Yeah, I drive a Land Rover Freelander V6. The car tax is painful and so is the petrol, but I love my car very much and I don't want to change it, so I'll put up with the expense. I wouldn't recommend one to someone choosing a new car now though, and the fuel consumption is much better than you'd get on an old Range Rover. Alison |

I'm still loving my i600, but I think him indoors will be in the market for one of these. He's got a Treo 750 at the moment, but would love the higher-res screen and built-in wi-fi! |

With free IM clients that provide pretty much the same, I wouldn't pay on principle. Its not like the m6 toll that I will pay for as it provides a unique service., The question is whether you're paying for use of the Messenger Client or for the Messenger Service. If you're paying for the service, presumably it will stop working with third party clients too. Might be worth asking someone like Shape Services if they're aware of this coming in. |

Just saw this, checked my Samsung SGH i600, and hey presto, there it was. I'm on T-mobile with W&WPlus. My i600 is running WM6. I don't really use this very much, so I'd be really annoyed to have to maintain a fee for something that I only really need when I'm out of the office. |

My phones got a lovely new expensive Marc Jacobs handbag to ride around in! It's got one main section and then an extra zip section on the bottom which is dead useful for charging cables, spare batteries and my Proporta Mobile Device charger! |

Similar thing at www.maczot.com - an offer a day. If you sign up they send you an email with that day's offer. They seem to be getting a few good casual games offers lately as well as utilities, which is good for people with Macs as family computers. |

Compatibility? How does the fact I can run Windows applications in Mac OS X under either darwine or Crossover stand for compatibility? I'd like to see Windows run Mac applications And I do use my Mac as a computer perfectly well in Mac OS X, iWork for word processing, spreadsheets etc. Mail for, well, email Infact the only thing I really use Windows for is ROM flashing and editing etc... Phil I second everything Phil has said. As I said before, I'd been strictly Windows until last year. Never touched a Mac before then. I absolutely love it. I also find that some of the things I want to do with a home computer, for instance editing a video I've shot and uploading to You Tube, is MUCH easier on a Mac. You connect your video camera import the video and then just click and drag to move and edit stuff around, insert menus and transitions etc. I only did this for the first time a couple of weeks back, and have no professional video editing experience, and yet the vids I made have been complimented by loads of people. One even asked if I do it professionally. That's simply all down to the ability of iMovie, which ships free with the Mac! |

The 5 way seemed more solid and overall felt a little less plastic. I should also say that the two guys in there really had no clue about the device at all, which was pretty depressing. Oh, and someone had put a Nokia dummy phone out in the Ted Baker Needle position. I can't see them selling many at that rate. Shame really. A. |

So I went to Carphone Warehouse the other day and having seen the phone in the flesh.... I like the black one better. Now waiting for a SIM free memory-upgraded version with the original 5-way. |

I got my first Mac (a 12" Powerbook G4) 18 months ago, just before the new Intel Macs started to appear. Since then I've added a Mac Mini as a media centre and an iMac as our main home desktop machine. I've not looked back. I only had Windows experience prior to getting my Mac and found out what I needed to know by trial and error, but if you're seriously considering it, book an appointment at your nearest Apple store - they have simple Genius Bar sessions where you can ask questions, group or one-to-one training sessions, and particularly sessions for people who are new to Macs. Each Apple store website has a list of times and sessions too. If you book a one-to-one they can tailor it to your level of computer knowledge. If you're in any doubt as to whether to get one, then the support you can get at an Apple store is a great safety net. Alison |

OK I'll be first up with the girly vacuous response.... yes I want one. I wasn't so interested before you mentioned the bump in memory spec, but now I'm definitely interested, plus purple is my favourite colour. Not sure about the £300 SIM free price tag though. I suppose it's not bad considering the regular specced version is £260 SIM free. It would be nice if they could put the SIM free price on the Carphone website, so I don't have to go instore to get one though. Alison |

Unfortunately, it may just be the Orange version that has issues. I'm loving my unlocked one (using it with T-Mo SIM). Alison |

I've done the UK upgrade. Carousel is still there, as are the other Samsung Home Screen layouts. |

Woohoo! I now have a lovely new WM6 device. I not with some amusement that it tells you in the FAQ that you can't do the ROM upgrade with a Mac. Oh yes you can, thanks Parallels! Anyway, upgraded Missing Sync to version 4.0 last night straight after the ROM upgrade and it connected immediately, in fact I think it's quicker connecting than before. Synced all my contacts and calendar back, reinstalled my regular apps and I'm good to go. The whole process from start to finish only took about 2 hours including the reinstalls. Am liking the new version of the the Messaging App. Haven't noticed any key issues yet Gav, but I'm using Papyrus for my calendar. |

It might be worth you holding out for a bit longer to see if HTC do come out with a successor to the StrTrk. I'm sure I saw a rumour of something a couple of months back. Even if they just add in 3G, that should meet most of your criteria. |

I do the same thing with my Samsung i600 - enable Bluetooth PAN and then just select Join Network. Works well. |

My understanding is that VOIP doesn't work that well as the processor is a bit slow for that purpose. If anyone's got it working well, I'm sure they'll correct me! |

I'm using this and facing the same problem. As I know Papyrus didn't replace default Calendar shortcut. (But it replaced Task shortcut) I think replacing calendar manually would make carousel call Papyrus. But I don't know how to do it. Unfortunately it doesn't look like a fix is going to happen for this at the moment. I've posted in the Papyrus forum at SBSH as well. I opted to use Facade for my home screen instead and that's all working fine. If you decide to go with the same thing, Facade is on special offer in the MoDaCo store for the next couple of days. |

Ah, I see. I haven't tried this with my Blackjack as my TomTom is on my old Treo. I just keep a PAYG sim card in there for Traffic updates. I am using the Bluetooth PAN Internet Sharing option for my laptop. |

Are you just trying to pair the i600 with a laptop as a modem? I have that working between my i600 and my Mac Powerbook. |

Maybe I'm the only one using this combination, but if I'm not, has anyone had any luck in getting the calendar links from the home screen to point to Papyrus and not the unbuilt calendar. SBSH have said they're aware of the issue, but don't have a fix. Any help, very gratefully received. A. |
