Go to gmail's settings page - there is a option to delete or keep e-mails after download. Check there. Thanks but this is not a gmail specific problem, I also have hotmail and my company pop3 accounts on the I600 as well, and all mails in all accounts disappear after doing send/receive twice. weird.. |

Hi, I have 3 email accounts on my I600 (WM5 - version XXGD1) When I do send/receive in any one of the accounts (gmail) messages are downloaded, but when I do send/receive again, the old messages disappear (deleted probably) and the inbox shows no items at all. Is there a way to keep the old messages in the inbox folder? Thanks |

the links under all flags point to the same file as I remember, does not matter which one you choose, however you should change your phone's region and then upgrade with the WM06 phone. detailed explanations on how to do this can be found in this thread: http://www.modaco.com/Samsung-SGH-i600-Firmwar-t253760.html |

I have noticed that when IE prompts for download you can select "menu>save as" and then you can select memory or storage card as an option. No additional software required. This works on my I600 with WM2005 |

When the battery goes down to %10 or so the I600 dims the screen to a darker mode to save power (as it says) But this makes the screen almost invisible in daylight, is there a way to disable this self-decided power saving attitude. I do not mind running the battery empty, but prefer being able to see the screen when I look at it. thanks |

I was thinking of a leather case: I see PDAIR top and side flips (£17) Proporta top flip (£28) Noreve (£28) Krussell cases (5 types) anyone have one of these and recommend it ? I am mostly interested in protection of the i600 from cosmetic damage, like scratches, rather then something bullet proof ..... I have krusell, check here: http://www.modaco.com/Krusell-case-I600-t256917.html it is ok, the screen is not covered though... |

There is a quick and easy way to "knobble" GPRS and bring it back to life again easily when needed. Use Paul's "No Data" program to switch GPRS accounts on and off at will, it won't overcome the WIFI disconnecting problem, but it will avoid an unwelcome bill at the end of the month, especially if you're roaming. Can you give us a link for that program? I searched the forum with words "paul, no data" but found this topic only |

Knobbling your GPRS settings would make it a hassle to use GPRS when you want to I dont know of any way to do that, I don't think WM5 (or 6) is clever enough to give you the choice I think WM is actually clever but thinks in a different way, it assumes that we prefer not to lose the internet connection no matter what, therefore whenever wi-fi becomes unavailable it automatically switches to gprs/edge. This sounds clever if your connection is vital, but most of the times our connections are not so vital and we prefer to wait for the wifi to become available again rather than switching to gprs immediately. It would have been nice to have an option asking us what to do when wifi becomes unavailable. I am guessing that we could disable auto gprs switching from somewhere in registry but do not know where I've come to the same conclusion. I'm now wondering what is the quickest way to make a wifi connection. Currently I go into the wifi manager. I'd like a single item on the home page that will attempt to connect. Thanks Tim You will probably need a homescreen with wifi activator, I do not know if anyone has that, you may check the homescreen customization section of this forum. |

How can I install applications on my Blackjack? I'm particularly looking into PocketNester. I unzipped the archive and when I openned it, I was lost. How do I do it? Does the Blackjack use a certain file extension for software? Help, please. If the setup file is an "exe" then you should run it from your PC (while connected through activesync) and follow the instructions on your PC and phone. If the setup file is a "cab" then you should copy the file to your phone and run it on your phone and follow the instructions. |

Because if the UK one is close to being available I would prefer to wait for the correct one to come out. Using a different countries ROM is something I'd only consider if there was _never_ going to be a UK one... I do not think that current WM6 Roms are any country specific. There is only one WM6 rom update file and fits all countries I guess. When you see the British flag on the update site I do not think that will point to another WM6 rom file designed only for UK, it will be the same file. But if you willing to wait then it is ok. |

Does anyone have any reliable knowledge on when the UK upgrade to WM6 will be available? Why don't you just flash your phone to WM5 (i600XXGD1 ) rom first and then to WM6 as described in early posts. It works perfectly. You do not need to wait for your country's or continent's specific WM6 rom updates. It is ready and here already. |

Hmm, works fine for me Presumably you've checked your routers internet connection. Have you set the Wireless connection on the device so that it connects to "Internet" (Wireless Manager, Menu, 2, select the connection, Menu, 1. Network Type should be "Internet") If that doesn't work... Do you get any error messages? Can you download email over Wifi? Does your Wifi have WEP, and have you put in the correct key? I selected "the internet" from the options menu of IE and now it works fine. Previously the IE had WAP Network choosen. Thanks.. |

EDGE signal is available. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EDGE (You should see "3G" for UMTS, and "H" for HSDPA, respectively; but, at least in my case, it seems to show "H" only when connected using HSDPA.) D. thanks dario, thats why I felt the surfing was faster |
