What provider are you using? Have you got access to another sim on a different network you could try? I see a lot of people mention problems with the reception maybe a firmware upgrade once made available could fix this I have noticed in the past that HTC phones when switching from GSM to 3G and vice versa wasn't very good and I would get disconnected from calls. |

Strange as my sources say X1 will not release on tmobile they will stock the HTC Pro under the MDA brand. The pro has currently got end of Nov earlie Dec release at the moment. A firmware problem with the tmobile firmware was the reason for the delay but I think that is a bit of a cover up. They seem to have shifted focus to the G1 as they will sell a lot more of these than high end phones smart tactics Tmobile (maybe) |

Would like to ask if anyone using the touch flow cab is having issues with the device crashing? I am just in two minds to install this or not? |

Opera on HTC Diamond image compression on both internet explorer and Opera. Installed NetFront Browser for Pocket PC 3.5 Concept Version and all images look really good I was shocked. Is there any way to get better image quality on the htc diamond using the latest Opera? Provider tmobile I know they use image compression I have managed to get around this on my macbook using my usb modem. |

Have to agree mine went back after 1 day of play. Car kit was terrible bluetooth issues. When you pick up the kaiser it feels solid in the hand this feels really bad. I would advise people to wait for the P750. |

Vario III is by far the worst loud speaker quality I have had on any device. HTC are aware of the problem and did say a simple upgrade would not resolve the issue. Most people use Bluetooth headsets so most of us will have to live with it. Bit of a shame. |

This must be a hardware issue as I have been using my pre-production model for a few months now on tmobile. And my final product for a few days and have no problems at all over 3G on tmobile. I work in london also and travel from surrey every morning with no trouble with drop calls. Hope you get it back soon. |

Got mine this morning will upload some pictures when I am at home toninght there will probably be loads of pictures by then :-), I must say I prefer my black Kaiser to the Silver colour of the vario may grow on my with tiime, Speed wise the HTC rom seems a little quicker. It looks like the long wait is over now. Stuck my 2gb micro card in and installed all my cabs so it is set up the same way as my Kaiser. Looks like tmobile will do well with this handset. |

Paul, I've got a question for you. I'm about ready to get my first WM phone. I've placed the HTC Advantage X7501 on order at Amazon for $850. I really like the size of the screen and that it's got VGA. A faster processor is nice too with the extra memory. What I'd like to know is would you recommend the Kaiser over the X7501 and if so why? I'm new to mobiles and would appreciate your input. I know that the Kaiser is smaller (a plus for it and a minus for the X7501) but it seems the X7501 beats it in all other specs. Am I missing something or not paying attention to things I should? Thanks again for the review and updated info. This really helps! Depends what your needs are, I would go for the Kaiser over any other pocket pc on the market. Reason excellent Keyboard, GPS, WM6, Small enough to be pocketable (Size & Weight) there are many more pros. Can be used like a regular phone. The HTC Advantage X7501 is more like a laptop so if you need the more power features it has I would go for that device. For me out on the weekends couldn't see myself with the Advantage casue of the size and having to carry around a headset or a bluetooth headset would put me off. Most of the people than own devices like this have more than one phone a smaller devices for when you need it. |

Getting TomTom to work on the Kaiser. 1) Install Tom Tom on your device the version I used was 6.030 2) When configuring the GPS select other NMEA GPS receiver Click select 3) GPS baud rate should be left on default which is 4800 click done 4) Kaisers GPS works on com4 if setup correct you will see a orange led light which flashes every 6-8 seconds. There you have it enjoy TomTom on your Kaiser Screen captures below. I was in my house and it picks up two satellites which is pretty good. You will require a GPS enabled rom, I had some good news this morning it looks like HTC are trying to get a deal with TomTom and the Kaiser will be released in to flavours standard/pro. Standard will included no GPS software but GPS enabled and the Pro will included TomTom and maps for you region so there will be two prices. This deal is not set in stone but very close. This deal will be great for HTC and TomTom :-) Well I was out most of last night in the car testing it and it works perfectly HTC are on to a real winner. This phone is in a different league to the Iphone. |

I have had a few people requesting the roms from me now and I send the same message out every time, so please do not PM or ask on the forums about roms/upgrades. People that have the Kaiser and get regular rom updates are intended to have them as well as he device. I have signed agreements with HTC not to distribute. The phone is not officially released these prototypes are for test purposes only. Thanks for being understanding about this issue. |

I think the G900 will be a lot more expensive, but that's just a guess at this point, based on early pricing of G900's in the UK. No word yet on Kaiser pricing, but I expect it will be less. I can assure you the Kaiser will be more than £400 hence making it more expensive than the G900. Took some screen shots of the new rom in action. I haven't got much time on my hands at the moment so this little update should keep you happy till Paul goes into all the detail. It is getting very much touch user friendly. For a lot of the tasks I just use my finger saves getting out the stylus. I never really use screen protectors but I may start lol. There is a nice Weather today plugin also. I must say big improvement over the last rom. |

what about cingular? wont they get it first before t-mobile UK does? mikeeey I am from the UK lol, The way things are going for the USA I think they may be released there after the UK , The UK are pushing for 3G handsets more and more now. All the Tmobile reps I speak to are all waiting for the Kaiser. You should see some of the emails flying around the departments. I know the roms are being developed a lot quicker here than the USA currently. The HTC roms a looking fantastic though Paul will tell you all about it hint hint lol |

I had a few Kaisers that I got today and guess what they all had Tmobile roms still in the beta stages but the roms are great a lot better than the first ones. They have all got the pink and white custom screens very similar to the Vario II, Still very earlie. I am telling you when tmobile release this there first batch will sell out within the first few hours. Tmobile - Vodaphone are the ones which should get the device first. Orange - o2 are yet confirm. |
