The Shadow is one of the nicest looking Smartphones I've seen to date I reckon and the UI looks rather swish. Although... 200mhz 2MP camera Isn't it about time these particular specs were ditched once and for all? |

This seriously looks like a device that I'd be interested in to replace my Qtek 8500. I'm not going to do it until they fix this T-Mobile GPRS issue though It does pose the obvious question: How can they bring out a new device with exactly the same problem as the previous model? On the face of it, that appears to be a slap in the face for the consumer. |

I have a T-Mobile contract and use a Qtek 8500 (which they don't support). I'd previously set up all the GPRS and MMS stuff before, but neglected to write down the settings I had the occasion to update my ROM to the latest Qtek version today (3.6.251.0) and of course wiped all my settings... Cue time to start trawling the 'net to find the appropriate settings again. After what seemed like a monumental amount of effort (there seemed to be a lot of conflicting websites), I collated all the relevant info and thought I'd post it here in an effort to spare someone else my pain. CODE GPRS Internet Go to Settings -> Connections --> GPRS Create GPRS connection called 'GPRS Internet' Connects to: The Internet Access point: general.t-mobile.uk User name: user Password: wap DNS and IP blank GPRS MMS service Go to Settings -> Connections --> GPRS Create GPRS connection called 'Picture Message' with following settings... Connects to: WAP Network Access point: general.t-mobile.uk User name: user Password: wap DNS and IP blank Goto MMS account and choose Menu --> Options --> Account options... Then choose --> MMS --> Menu --> MMSC Settings --> Menu --> New Name: Picture Message MMSC URL: http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002 WAP Gateway: 149.254.210.135 Port: 8080 Connect Via: WAP network Max Sending Size: 300k WAP Version: WAP 2.0 Press Done and then select the new connection. Press Menu --> Set as default These settings seem to work ok for me. Just remember to look out for the difference between the t-mobile.uk and t-mobile.co.uk in the settings above. If you mix them up or get them wrong (like I did), it won't work Hope this helps someone |

Awesome. I had bluetooth paired with my mate's piece of crap Sony Ericsson and lost all my numbered shortcuts. I'd ticked the 'Input Device' setting too. Removed the pairing, reboot, sorted. Damn, I like this forum |

Actually, there was one other thing too. Is there any chance you could make the visual alert more prominent? The audio alert quite often gets drowned out by my exhaust and the phone is not in my direct line of sight due to dashboard restrictions. Could there be an option to, say, flash the entire background red? This would likely catch the eye a little better than the red square in the current version. These two requests make me sound like a whiner! Not intentional, I think this is a great app. I could just do with a couple of tweaks to make it better for me |

OK, so I tried a workaround for this problem. It didn't work, but not for the reasons I expected! So, I copied the "qf" file and the contents of "Program Files\Smart2Go" from my mini-SD to an old full-sized SD card that I had in my camera for which I do have a reader for. I also re-created the directory structure. Hey presto, Maploader detected the card Way to go, Nokia coders. Back to square one. |

Um, just 'cos I have a reasonably quick car and when I'm on track (I do the occasional track day), it might be nice to see just how quick I actually went, rather than guessing. I certainly don't want to be glancing at my phone whilst travelling at a fair pace. |

Hi Paul Could you consider the following as a feature request please? A menu option to recall the maximum speed attained with a reset option. This would be quite useful for me. Thanks. Great piece of software btw dude |

This software is actually not bad, especially for free. I do have an issue however, and there's no way to get tech support on their site. You can give them feedback, but it states that they won't enter into correspondence... Does anyone know if there's any way to bypass the maploader software? I'm not on a flat rate data plan and I don't have a card reader that will do a micro-SD card. The maploader also doesn't recognise my card when it's in the phone and plugged into the PC via USB. So... screwed for advance download of the UK maps. |
