I received my shiny new S710 today (replacing my imate sp5) i am having terrible problems with bluetooth and my car kit (Parrot Ck3100 with latest software) The phone connects and syncs ok but disconnects after a few mins and refuses to connect again. I have an old motorola h605 headset that shows similar problems of not connecting or dropping the connection. The Ck3100 kit has worked faultlessly with my imate sp5 for the last year. Has anyone else had any problems with headsets or car kits?! I have done a hard reset on the S710 and have nothing installed, and also disconnected the power to the CK3100 for 1/2 an hour before attempting to re setup the pairing iain |

Any clues as to where to find that option? "known issue" ? Great, guess they don't test these products at all. Roll on a Nokia HSDPA device, and I can sell this ;-) start > settings > system > Power > Advanced then untick the turn off device if not used for (battery one) then when you get in the car turn on the phone and then let the screen go of rather that pressing the power button. prob is battery goes down quick... best solution is to get a car charger or cradle with power ---------- nokia! think they have had their fair share of firmware issues ;-) |

No ideas.... Would be interesting to see if anyone with a TyTN has had the problem, or with any newer ROM builds. P I had many phone calls with t-mobile over the bt issue with my mda II, if you connect it to external power in the car or disable the option to turn of the phone when in battery power the bt will stay enabled. I got fobbed of to HTC by tmobile, they were not impressed, but did say it was a known issue that all hermes suffer from |

As long as you have set your device up to sync directly with the server, then it should manually sync (or sync at preset intervals) over a valid wifi connection. As long as you can browse the web via wifi, you can sync. (Its a good idea to turn off direct push though to stop it using the existing gprs connection). over wifi to a server over the internet is no problem, just enable wifi, make sure the wifi has connected(ie check you can browse web) then press sync. problem comes if you are in the office/home trying to sync to you own server via wifi.. as you wont be able to connect.. as most routers wont allow you to go in and out of port 80 so your phone wont be able to see the exchange.. you can get round this by setting the dns routing tables to internaly point your domain or external ip to the static ip of your server... took me ages to work out.. was driving me mad not being able to check my mail on my own network |

I was impressed with the Imate ROM for the Wizard. What does it offer for the Prophet that the Orange ROM doesn't? it seems faster to me and as i hate orange it was the easiest way to remove all the orange crap. I notice that tomtom and the car kit seem to run better with the imate rom. I have had problems with the orange rom's on older phones so have upgraded the m600 automaticly to the imate rom. |

I use Emtac BTGPS with TomTom 5 and a Jabra 250v at the same time on a regular basis with a Dopod 818 Pro. Since that device is identical to the Orange M600, I imagine it'll work on there too spv m600, bt gps and bt car kit worked ok with the crap orange rom , and work with the aku2 imate jamin rom i have on now. |

Hello all, I'm thinking of replacing my Nokia6230i and Dell X30 (with TomTom) for an SPV M600. I have an advanced Nokia Carkit that will allow me to connect to the M600 via bluetooth but I also use a Bluetooth GPS unit for my TomTom5 on the Dell when driving. Can I have 2 bluetooth devices running on the M600 at the same time?? I see to remember reading something about using different bluetooth ports on other devices can make this possible. Has any one any experience of this?? Any help would be appreciated I'm looking to upgrade today. cheers. Yes, i have a sony ericsson hcb-30 bluetooth car kit and a holux bluetooth gps and i can talk and navigate with no problems.. I had a 30mins conversion yesterday while driving round with tomtom running with no problems! |

If there is, I haven't found it; I just count on my car kit giving an annoyed BEEEEP if it turns on and doesn't find the phone! On a potentially related subject, I've noticed that there are a few combinations of flashing lights on the front (green and blue alternately, green and blue together, mixture of both and a few with amber as well) - these aren't mentioned specifically in the manual but perhaps one combination indicates whether bluetooth is active or dormant. If you have the dialer screen open you will get the headset icon shown. You wont see anything on the home screen |

Nice work Iain (although I hope I don't have to use your guide!) Any problem with dust under the screen? gerryR thanks gerry, no the screen is sealed with copper and silver foil so I would not expect dust to get in to it. and there is no screen cover ( like the spv c500 and sp3/5 have ) to get dust under.. It was much harder than stripping a laptop! |

