calendar+ is one of my favourite apps - i'm running 2.5.2 with 6.1 professional without any issues. what are you running ?

thanks for reply. I'm using Win Mo 6 Pro, CE OS 5.2.1620, on an HP iPAQ 614c. This device seems somewhat quirky so maybe it is just a problem with the iPAQ.

Hey all,

So I know there is tons and tons of freeware out there for PPCs, but a lot of it is somewhat lame. Does anyone know of a directory which has handpicked the best out there?

I ask becaues I desperately don't want to go through and install and uninstall loads of apps on my device making it slower and slower (I know I could hard reset once I'd found good sw but I use it as a phone and don't really want to lose my messages).

I'm specifically looking for a today screen plugin that displays > 1 calendar item, and perhaps the tasks.

I found TodayAgenda which looks great, amazing, the problem is when I click a task or a calendar item and it loads up the native app, it forgets my default input method which makes it completely useless.

I also found calendar+ 2.5.2, which I installed, but it didn't even show up on my device after installation.

I tried TaskPlus which also did not work.

Perhaps today screen plugins in particular don't like new versions of WM?

Thanks!

Hey,

Often, when in a call, I struggle to hear the other person even with the in call volume on max. Does anyone know a registry setting where this value can be increased even further?

I have no trouble hearing music/audio when playing MP3s or anything. And the other party in the call says they can hear me just fine.

hey,

does anyone know of a way to make the vibrate/sound toggle button on the top of the iPAQ 614c do anything more than toggle between sound and vibrate?

Even just changing it to toggle between sound and completely muted would be more useful for me.

Hey,

I've just switched to a PPC from a Smartphone and I'm noticing one thing I'd really like the PPC to behave more like the Smartphone, I was hoping someone may be able to help.

I have tried to search the forums for an answer, but couldn't find anything....

On the SP: you get a message, you press soft key, the message appears, is automatically marked read, you read it. You press the red hang up button and you're back on the home screen. Two key presses to read the message, mark it as read and be back on the homescreen.

The PPC seems somewhat more involved. You get a bubble notification...so if you don't want to read it its one press just to dismiss that. But say you do but you don't wnat to reply, you have to do Menu > Save As Read (four key presses, and this doesn't work when the message is too long for the bubble because you then have to load it up first).

Does anyone know any tweaks to make this a bit more streamlined?

Hey,

I just got a new 614c and am experiencing some problems which to me make it a hard device to live with.

First up is the default input method. Even when xT9 is selected, xT9 isn't actually used as the default input method everywhere. It is in some places, but other places it is not (such as Internet Explorer Address Bar, IE Form Entry Boxes). This makes it highly annoying to use, especially as on occassion the input method notifier icon disappears (gets squeezed out from the icon bar) thus meaning you don't know what method you're using...slows down usage incredibly.

Second, has anyone tried Opera on this device? In Opera I first get an error on starting, which I can close and Opera loads. But then on usage, I can only type using numbers with the hard keys. Even after I choose ABC, or T9, the hard keys still type numbers only.

Next, has anyone found a way to speed up the Up/Down/Left/Right (thumb on '5', slide in direction) movement on the SmartTouch? The repeat function is so so slow it makes it almost unusable, which thus means the device is devoid of any directional joypad entry form.

Thanks!

Okay, so after looking into this a bit I think the problem is the way the networks sort out delivery notifications.

On O2, to get a delivery report the first 3 charactesr ofthe message have to be: *0#.

I can manually type this in a message, and delivery notification then works.

On Orange, the three letters have to be RCT (according to here: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=...y+notification)

I'm guessing that the registry does hold something for this, or at least, that whatever the "standard" way of doing it is isn't supported by O2, because choosing the option "Request delivery notifications" just doesn't work with O2.

Hey

I have an Orange C600 and have always had Request delivery notifications set to on. However I never actually get any delivery notifications. Never ever have. I had a C500 and the same was true of that. And I've recently had to flash my C600 with the i-Mate SP5 ROM and again, I've got the setting on, which I can verify when sending individual messages by going to "7 Message Options" (the box is checked), but I never actually get any notifications.

I am on O2 - could this be the reason? Do O2 support delivery notifications? If they do, is there some extra setting that you have to change on the smartphones (like similar to the Message center number or something - but that isn't accessible from the normal user interface).

