I always used to use pocket mac, which seemed to be more reliable than Active sync, however they don't support WM5, however around the time i changed to the C600, and then the M3100 i also changed my laptop to an intel one, and now use parallels and use XP on mac solely to sync my phone. It really depends on which mac you have but you could try my work around. rob |

I have just taken delivery of a new mini that has built in bluetooth, and have sucessfully paired my girlfriends 6230i with it, however when I try and pair my hermes, it recognises it, but not as a headset, as a computer, is there something that I am doing wrong? The list in the user guide is very limited (6230i, 6310, 8800, Chocolate & razor) so am unsure if this is a full list or only the phones that have been tested. Since the car is so new (I think it was only released in December) the dealer cannot help me, so was wondering if anyone here can. Thanks in advance Rob |

Ive used two different mac sync programmes, Missing Sync and Pocketmac. Found a great deal of problems a while back when i was using Missing Sync (even more unreliable then active sync) so switched over to pocket mac which worked fantastically, unfortunately though they dont yet support WM5 which is a real pain. My work around was to install boot camp with XP and use active sync on that, not ideal but it works, but then I only sync to back up dont do it on a daily basis more like weekly if anything. In my opinion I would hold out and wait until pocketmac releases a compatable version. Hope it helps Rob |

I used to use missing sync/pocket mac, found both very poor and used boot camp. Anyhow I found that to install applications that were .cab, the best way to do it was to send it using bluetooth or an email (as many of the cabs i have come across have been small), and then installing it on the device itself. You will get a message saying something similar to "The device does not accept this file type" but gives you the option to "Send Anyway" and then it will appear as a cab in your "My Documents", just click to install. Hope this helps Rob |

Please tell me if this is a stupid question, over the years I have had a number of windows mobile phones, starting from the original SPV to the new 3100, however any one that had wifi would not allow me to connect to orange world, which is a pain as i find it a great resourse, mainly because it can be personalised and it has been made to fit the screen of the phone. So is there any way that orange world could be viewed over wifi, and if not, is there any other alternative that people are using. Many thanks Rob |

Yay Finally got it working, I looked on the XDA developers site and downloaded an external rom with the Quickmark software in it (infact its still open http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?p...s_ExtendedRoms) and its under the Dopod 838 rom. I downloaded that and then just installed the quickmark cab and the other quickmark cam thing (NOTE Make sure the cam patch is installed first). Then it all worked perfectly. Only took hours Hope it helped Rob |

You don't even need any software, I have set up the voice command button as the screen orientation button instead, in settings/buttons Rob |

Many thanks for your help with my previous question. I now have a problem concerning email, I always used to use the outgoing server as smtp.orange.net to send my email (im a blueyonder user) using GPRS, now this seems not to work, when I use smtp.blueyonder.co.uk, the email just bounces back when using GPRS but not wifi, so could someone explain what i am doing wrong. Also the email recieveing is fine Many thanks Rob |

Hi, I may sound stupid, I've been using a windows mobile forever, since the original SPV, and took delivery of the new M3100 this morning. I have a few questions, as this is the first proper phone that I have used with WM5 (C600 is not the same). 1) I can't seem to find an explanation on how to set up direct push email, is this just a posh term of what windows mobile has always had (ie Auto send/recieve every X mins)? 2) I also cannont find MSN mobile or any varients that have been in the past. Any help on these would be much appreciated. Many thanks |

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, broke my last SPV C600, had it replaced today, and whilst putting it back to its usual setup i noticed the communications manager had changed, and there is a new item called "Microsoft Direct Push" i assume that it is connected to Push E-mail, but it will not allow me to select it. Any ideas as this could mean the end of me carrying a blackberry, many thanks Rob |

I often use orange word, as it seems to be a very good information portal, that has been designed for a mobile screen. Im not sure if it is possible but can any settings be changed to make it accessible via wifi? or another solution, are there any similar sites? Many thanks Rob |

Im an existing orange M2000 (Blue angel) user, but have found that it is too large for what I am using it for. Is the Magician as good as the Blue Angel, i know the magician has no Wifi which i think i will miss, but Orange have allowed me to keep my Blue angel so this may not be such a big problem. I actually wanted the new one, not sure what the HTC model is but its the XDA mini on O2 and the imate Kjam, but was told that i would have to wait for it to come out on orange, so im not taking that. My main question though is will i be able to use xBackup on my Blue Angel and restore it on the magician, the reason that i am asking this is because i am a mac user and have never had any need to sync but i use xBackup every week, if anyone knows the answer to this their help would be very appreciated. Many thanks Rob |
