Been using the MPX220 for a few years as a backup and never had any problems switching the sim back and forth between it and my primary phone. One day I set it to "meeting" to silence the ringer and it wouldn't switch back. I had a silent phone and the sounds were inaccessable in File Viewer. So, I did a hard reset only to find I can now set my favorite ringtones, but other problems popped up. First the home screen is set to Basic with no indications for text messages, meetings or voicemail...just a plain Windows wallpaper with the date and time. Also, the contacts I put back in were gone the next time I tried to use them. Is there some way I can regain the functions I've lost?

QUOTE(RicKaysen @ Apr 22 2005, 18:18)
I have a half dozen identical Moto chargers and one for the car. NONE of them work with this phone unless I hold the damn thing and press the plug into the phone at an angle. I've given up. The only charger that works for me is the usb, but I don't always leave my computer plugged in at night when I typically charge a phone. That and other issues like delayed roll outs of anticipated products and cancellations of hyped phones has really soured me on the company that I purchased form, exclusively for 15 years. I just picked up a Treo 650...linking it a lot.

Meant to say...LIKE it a lot...duh

Forgive the totally non-technical reply, but the vibrating component of the phone may have gone bad. I recal that happening to and old Star-Tac I owned. It was replaced under warranty.

Sounds routine. I got the unlock code from Cingular through e-mail as promised in a few days.

Anyone else have this problem? I have four or five identical travel chargers from various Moto phones and not one of them fits properly. To get it to make contact, I have to hold the phone and push the plug in at an angle. Of course, as soon as I let go the contact is lost. It does, however, do a fine job of completely discharging the battery overnight. The only charger that fits securely is the USB cable, but I don't leave my computer running all the time. I bought a Moto car charger and it has the same lousy plug. What's everyone else using?

I bought a 2.5mm to 3.5mm headphone adapter for my mpx220 and i am only getting sound from one side of the headphones....does anybody know how to make sound come out of both sides of the headphones ????

You have to fiddle with it a bit to get the adapter to make contact on both channels. Try pulling the headphone jack out of the adapter just a fraction of an inch. I had the same issue and tossed mine in favor of the Moto headphones. The jack fits right and the sound is impressive.

I used to laugh at people who wanted to go through the trouble of changing their providers logo on the splash/boot screen into something else. That was when I had the comparatively classy AT&T logo. Now that I have to see that goofy Cingular screen on startup, all I want to do is get rid of it. Can someone point me to a hack that will let me change it to something...anything else?

Do I have to purchase a separate AC adapter?

Also, does this charger need to be plugged into my PC if I don't want to sync my data?

You can either plug the travel charger into the base or the USB cable and use that to charge and synch.

If you're talking about the round, blue and grey desk desktop charger, the clock is surrounded by a blue rubber retaining ring. The clock can be levered out with a small screwdriver. You'll find the adjuster at the three o'clock position.
