Great, now I have the same problem, but my Graphite is a replacement and came with WM6 on it already, its NOT an update. Wi-Fi worked fine at first but not now. I ll try the hard reset, but as it came with WM6 out of the box I recon it might be a bug with WM6. I dont want to have to do a hard reset every few weeks.

I dont have to remind anyone how pathetic the battery life is on the Graphite, but I ve found a solution-just search "xda graphite battery" on e-bay and your ll see 1300mAh (standard 1100mAh) batteries for sale for just 9 GBP!-The difference is amazing, it charges faster and holds power for longer-I got over 48hrs on a single charge, including 50 mins calls, 30 odd texts, 5mins games and 5 mins with the camera. That still might be crap compared with other phones but its way better than the standard battery, which would need a charge within 24hrs with that lot.

Still no luck with MMS settings though-Why wont it work??? mad.gif

Does anyone know how to successfully change the MMS settings on a Graphite?-I ve tried to change the settings to Orange MMS manually and using the "Orange_Uk_by_rabdo" cabinet file thats doing the rounds (it installs all the correct settings) but all I ever get is "not all messages could be sent/received please try again". Nothing works, all the settings are correct I ve checked and re checked, but it will not do MMS on Orange for some strange reason. I ve had it since March and I ve not managed to send or receive one MMS-Anyone got any suggestions??

No apps on mine either...

Leaving O2 for Vodafone anyhow. Their v1415 (HTC S710) is gonna be the dogs!!! http://www.htc.com/product/03-product_s710.htm

It cant be the dogs, it hasnt got 3G and its almost as heavy as a pda!-Best wait for the 3G version-The HTC Wings (S730), out July. It will also have:

a 400 mhz processor (S710 200 mhz)

built in GPS

a flash on the camera

weighs 120 g (S710 weighs a hefty 140g!)

seperate audio and gaphics controllers

Right, I see. I ve never come across that myself, but it sounds like interference similar to what you get if the mob goes when you re on the landline. It wont affect the battery life though, thats just bad design!

And the lens is recessed so it collects dust. Pull it out to take a pic and...it comes out all blurred cos of the cr*p thats colected in the recess.

I ve got mms problems-Cant get mms at with my Orange SIM-It needs to connect to "orange mms" but the phone wont let you create your own connection-You can only use the internet/wap/secure wap or work. Mine has "O2 setup/installation type" an app which sets the GPRS/WAP settings (for O2 only), it has the "coporate "and "basic" setting you mentioned with out the need for soft resetting...

"Basically, the moniter at work was flickering like crazy, in true incoming call style"

Dont really get what you mean here-Do you mean the multi-coloured "processor working" icon that apears in the middle of the screen?-If you do, whilst it can be on for a while-maybe 10 secs at most, it wouldnt really affect the batt life. And if its on longer I think theres something wrong with it!-I always close all applications with task manager or OxiosCloseApps when I ve finished using the phone, but I still get crap batt life.-Or have I got it wrong and you meant something else?!

QUOTE(harrysaab @ Mar 19 2007, 12:20) *
hi

i managed to download the latest version of tcpmp player, it works fine now smile.gif
when i goto Settings/General, it says Clock speed: 104MHz (it keeps changing, sometimes says 315MHz, 455Mhz, 420MHz etc... - i thought its 416MHz :S

The processor's maximum clock speed is 416 mhz. But processors (in PDAs Smartphones and PCs) dont operate at max speed all the time, it depends how much work they are doing. When TCPMP measures the clock speed it measures it at the precise moment you press "settings". If TCPMP is not doing anything or you re only viewing a picture, then it l give a low reading, as the processor isnt doing much work, just enough to keep windows and background processes running etc. If you hit "settings" when you re viewing a video, you ll get a higher reading cos the processor is doing more work playing back the video.

I dont know how accurate TCPMP's readings are, though-I got a reading of 680 mhz the other day !

What does everyone think of it overall, then?

I was quite impressed initially.

But the battery life is pathetic managing 48 hrs on standby NOT the 220 hrs quoted, and if you make calls, (even on GSM only) you barely get an hour talktime in 18 hrs without it dropping to below 25%

I m having problems with bluetooth as well-it wont detect other devices most of the time.

And wifi works but I cant get internet explorer to use it, it always tries to use GPRS

Whats apn?-Access point number? (ie IP address?)-I ve created a new GPRS setting but it wont work-It seems to be because you cant put in "orange mms" as the access point, it ll only let you have the 4 options in there already (work, the internet, wap, secure wap).

The menus are slightly different to the SPVs and I can only assume its something to do with the O2 InstallationType app wich does the settings itself.

I suppose you could say all WM devices have "self diagnostics" and "GPRS monitor", but I ve definately not got the others maybe I m missing them but, I ve looked everywhere and cant find them.-Whereabouts are they, in the start menu?

O2 are trying to fob me off by saying those are only available in Asia-Are you in the UK, utp_ and harrysaab??
