My the faceplate on my audiovox smt5600 is all banged up and looks really ugly....i want to replace it but ive been looking for a silver OEM faceplate like the one from orange, qtek, or SP3......does anybody know where i can get a silver faceplate for to put on my phone...i think it looks nicer than the black housing.....thanks! (i checked ebay and nothing)

yeah your right....i dont know why they made you pay 50 dollars when everyone else is getting the smt5600 for free through cingular warranty exchange program...and as far as insurance goes, i dont think you have it thats impossible becuase they dont offer it on these phones....if you call cingular and ask them about insurance they will say you should not have it and they will reinburst you for all the months you have been paying insurance for.

ive been looking everywhere and i cant find a holster for my smt5600.....do they make like a belt clip or holster that i can use....im trying to find one that holds the whole phone with a clip on it? if anyone knows of anything besides a stick on clip please let me know thanks!!! ive looked on ebay and nothing

to get a new phone you dont use the cingular insurance.....you use the cingular exchange program, which is different from insurance

the battery life is supposed to be better, but i have noticed no big difference maybe a little better....for me, if i can get by through the day with the battery then its no problem because i charge it every night anyway....yeah you have to send the mpx220 back in the same box the new phone comes in......it comes with all instructions on what to do and its free to send it back you dont pay anything.

Yeah just call and then tell them your problems they should refer you over to "cingular exchange" and from there they ask some questions about the problems you are having if they try to fix it and it keeps doing it again call them back and the second time they wont even ask questions they will just replace it...make sure you ask them what phone you will be getting...becuase they will probably say that the mpx220 is on backorder and they are waiting for it (its been on backorder for about 2 months so i doubt it will ever get here) so just tell them that you prefer the audiovox......as far as voice command i dont know if the audiovox has it becuase i dont care to even use that feature so i havent even checked.....as far as lesser quality you dont have to worry about that...the audiovox is in my opinion way better quality...the screen is bigger, calls are louder, speakerphone works great, camera is decent, video recorder is way better than the mpx, never has any shut off problems, never locks up, it comes with STEREO headsets for mp3's and making calls... do this, when you get your audiovox, play with it for a day then go back and look at your mpx220 and you will see the difference in screens trust me its amazing what .2 inches of bigger screen does.....overall its a more pleasant phone to use you will love it.

i dont think so, but you can download betaplayer and it will play your acc/m4a files without converting anything....plus i think betaplayer sounds better than wmp10 because wmp10 doesnt have enough bass, the highs are stronger and it hurts my ears....in betaplayer you can use the equalizer to adjust the sound.

thanks...i guess ill use wmp10...the quality seems really good....its just that with my old phone i had wmp9 and the quality on betaplayer was way better than wmp9.....but with wmp10 on this new phone the quality seems great i thought maybe it would be even better on betaplayer but ill use wmp10 for movie clips that wont be a problem....thanks

the clips are in wmv format...they play in windows media player ....but then i try to open in it in betaplayer and it wont recognize the file?

Hi, i just got this audiovox today i was using mpx220 before...anyway im having trouble playing movie clips on betaplayer....they work on windows media player but betaplayer wont recognize it ....does anyone know how to fix this problem...please help

just got the audiovox today and just messing with it i already notice a difference from the mpx...this is much more pleasant to use.....camera is better, video camera is better, wmp10 is awesome, its easy to adapt to because we are all familiar with windows mobile...biggest drawback that is that its not a flip phone and some people wont use anything else but a flip phone.

yeah it took forever to get mine so i called them again and this time they said that they are still waiting on the mpx's to come in and i said that i dont want to wait anymore so he offered me the audiovox smt5600...i just checked the tracking number and it will be here tomorrow. i dont mind getting the audiovox since i heard so many great things about it...

I just called "cingular exchange" and yeah its true....the guy told me that the phones have been on backorder and were taking too long to come in and they got too behind with people waiting for their phones so instead they are sending out the smt5600....he said i should get mine by the end of the week.....now that they are doing this i seriously doubt they will ever bring back the mpx220.

mine is being replaced too using the "cingular exchange program"....my phone kept messing up so i called and they said they would replace it....this was last week and the lady said "oh the mpx's are on backorder right now so its going to be a week for you get your new phone"......well its been a week and i havent heard anything or recieved anything but i want to give them a little more time just in case...but she didnt say anything about getting a audiovox 5600.....if thats the case then i wont mind at all ....im willing to try out a new smartphone.....if i dont get an email by tmw (they said they would email me when the item was shipped) then i am going to call them back and see whats going on.....

well i know that other cingulars users in my area (norcal) were complaining about not being able to make any calls but i thought it was different from mine because mine said "error".....it might be that, but once i tried making a call with my phone and didnt work and immidiately used my friends cingular samsung phone and it did work ..i was pretty pissed off about that....but if towers are the case then i hope they put some more up asap because like i said earlier its extremely frustrating when you keep trying to call out and it wont go through....

IVE BEEN HAVING A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH DIALING OUT! I KEEP GETTING AN ERROR UNABLE TO MAKE PHONE CALL!!! AND IT JUST BEEPS AND GOES BACK TO THE HOMESCREEN!.....ANYBODY ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX IT!!

thats why i dont understand.....how come some people were denied insurance and others were not......the only thing i could think of is that when the phone first came out they didnt offer it due to the price but once the price came down recently they offered it???? ...anybody else have problems with insurance on their mpx220

yeah, ive read that people were getting screwed when they lost their phone...once they called, cingular said that they shouldnt have had insurance on the phone to begin with because that phone is not covered by insurance and neither is the razr....so they refunded their insurance payments...i know for sure that the razr is not covered because my friend has it and they wouldnt give it to him......im going to call today and find out....but if anybody knows otherwise please post...

ive read on other posts that cingular doesnt offer insurance on the mpx220 ?? but i ordered insurance with my phone and they didnt say anything about no insurance being offered on this phone?.....does anybody else have insurance on their cingular mpx220? or am i paying for nothing? can someone respond with their experience on getting insurance for their mpx220 before i call cingular....

i upgraded too....the main thing i noticed was the speaker volume...its a significant difference than 1.30 rom.....1.30 is the only rom that ive tried so i dont know if 1.43 is comparible to others but 1.43 is louder than 1.30

i have a 512mb mini sd card on my phone....i would rather go with PQI instead of Sandisk...ive heard a lot of people having problems with Sandisk...I have a PQI and it works perfect....and yeah 128 is small....so i wouldnt go with anything less than 512mb if you are planning to put a lot of music and movies on there....i got my 512mb on ebay for about $55 but i think they are a little cheaper now....
