Ok question peeps. I think someone in this thread should be able to help. As mentioned I am on the Unlimited offpdeak data plan. I gathered this gives me free 3G data. but what happens when I am out of 3G reception and its GPRS? will I get charged for that!? Other thing is making a video call uses 3G data right? does this mean video calls are simply using min bundles. i doubt it but i am new to 3G and curious :| |

I managed to get: 500 x-net mins unlimited text 18 month contract Orange M3100 Free £30 a month + £5 Unlimited off peak data 3G. this took a lot of work to get and was comparing to the T-mobile web & walk policy. Also they said a magic number, but since accepting i have tried to claim. I last added one 2 months ago and now they say I have to wait 4 months. I *presumed* when they said I would get a magic number they meant straight away.. but no such luck. never heard of this £8 data package... but i imagine its bespoke. the sales guys like to spout rubbish at orange but i think they can off you whatever you want! in fact i spoke to 2 people who said there is no unlimited data package... yet the 3rd person said there was! |

firstly apologies if someone else has written a guide to this. I have searched the forum and found nothing! I have recent got the M3100 (HTC TyTn) and am on the orange unilimted off peak 3G surfing. I am ocassionally away from home and used a vodaphone 3G PCMCIA card to go online. Now I have the M3100 I figured this could save me some money off peak. Problem is I have no idea how to det it working. I have tried linking to the modem over DUN COM port, but asks for a phone number and login.... can anyone please shed some light? |

Well I am sure glad I am not the only one with this issue. It sure seems the simplest way to cure is using the on off button. A quick off and on again restores its a real frustration! If anyone figures out a fix let us know! Btw- how many people can varify the 6.1 fix? i cant find a way to update at all... even with tomtom home?! |

QUOTE(sooty2 @ Mar 14 2006, 15:32) Coalfield. I have exactly the same problem as you. THB car kit with C500 cradle and a C600 that won't fit. I also use TomTom but I didn't modify the cradle for audio as my car has no aux input and I dont use the TomTom voice very often, also I have a separate speed cam warner so don’t need the TomTom POI warnings. On the rare occasions I need TomTom voice I just release the phone from the contacts but leave it in the cradle and get sound from the phone. I had come to the same conclusion that it was the antenna post that was the problem with the C600 and also the bottom of the cradle just covers the * and # keys at the bottom of the phone. I was going to have a go at modifying the cradle but haven’t got round to it yet. For the time being I am using the THB Bluetooth adapter and the phone is in the cup holder. Not Ideal, no charging, no external antenna and TomTom is difficult to see. I've only had the C600 for 2 weeks and now I've been spoiled with the new screen I really dont want to go back to the C500. Please share your cradle mod! Dont know about you, but the C600 seems a lot slower to me than the old C500. yeah its a real pain. Such a burn that THB Bury are not releasing a cradle for the c600. Maybe we need a petition. My mod is basically taking the cradle apart (as shown in my c500 mod) and cutting the antenna off. Brutal i know, but when put back together it fits fine and charges. I now have a problem with my mic not working, but i think that is to do with me breaking the connection. I cant be arsed to fix it anymore I have had it with THB Bury. c600 seems ok for me to be honest speed wise. one thing I did notice is I have already scratched the screen (hairline) but annoying. Also the number shortcuts randomly changed to letters. I found out its becuase i paired and sent a file to a sony erricson. Also the GUI on the phone looks a bit rushed. Alsost like they released the phone before the software was ready. The screen is awsome though, looking at the c500 now just makes it look n00b. hence mine is http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1  |

Ok... I rang up THB Bury in Germany along with their UK distributor to see if there were plans to release a c600 cradle for the THB Bury. Their reply was basically a NO. There are no plans to release a cradle for the c600 and will not likely ever be. GREAT. Maybe its because not enough people bought the c500 one? Mind you £70 a pop for just a cradle surely they are not making a loss on it! Anyway... I have found a way to MOD the c500 cradle to fit the c600. Yay! All working at the moment at least as far as making a call to voicemail and charging goes. To be honest its a bit risky & a bit messy, I nearly screwed my cradle in the process (the build quality of them is shizzle... they practically break when u take it apart.. i think they are designed to.) As there are no replies to the post at the moment, I take it there is not much demand for this. If anyone is interested add to the post and I will explain in much the same way I did with my last PDF posting on how to mod the audio out on the THB Bury... See: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=208310&hl=thb+bury If your not, I am curious to know how other people use hands free & tomtom in their car? Do you use bluetooth & tomtom, because in my xp I have found that to be fairly buggy. Any other hands free kits worth looking at? |

