I'm stabbing in the dark here... but have you tried leaving another message on your voicemail (from another phone), then listening to it and deleting, as this might then send a fresh 'no messages left' signal to your device?

For a stab in the dark it was right on the nail, I can't believe I missed that one! rolleyes.gif

Hi,
I've just got a Imate Jamin (2nd hand) and I've put my T-Mobile SIM in and the answering message icon is on at the top of the screen and although I did have a saved message which I deleted, the icon will not go away and every time I start the phone I get the notification of a message.

Any ideas?

I'd be very surprised if that was the case.

I said as much, WM5 is WM5 and I thought Microsoft would be a bit annoyed if T-Mobile stopped certain software from running.

Hi,
Today I went into a T-Mobile store and had a look at the MDA III and while talking about it the guy told me that you couldn't install tomtom as the phone SW had been edited to lock it to Co-Pilot.

Has anyone used Tomtom with this phone?

Cheers

Well... tell me what would consistute 'disabling the camera'. I could give you a software patch to disable it, but would your employer think that is sufficient?

I suspect a hardware mod isn't going to be straightforward.

P

As far as I can gather the current methods are
- Having the lens physically removed, i.e. unscrewing the lens if possible.
- Drill the lens and fill with epoxy resin.
- Have the phone disabled by the supplier and a letter provided to that effect.

Then Security have to register it.

There is talk of a foil type anti tamper sticker that can be applied over the lens but that's only a rumour at the moment.

It's a right royal pain in the ar**.

I don't think a SW mod would do but If they can see that the camera didn't work it might be enough, I'll ask.

Cheers

Hi,
I would like to get a MDA compact III but where I work camera phones are banned. I asked T-Mobile if they could temporarily (because I would like to sell it on later) disable the camera but they said they couldn't.

Can anyone who's got one tell if the lens is screwed on or not, if it is then I maight be able to remove it myself. Never mind the warranty sad.gif

Cheers

"Go on then" I say...

They didn't actually have any in stock on MicroSD at the the time, but I just picked it up this morning - along with the receipt saying the price is actually £199.99.

I think I did OK really... biggrin.gif

ohmy.gif Flipping heck, you did pretty well, I was thinking of getting an MDA III but I was going to order online.

It seems like paying a visit to the shop might be better.

Online you get a discount on the line rental, do you get this in the shop as well? or is it just a web offer.

Cheers

My 2 penneth.....
I must say I'm suprised that this forum has no problem taking a ROM officially released for the French C500, probably something about only using on French phones in the EULA, and then tweaking it till it works and then getting all bent out of shape about someone mentioning that there is a "leaked" UK version on the internet.

I agree that posting a link to the dubious ROM might be a step to far but don't have a go at people who want to give it a try.

It is common practice for people to tweak graphics card drivers to increase performance and there are even magazine articles discussing the best modified drivers to use.

I this day and age I believe it has become common practice to modify your own property or its software at your own risk, My phone belongs to me I can modify the SW if I wish (as long I don't then sell it) SW.

I used to edit the ROM images for the Samsung DVD player to give personalised Screen savers and I don't believe Samsung ever cared about it !!!

I also agree with a previous poster, most leaks are indeed a way for the authors to get some free beta testing done in advance.

Having said that I agree that legitimate forums should not post links to illegal SW but I think it's a bit of a grey area as to wether this is illegal or not....

Hi,
I've been trying to get this plugin to use with my new SPV C500 but Handango seems to be down.

Is there any other way I can get it?

Does anyone know how many wires there are in the Orange car charge lead, before I cut it up......

There's two wires, a red one and a black one, I connected these to a usb plug and plugged it into my 12V USB adapter and it works fine.

You could also make your own cable up: - Maplin sell the USB connectors: -
the order code for the 5 pin mini plug = L53AZ and the A plug = PN86T.

All you need then is some 2 core cable and a soldering Iron.

Picked a car charger up from a local Orange shop yesterday. Cost me £9.99.

I did the same but I'm tempted to open up the charger to see if there is 3 or 5 cables in the wire, if there is 5 then I'm going to put a USB plug on the end so I san use my USB socket cigarette adapter (all my other stuff uses this) and mabye add a switch to allow charge or Sync.

Does anyone know how many wires there are in the Orange car charge lead, before I cut it up......
