Turn the advanced functionality off in USB-To-PC in connection settings. That will change it from a network connection (that your firewall might be blocking) and it will make a serial connection instead.

This worked a treat - thankyou so much!

i can now access my phojne via the pc again ;-)

I have been searching modaco and the web fr 30 mins now looking for either a manual for e650 or s710, or instructions on how to change the text input method preference so that each time i start typing it defaults to ABC ad no t9.

I have just hard reset my phone and now cannot find the setting to do this!

can someone point me in the right direction please?

thanks :-0

Whe i connect my e650 to my vista pc (usb), Windows Mobile Device Center will no longer launch. I have also tried this on another pc.

I have reinstalled Windows Mobile Device Center, and also hard reset the phone but it is still the same. I believe this came about after I deleted the sync partnership from 'Sync Center', as it was having some issues, after which it appears there is no way to re-establish a partnership. At least, when i connect the phone as descibed above it is not recognised on the pc, although the phone does charge.

Can anyone help me out? I am unable to put all my contacts back on the phone, or insall anything now!

Thanks

To the people using thier phones for mp3 -

can i ask are you using a mini usb > 3.5mm adapter for headphones etc?

or are you just using the supplied headset?

Only i have bought 2 seperate adapters and both do not work - the audio comes out of the phones speakers. The supplied headset does howver work but the earbuds dont fit my ears.

Not sure if ive been unlucky with 2 defective adpaters or if they simply dont work with the e650.

thanks

could someone post a link to the thread that explains the fix. I have been using the search function for some time now searching on 'tomtom backlight' etc but each time keep getting 1000's posts about tomtom and not about the backlight.

Sorry for my late reply (I switched back to my trusty P4350) but I followed THIS GUIDE
to create the custom adapter and yes it works on both the VoX and the P4350 smile.gif

Please keep in mind that you loose the Mic ability, but that isn't a big thing for me.

I have to say that if I get called the ringtone comes out of the headset AND the speaker, but it seems
to be 'normal' as the default headset also does this by default (on the VoX and P4350) (...oddddd)

Brilliant! thanks for that :-D

Hmmm, I currently use a custom build 3.5mm adapter for my VoX so I can plugin my Sennheiser's,
but the profile doesn't switch.

Does it switch with the default headset? Never checked that actually

RSKillz, does your adapter work? I got one myself but when i plug it in audio still comes out of the phone speakers. When i plug in the supplied earphones they work ok though. Probably a defective adapter but having asked a couple of times on here I havent found anyone who has tried using an adapter for 3.5mm.

Thanks

Hi,

i bought a mini usb / 3.5mm adapter so i can play music from my phone on normal headphones / speakers etc but it does not work (audio still comes from phones speakers).

Has anyone else had one of these working? trynig to figure out if it is a problem with the adapter or another problem with the e650.

btw the bundled heaphones work... however this doesnt help me listen to music through my car stereo / travel speajkers etc...

Thanks

Ive noticed the problem on mye650 too. navigating up to the 'to' field and back down seems to make the cursor appear.

More annoying is that the 1/2sec multipress timeout seems to be MUCH slower than previous smartphones ive owned... Ive always used the lowest setting: 1/2sec, as i use abc input not t9, but the timeout on the e650 seems much slower. anyone else notice this? (ive tried rebooting the phone since i changed the setting in settings\accessibility).

Is there a 'flash' for the camera, or is it just a constant light you have to manually turn on and off?

Hello,

do you know of a way to alter the keypad unlock sequence. At present it is: left softkey then '*' key (sp5m). Unfortunately my '*' key doesnt work anymore and i keep accidentally locking my phone out of habit.

Being an expert in locking thought you could help? Maybe a registry entry that can be changed which holds the keypad unlock sequence i can alter?

Thanks