Thanks!

yo,

just now i posted on how to turn off delivery reports. i didn't bother searching for how to do this on the forums because the search on these forums doesn't work. but i thought I'd post to ask if there is a trick for getitng search results which make sense.

When I search for "delivery report" on the forums I get the following:

Pinned: Topic has attachmentsFREE CASH! Announcing: M:Panel from M:Metrics and MoDaCo
Pinned: A2DP for Tornado!
Pinned: Topic has attachmentsPaul's must have FREE Hermes
Pinned: Topic has attachmentsCingular 2125: Everything you
Pinned: START HERE: Buying CamerAware

Another good one is if you search for "call history". I've posted about three times asking how to reset the max length of the call history, all of them get answered. But each time I've had a new phone I've had to post again because the search just doesn't pick any of them up.

Is there a setting somewhere to alter this kind of thing and make the search results more useful?

Hi,

i have an Orange SPV C600. Is there a way in this to turn off sending of delivery notifications for SMS messages so that it doesn't inform other people when I've recieved a message successfully?

hey

previously i've used the HKEY_CU\ControlPanel\Phone\CallHistoryMax setting to extend the number of entries in the call history.

On my C500 I set this to 5000 or something and had a list of calls for an entire year.

On my C600, the registry contained this key, but changing the value in there doesn't make any difference. It seems to be storing about a month of calls, which is approx 400 or so.

Does anyone know if there is a flag or another setting I need to use to get this to work?

Thanks

hey,

I have a new C600. I've probably not been using it more than a month, and I'm starting to get messages about the storage space on my phone being low, and I need to free up some memory.

According to the System Info under the Task Manager I have 700 Kb free. This doesn't seem very much at all. I managed to free some stuff up by deleting the temporary internet files, and moving a couple of photos to the storage card.

But I'm still only left with 2.97 Mb. I know this won't give me warning messages now - but it still seems very low. 3 Mb free out of 16 Mb. The phone is brand new, has no software installed, only a few text messages, etc.

Is this normal?

On my SPV C500, I had it for a year and 2 months and never deleted a text message (there were thousands stored) - I had a yaers worth of call history, and I never once got a message about low storage memory.

Any guideance would be welcomed,

Simon

Hey

I've got an XDA Mini S. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to use some of the plugins from the O2 Active UI without running the whole UI?

The O2 Active UI replaces the homescreen, but it's dog slow. However, it does have some pretty cool stuff like Power Profiles, status bars similar to SPB Pocket plus, etc, etc.

Before I did my ROM update the Mini S had a battery homescreen plugin out of the box. Since the upgrade that's gone now, except within the O2 Active UI. But it's so slow.

Is there a way to use bits of it from the normal homecreen?

I've read in the "fair use" paragraph for WnW unlimited that is now on T-Mobile website, that certain activities are not going to be allowed on WnW, specially, any audio / video streaming, any using it as a laptop modem, and internet based telephony.

Well the laptop modem and using VOIP would be two of the best things about this deal.

Does anyone know how this is going to work? Are they firewalling the connection at all? Has anyone managed to get a VOIP client to work? I've seen a 2 Gb limit talked of - how have people come ot that conclusion.

I rang up O2 to cancel my contract and they offered a pretty good deal (excepting any data) - like 500 anynet mins + 500 txts for £20 a month, plus £100 credit on my account and only a 12 month contract - all that despite me still having almost 2 months left before it expires.

If the unlimited data on this WnW tarrif really definately can't be used for any of the stuff they mention I'm thinking I won't bother switching after all cos most of the bens they've taken away. Especailly as T-Mobile coverage isn't the greatest etc, etc.

Anyone have an experience yet of them blocking services or whatever?

hey,

i know this is gonna be hyper annoying because i'm just posting to ask this stuff instead of searching the forums.

I have searched the forums though, and it doesn't seem to matter where you limit the search or what you search for all you get is millions of hits for homescreen customizing.

Basically, I'm after the location of the registry key to change the key repeat timeout to make it quicker so that you don't have to wait as long on each key when not using T9.

Plus, on my old C500 I found a way to extend the ammount of items the phone would keep in the Call History which I found really useful.

If anyone could point me in the directory of this stuff that' dbe amazing.

hey,

i just got a C600, pretty good update from the C500 - loving the screen.

however, i'm finding that whenever i compose a text message, if I happen to pause for more than say 15 seconds while doing so, the compose screen disappears and it goes back to the home screen.

The message is saved in drafts, but it's still well annoying.

Anyone else had this?