I'm a newbie when it comes to pda's. Can anyone tell me how I remove the orange task bar from the side of the screen? I know this would invalidate the warranty. is it something to do with flashing the ROM? How do I do this? Many thanks. you can flash with the imate firmware to remove all branding, but i am sure if you go to settings and select today , and pick windows default it should remove the orange home screen |

Scraped the front of my 4 day old prophet and it was realy bugging me, Fluffcat1 (richard) came up trumps with a complete new chassis! *****Please remember that this will void your warranty and you must accept liability for any damage you cause***** To change the facia you need a t6 screw driver, a small philips, and a pair of tweasers + the important case opening tool/credit card/plectrum etc 1) Remove the stylus, battery cover , battery ,sim and antenna gromet Gently prise up the antenna cover at the corners where it would meet the battery cover with a small flat blade( it will fold up like a car bonnet!) 2) Remove the 2 screws holding the antenna in and carefully fold it up in (from top of the phone towards the battery end , the end nearest the battery is very tight but will come out if you are carefull 3) Remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the phone (usb end) and then carefully prise the phone open with you plastic case opening tool or suitable alt.. starting half way down the side with the power button and around the top and down other side untill the case opens.. NOW CAREFULLY LIFT THE BACK COVER AWAY FROM THE FRONT AND NOTE THE SHORT SPEAKER CABLE, USE YOU TWEASERS TO CAREFULLY DISCONNECT IT 4) Unscrew the motherboard and switch plate , disconnect the small ribon cable to the switches fold the motherboard over (to expose the screen at 90deg to the screen cable) and remove the switchboard and buttons 5) The screen is just clipped and folds out from the bottom of the phone to the top 6) Move the vibra motor, buttons and speaker (keep the speaker in the same positon ie dont turn it! so the connectons line up) in to the new facia 7) carefully rebuild in the reverse order and test. Just go slowly and make sure you ground your self to get the static out of you before you start and dont force anything.. and it works 100% then I put the imate rom on If an admin could make this a sticky it would help other people in the future Iain |

Is it possible to get the Clock to show on the top bar as it was in PC2003? WM5 has replaced the clock with a battery icon which isnt very informative as its only a 2 stage indicator. go start > settings > Clock & Alarms, select the more tab and then click Display the clock on the title bar |

Have setup my bluetooth receiver and can only pick outgoing ports 6 or 7 problem is tomtom only list com ports 0 1 3 9 if you edit \Program Files\Navigator\navigator.cfg with a suitable hex editor you will see some hex code and for example com1 change the value to the out going port that you have used and copy the navigator.cfg back to your device. When you open tomtom up it will then see you bt gps on the previously unselectable port!!! |

QUOTE(Crispy @ Apr 8 2006, 08:32) I've had the rom on my C600 for a few weeks and I haven't noticed it doing that. Asuming that you have proper coverage, no programs that might intercept keys and so on it does sound like some very strange bug... Just a random idea; have you tried to enable "all keys answer" and answering the call with another button? I have noticed on my sp5 since putting on the latest rom for push email, also happens at the same time that your speed dials stop working.. Has done it several time but is ok after a reboot.. |

QUOTE(davejerome @ Sep 7 2005, 14:13) I too am in the actually the same position (including the theft). I do however believe you are living in a world of dreams at the moment! If however i figure out how this canl be done i will inform you specially i know the anger that a stolen phone causes. However if you look through the forum there are many ways to remove nearly almost everything orange from the phone. there must be alternative firmwares for the c550 as i-mate and qtek have the same phone branded differently |

Switched off my 2 month old c500 last night and connected it to the charger, to my horror it was dead this morning. Got to work and took it in to out lab, tested the battery and it showed 2.7v instead of 3.7. Connected a 3.7 supply to the phone's battery contacts and it booted and connected to o2 first time. Put the battery in and it drew 1.2 amps from the psu and turned the phone off... Phone works fine with a co workers battery. Called HTC (after orange said take a hike) and they are sorting a new battery out for me, but strangly said that the batterys only have 6months warantee! |
