea configuration... |

I'm not sur eif this is of any help, and i pressume you already know about it, but if you go to the Settings > System >Button Lock and set the option to Lock all buttons.... then you will not have the problem of removing it from you pocket only to find it on since the power button has to be pressed to allow any other button/screen to work. As i say, i just thought to post it, just in case it was overlooked |

QUOTE(Mr_Man @ Dec 19 2004, 19:31) 73bugcab, have you tried KSE Truefax 2004 (v.3.0). Not used it on my M2000 but it's just won an award. May be worth a look: - http://www.ksesoftware.com/ Just to let you know the new version of TrueFax does not work with PDA with built in modems, so you have to us the one version old, like me, but I have it and have used it a number of times (on orange as they give you a seperate free line for receiving fac calls) and it works like a treat. |

Well as the saying goes, u cant have your cake and eat it.. so either easy writing with ? instead of ' to receipient, or manual deleting of the ' when the appear...lol.. anyone else got any sort of resolve?? |

OK since i last wrote, which i think was only a few seconds ago, i think I have found apossible fix... well when I say fix I actually mean a change in settings, goto the Messaging and within the Text Message inbox, click on Account>Accounts...>* Text Messages and untick the Use Unicode when necessary. Click on ok and try it out. Although I have only tried this settings for a few moments now and I can garantee that it has any other implications, I did see the sugestion on this site, so perhaps best to visit the forum a few times and keep yourself updated: http://www.tekguru.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic....ghlight=unicode hope that helps. |

Ok guys, I know i'm new to both the forum and the phone, but I have managed to find out thus far that it is only the ' that the predicitive text, or intelligent text enters that is of the problem, and if you actually type the ' in yourself as you are typing the problem is not faced. Now why this is as it is I dont know, but I have seen that when typing: weve and letting the phone enter the ', a whole lot of test space disappear, but if I actually type or write we've with the ' then it does not do that. I am wondering if, like Microsoft Word's autocomplete, the phones automatic entry for a missing is a different ASCII code then the usual code used for SMS ', and therefore since it is a different ACSII the problem arises. I have looked elsewhere on th net and it seems that the program writers PhatWare, who right the much better version of the Transcriber software called CalliGrapher are awair of the problem, and are working on a fix. Know I know that the lastest version of CalliGrapher is 7.4 and I am not sure if that has already resolved the problem, as I only have version 7, but if anyone out there has purchased, or obtained :?, the 7.4 version can you please confirm if this problem still exists. |

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum, but well I had to start somewhere. I think he is referring to Flash Dance Themes which can be found at http://www.pocketpcthemes.com/ This I believe allows you to have animated themes on the actual background, and from what I hear worth the extra resources you give up, but it seems to have problems with some games, and causes crashing of the phone. Have not trie dit first hand so do not know how acurate the info i got was. Hope that helps. |
