I use Outlook for my Calender and Contacts, but I use Thunderbird for my Email...

Does any one know how I can set it up to sync with my c600? Or am I just going to have to use outlook? ;-)

I have OS 5.1.70 Build (14402.1.1.0), what should I do to permanently solve the MMS issue without updating the ROM and losing everything? smile.gif

My c600 has stopped wanting to work via USB...

It just won't sync up with my computer, it makes a "duh duh" style noise, instead of the traditional "do do doo" noise. (What a technical line)

The green activ sync circle just remains grey and when I run the find connections wizard, it can't find my device...

I don't use it for sync up email with Outlook, except for Calender and Contacts, just for it to show up in my computer...

Any help would be massively appreciated...

Cheers

I picked up the moby memory bluetooth dongle, my first bluetooth device for my computer ;-) so excuse the possible idiocy...

Clicky...

But I'll be damned if I can get it to work with my c600, com ports? Com ports!?

Any ideas how I get the blasted thing to sync?

And how I can explore the phone?

The whole software seems elaborately complicated...

I haven't got a passkey on my phone or my computer but they both seem to be asking me for one. Is there a default one?

Cheers in advance!

I'll try this...

Fingers crossed it'll work...

If you get a happy post back in a few hours from me, my internet at home is working...

If not, assume I'm still not a happy bunny and on the verge of kicking the blasted thing...

I knew I was a little addicted to the net, but last night I had nothing to do...

Went for a run, did some weights and then...

...bored...

See the related thread about my wireless internet not working

My PC has AS 4.1 installed, it says that the USB is availible but still won't find the phone.

When I plug the phone in, it says something about a RNDC device and then recognises it as a windows phone. Still doesn't work though...

Any hints/tips/ideas?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum... Any how...

Okay...

Well I got a new phone yesterday, the Orange c600, which is a Windows Smartphone, I plugged it in and then installed the activ sync 4.0 software which came with the phone. The software couldn't find the phone. I then tried to go online to see if any one has had a similar problem. One problem, my internet is now not working, I try on my phone and I see that people have, they recommend that people upgrade to Activ Sync 4.1, as there's been loads of problems with people connecting with Activ Sync 4.0. So I trudge off to Uni to download 4.1, I get home install it, Activsync still won't recongise the phone and my internet still isn't working!

The phone shows up as a network connection, I've uninstalled the phone several times, reinstalled the wireless card driver, switched the modem and router off, followed the NTLworld support lines instructions.

1.Turn PC Off
2.Take power lead out of cable modem
3.Unscrew Co-Axial cable
4.Switch off router
5.Coaxial back into modem
6.Power in modem
7.Wait until SYNC and RDY lights are solid
8.Plug in Router.
9.Start up PC
10. Internet should work... But it didn't.

His reasoning for it not working was that the router has lost the I.P address of the modem.

My internet has ceased working.

I'm still connected to the wireless network we have in our house. We've got a D Link router and I connect though a D Link DWL G120, the network isn't encrypted. I was running zone alarm, but uninstalled it last night incase that was the problem with me connecting. So at the moment I've got no firewall, which isn't that much of a problem seeing as I have no internet.

When I go into Command Prompt and type in ipconfig I just get Windows IP Configuration and nothing else.

When I click on the network icon in the task bar then on the "Support" tab, the connection status fields are all blank.

In the network connections, I've got 1394 Connection 2, Connected 1394 Net Adaptor. Not entirely sure what this is, but it won't disable. Then I've got Local Area Connection 3, Disabled. This is the Ethernet Socket on my computer which isn't used, so I disabled it to make my task bar less cluttered. Then there's the Wireless Network Connection...

On the properties tab, I've got...

Client for Microsoft Networks checked,
file and printer sharing for microsoft networks checked,
qos packet scheduler checked,
NWlink NetBios unchecked,
NWlink IPX/SPX/NetBios Compatable Transport protocol checked,
Microsoft TCP/IP version 6 checked,
and
network moniter driver checked,

on the wireless network properties the network name SSID is default, we've not got the network encrypted, which is a whole other barrel of monkeys. But setting it up with encryption just didn't work. But anyway, it's been working fine unencrypted for the last six months...

On the advanced tab, we've got "Anny availbile network" selected

And "Automatically connect to non preferred networks" unchecked.

That's all I can think of finding...

I've having to trudge to Uni to post this, then trudge back home to work on my dissertation. Any help would be massively appreciated, either in getting my phone to sync or in getting the internet to work. Obviously the internet is the most important thing. I could really do with a helping hand here.

Any more information needed? Just ask...

That's funny, I just got off the phone with them... Well I did about three hours ago...

And I'm a "high value" customer they said, so I'm entitled to a free upgrade now, thee months before my contract ends.

My bills are always in the £45 region a month, which isn't that much of a problem.

It's odd how they work it out.

I think they should really crack out the offers, last year I got moaned at by a phone trainer for doing backdoor upgrade, by getting a new tariff and phone on my existing account, then cancelling my main phone.

O2 aren't exactly much to write home about, nor are vodafone, their both as bad as each other. T Mobiles the only network I've never been on... Unless their amazing I'll be sticking with Orange...

I've currently got a c550, I'm, due an upgrade at the end of January, it's showing £0 for me to upgrade to a c600 now.

My step Dad was due an upgrade with O2 a few months ago, he's been with them for about eight years, and they offered him 18 months half price line rental, cutting his bill from £40 to £20. I've been with orange now for three years and am very happy with my current tariff (the orange student tariff), but wanting to know what they're offering in terms of incentives to people in order to stay.

I'm wanting the c600 and am happy with the tariff I've got, so I don't want to move networks, but if I can get something extra for nothing, then I might as well try...

What have you been offered by orange?

On my c550 the photos and videos are saved to a different folder depending on what day it is, which is alright, but I'd rather have them all saved to a single directory.

Does any one know how to make the phone save it to just a single folder?

Yesterday I've got a free c550, my Uncle was happy with his brick and he was due an upgrade, so he got a c550 for me...

I had a c500 which got smashed to bits at a funfair so I've been using my Mpx200 for the last five months...

Then I read TODAY that the c600 is being released. Only yesterday Orange were telling me that the c600 wasn't going to be released for another couple of months... Grrr...

So I'm thinking that I flog the c550 and get a c600 on my contract. At the moment I can apparently upgrade my phone for £50...

Any one got an idea on how much it's gonna cost me to upgrade my phone to the c600 when it comes out?

At the moment if I upgrade to a c550 it's gonna cost me £50...

Which is pretty cheap in my opinion...

I use Mozilla Firebird for my email, it's pretty much all I want from an email program. I have outlook 2003 on my computer which links up with my c500 for my contacts and my calender, but I don't want to use outlook for my email.

How can I go about setting up my phones email without having Outlook start trying to download my emails?

Hi Guys! I've just got my new phone. The Orange SPV c500, I've got myself a 256MB card and I'm now wanting to watch some movies on the move.

I've got loads of files in a range of formats, but mainly avi and wmv and I want to compress these files down so I can put as much on my card as possible.

At the moment I'm using Windows Movie Maker to compress each file individually, which naturally takes forever.

Can any one recommend (preferrably freeware wink.gif although I'm willing to pay, just not through the nose) some software which can batch process a collection of different files into smaller Smartphone friendly files.

Cheers!
