As the original thread to which this post referred has been deleted, this post has been removed by me as being largely useless. I can only assume that MoDaCo received a complaint about the content of the original thread. Of course, me removing this doesn't stop people reading the quoted replies of my original post, so if you've just decided to look at this thread: Move along now, nothing to see here! Let me just reiterate, it's really not worth updating your phone to the Cingular ROM 1.30 if you don't have a Cingular phone, unless your firmware's really old and, if so, you'd be better off waiting for an official firmware update from Motorola. QUOTE(enjoythemusic @ Feb 23 2005, 20:03) Was a silent lurker but did want to thank you as i have the device now working as a modem. If i may, a brief amendment to your suggestion. What worked for me is not your suggestion but: AT+cgdcont=1,"IP","WAP.CINGULAR","",0,0 This can be seen at http://www.ppcw.net/index.php?itemid=1369&catid=4 My humble apologies of the 'bad netticate' for linking to another website. i did not write the above article, have no relation/financial/etc to it. Basically, used YOUR settings for username and password BUT used AT+cgdcont=1,"IP","WAP.CINGULAR","",0,0 . Also, there was no need to make ANY changes to the MPx220 config on the Cingular phone itself (with newest firmware). The phone itself was already configured properly. All i needed to do was enable the Modem Link on the phone and then plug in the Data Cable to my computer that already had the proper MPx220 modem driver as supplied from the Motorola website at http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/hellomoto/...h/default.shtml Cannot get this to work on UK Vodafone either from a PDA or a PC. The PC gets reasonably far, initiates and keeps a connection though it appears as dial-up (2 way arrows) rather than GPRS (Square with G in it) at the top right on the signal icon. The iPaq (4150) has a lot less luck, just comes back after a while saying "username or passwor wrong, reset hardware if still not working after changing username and password" or words to that effect. Tried: +cgdcont=1,"ip","internet" AT+cgdcont=1,"ip","internet" AT+cgdcont=1,"ip","internet","",0,0 AT+cgdcont=1,"ip","internet",0,0 AT+cgdcont=1,,"internet","",0,0 In case you haven't guessed, Voda UK's APN is "internet". Tried the correct username and password for GPRS (works fine from PDA to other phones.) Always used *99#. Disabled various other dial up options, LCP Extns, Mulitlink, TCP Header Comp, etc. No avail. Tried putting in a DNS server and proxy (the proxy used by Voda in their GPRS settings.) STILL no joy. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? |

No, the idea is to turn your bluetooth headset off when not in use. All phones I've tried with bluetooth headsets work the same way. If the headset is on and connected to the phone, all calls will go to the headset. |

QUOTE(sullivanpt @ Oct 26 2004, 17:17) You DO want to pair up your PC and phone to use DUN on a COM port before you try BT AS (DUN is a superset of SPP). Not necessary. I did all of my BT pairing from the MPX220, did no DUN set up at all. Performed the following actions: Set PC to discoverable. From MPX220 Start, 8, 8, Menu, Devices, Menu, New, selected the PC, entered passkey. Entered same passkey on PC, as usual. Selected not to use PC as headset on MPX220. Confirmed pairing. Then opened ActiveSync on MPX220 with Home, Start, 9, 1. Then Menu, 3. Selected to allow connection on PC, and to always allow. ActiveSync then connected. This using Belkin BT USB adapter and Belkin drivers F8T003_V2 on XPSP1. Freakstone |
