I have exactly the same problem as you. THB car kit with C500 cradle and a C600 that won't fit.

I also use TomTom but I didn't modify the cradle for audio as my car has no aux input and I dont use the TomTom voice very often, also I have a separate speed cam warner so don’t need the TomTom POI warnings.  On the rare occasions I need TomTom voice I just release the phone from the contacts but leave it in the cradle and get sound from the phone.

I had come to the same conclusion that it was the antenna post that was the problem with the C600 and also the bottom of the cradle just covers the * and # keys at the bottom of the phone.

I was going to have a go at modifying the cradle but haven’t got round to it yet. For the time being I am using the THB Bluetooth adapter and the phone is in the cup holder. Not Ideal, no charging, no external antenna and TomTom is difficult to see.

I've only had the C600 for 2 weeks and now I've been spoiled with the new screen I really dont want to go back to the C500.

Please share your cradle mod!

Dont know about you, but the C600 seems a lot slower to me than the old C500.

Mordzy!  I have the same problem with the tomtom you have had.  THB Bury & tomtom dont work, the audio dies.  I know there are othes with this problem and at the moment only you seem to have a fix.  Any chance yo can take some piccies or similar.  I will try to mod mine aswell and hopefully write a tutorial to post.

At the moment the only way I can use Tomtom is to disconnect it from the THB Bury cradle.  Hum... kinda defeating the point!

After spending days posting and asking variouse manufacturers and people i have finally cracked and finnished my project.

basicly. i had bought a THB CarTalk Kit and used for a while (fantastic) then Purchased TOMTOM 5 For C500 last week and was gutted to find that when in the kit you cant here the voice nav.

Anyway.. i didnt dispare and emaild THB tech for some help. they didnt seem to know anything nor would they give me any pin out details for the unit.. argh.

i knew the 4pole 2.5mm jack was the key(like the hands free headset supplied with the phone). so i took the kit to bits found the mic/R audio/Ground. but couldnt find the L audio... after a little digging i found it. (basicly the pin had been snapped off in manufacture.

I scratched the resin/varnish of the remaining contact (pin head size) and managed to get a blob of solder on and a wire.

I hooked up 3 wires in total. the L+R and Ground drilled a hole on the cradle and passed them trough the rear of the casing.

After putting the cradle back together i connected up 2 RCE Phono plugs and run them to the rear of the car stereo. .

my hands free car kit works perfectly and if i want to use the TOMTOM GPS i can switch the stereo to aux and still here the nav while the phone is in the cradle.. woohoo.

Now .. what an amazing byproduct of my mod is the fact i can also set the stereo to aux and here any MP3's playing on my phone (stereo controls the volume.)

I have a THB Car Kit fitted but when i use tom tom there is no sound due to the car kit disabling the phone speaker - is there a way round this so the sound comes out of the phone as well as the car kit speaker?? I am using the C500 with Tom Tom Mobile

My challenge is for someone to suceed in the speakerphone working with the car kit - or even with a wired headset  - if it can work with a wired headset then it should'nt be an issue with a car kit?

Alternatively get tom tom voice instructions to come out of the integrated car kit speaker.gh

Is there a way I can store the settings on my phone ie ringtones, homescreen etc so I don't have to do this in the future??

I have a new spv500 from Orange and have now been trying to pair my Polstar reciever so as to use tomtom5 mobile.......
My phone will recognise the receiver but will not lock on to it and therefore when i start Tom tom it has no gps device.

On reading a number of articles they all refer to setting up the com ports but this is no longer on the phone ..........

I have version 4.21.1088 which i'm led to believe is 2nd edition ??

Can anyone offer a way for me to pair the receiver and get this working ???

Orange have just said that they dont support tomtom so tuff titty....