As far as I know the only (decent) wired hands free kit for the c500 was the THB Bury hands free kit with c500 cradle. I bought one and have loved it (besides the problem with no sound in tomtom) for as long as I have had the phone. When I got the c600 I saw the dimensions were almost identical to the c500 so though (maybe just maybe) I may be able to fit it in there.... Now I have it.. no such luck It very nearly fits, but the antenna post at the back is about 1mm off. I cannot see if it would fit without, but I think it would. Either way its damn annoying becuase there is no THB Bury universal cradle for the c600, and I dont know if they will make one. Does anyone else have a similar problem. Seems a waste to buy a whole new car kit when all I need is the cradle for a c600. I am almost tempted to take the cradle apart and remove the antenna bit to see it if fits, but the cradle was £70 alone so dont want to risk fudgin' it  YOUR THOUGHTS ON HANDS FREE KITS FOR THE C600 PLEASE! |

I know there are othes with this problem and at the moment only you seem to have a fix. Any chance yo can take some piccies or similar. I will try to mod mine aswell and hopefully write a tutorial to post. At the moment the only way I can use Tomtom is to disconnect it from the THB Bury cradle. Hum... kinda defeating the point! Working on a solution for this which i could write a tutorial about. I hope some onther people have the problem too else I will be wasting my time  |

QUOTE(mordzy @ Jun 9 2005, 15:50) After spending days posting and asking variouse manufacturers and people i have finally cracked and finnished my project. basicly. i had bought a THB CarTalk Kit and used for a while (fantastic) then Purchased TOMTOM 5 For C500 last week and was gutted to find that when in the kit you cant here the voice nav. Anyway.. i didnt dispare and emaild THB tech for some help. they didnt seem to know anything nor would they give me any pin out details for the unit.. argh. i knew the 4pole 2.5mm jack was the key(like the hands free headset supplied with the phone). so i took the kit to bits found the mic/R audio/Ground. but couldnt find the L audio... after a little digging i found it. (basicly the pin had been snapped off in manufacture. I scratched the resin/varnish of the remaining contact (pin head size) and managed to get a blob of solder on and a wire. I hooked up 3 wires in total. the L+R and Ground drilled a hole on the cradle and passed them trough the rear of the casing. After putting the cradle back together i connected up 2 RCE Phono plugs and run them to the rear of the car stereo. . my hands free car kit works perfectly and if i want to use the TOMTOM GPS i can switch the stereo to aux and still here the nav while the phone is in the cradle.. woohoo. Now .. what an amazing byproduct of my mod is the fact i can also set the stereo to aux and here any MP3's playing on my phone (stereo controls the volume.) if anyone needs any help setting up similar please drop me a line .. id be glad to help.. QUOTE(chigwa @ Apr 24 2005, 07:41) I have a THB Car Kit fitted but when i use tom tom there is no sound due to the car kit disabling the phone speaker - is there a way round this so the sound comes out of the phone as well as the car kit speaker?? I am using the C500 with Tom Tom Mobile My challenge is for someone to suceed in the speakerphone working with the car kit - or even with a wired headset - if it can work with a wired headset then it should'nt be an issue with a car kit? Alternatively get tom tom voice instructions to come out of the integrated car kit speaker.gh I have exactly the same problem. You found a fix for it? |

Was wondering if anyone has coem accross this problem before: I have recently purchased both tomtom navigator 5 (mobile) for my c500 phone and the THB bury kit with audio loom for my stereo. I have come across a problem. When I use tomotom, the directional audio alerts are no longer audible. This is because the phone thinks headphones are plugged in, so the audio “would” come out of those. But because the THB bury doesn’t recognise an phone call incoming or outgoing it does not allow the audio to pass through to the speakers. This poses a problem because whenever using naviation I cannot use the THB bury car kit. Its a pain becuase other than that its a sweet setup. I cannot see any feasable hardware fix without alot of risky re-wiring, but I was hoping there is a simple software fix. I cant believe I have the first one with this problem. Any piece of software to FORCE the tomtom audio out of the phone speakers even when the headset is plugged is in what I need. It would be the same for MP3's and similar, i.e. make the audio come from both outputs, heaphone jack & internal speaker! Can anyone help? Thanks! p.s I am pretty n00b and new to the forum so my applogies if this is simple or has been covered before. |
