You know you can also lock the keypad by holding down the (red) end-call button?
At least... that used to be the way on all my previous MS Smartphones and still is on my S710. Can't imagine Orange have changed that for the E650 unsure.gif

I'm going to wait for Brando to come with a device-specific one for the S710.
I have had Brando protectors on all of my devices since day one and there is simply no beating them rolleyes.gif

Little update : Just tried the exact same thing at work (Win XP + Activesync) and the xml is copied to the phone without any comment and it works huh.gif

So it's really my Vista/WMDC knowledge that's screwing things up for me at home...
Anybody know? I can't really do all my homescreen editing at work now can I tongue.gif

Well... there she finally is, the lovely little S710 rolleyes.gif

Now I've been editing homescreen xml's for some time now.. Smartphone 2002, 2003, WM5 and now WM6 on Vista with WMDC. So, of we go : install Facade, snatch full.home.xml from the device and start tweaking it to my personal taste... as always rolleyes.gif
So, first tweaks done, time to have a look at what it looks like on the device. Whats that you're saying mister Vista? "you can copy the file there for storage or transport but you can not use it" (something like that)... and wadda ya know : it doesn't show as a selectable homescreen layout blink.gif
Checked the xml over and over again for syntax or other errors but nothing...

Any idea's ?

I'll have a go at the office tommorow where there's still XP and good old activesync... but if any have an idea as to what I'm missing here I'd love to hear it !

Mine installed just fine, but it refuses to connect to either one of my devices (Qtek 8310 and MDA Vario) unsure.gif
And I was sooo pleased to see they finally upgraded to a version for Vista / Office 2007...

Couldn't find anything about this after a few searches so I'll just pop this question myself:
Anyone already dared to flash a new ROM to a PPC (or Smartphone for that matter) on a Vista PC using the not to brilliant (little understatement there tongue.gif ) Windows Mobile Device Center instead of activesync ?

Just got a Wizard to play around with a bit and after one day the dutch T-Mobile ROM is already annoying me plenty... Time for a nice english Qtek on there me thinks smile.gif

Anyways, back to the issue : anyone tried a ROM upgrade with Vista & WMDC yet?

Thanks mwillie.

That's a beauty you have there, very functional which is what I am trying to acheive. I'm having all kinds of problems with batbar though. It's hanging my 3125, not sure if I'm doing something wrong or its the app??

I want to do the same thing you did with it, JUST the bar, and a % next to it. BUT, I want my bar about 1/2 the height of yours. I'd love to see your calander plugin code, your showing lots of upcoming apt's.

Don't know about your issue on the 3125, the program without any problems on my 8310.. I don't think there's much one can do wrong with the app, have yoy installed on the memory card or internal memory? It's tiny, so I would recommend internal memory. You might also have a look at your code, I imagine that setting the refresh variable to a very short time would cause problems for your phone.. Here's my code, as a reference :

refresh="180" marge_left="2" marge_right="1">

The calendar plugin on my homescreen is SBSH's Facade, an excellent and very customizable homescreen extension, have look if you're interested : http://www.sbsh.net/products/facade/

This problem has re-occured... Seemed to be fine since Xbar 3.2 but now all the same problems as mentioned in the first post are back again. New is that the joystick seems to have troubles aswell, won't go down or click and needs to be forced sometimes. Can't say whether that is relevant for this topic.
I've just deactivated Xbar again, let's see if the problems go away..

. Unfortunately there are no Imate devices in the shelves of the local stores over here. Even Qtek is difficult to find.
That's the essence of what I meant. No where to buy the devices except the internet.. and if you buy your device there you subsequently get clubbed on the head by the manufacturer... Gotta love Qtek blink.gif

Well... I'm getting the same "vendor ID" crap... This kind of pisses me of mad.gif
First Qtek don't bother to make their devices available to people that happen to live elsewhere then Scandinavia and then when one finally has gone through al the hassle of getting ones hands on one (paying a shitload of money for it in the process!) one isn't allowed the first (and very needed) upgrade.
They made money of me for this phone whether it came from Brightpoint or somewhere else so I desirve this ROM as much as the next guy. And I could care less about the so-called Brighpoint service and helpdesk, don't need 'em and never will mad.gif

My next one will be an I-mate.. at least they aren't intend on playing god over the users of their devices.

Thinkin' about getting me one of those very nice Parrot 3200 colourscreen carkits but I started wondering..
Having a nice looking little screen like that in the car, wouldn't that just invite those obscure types to go ahead and break into my car ??
I am parked out on the street in the middle of the city here.. Hence the worry.

Thoughts on the subject ? smile.gif

I can confirm that.. the new xbar seems fine...
although i've been having another 'sound problem'.

I set the key sound from 'click' to 'none' and it keeps changing itself to 'tone'

It's always done that, even after a hard reset.  Anoying as hell!  Anyone else get that?

Another thing, if the volume is set to minimum (the slider shows nothing when you press down volume) it somestimes freaks out and goes super loud.  The only way to fix it is to put the volume to max, make a call and during it decrease the volume.
*

I'll go ahead then and give the Xbar 3.2 beta a shot.
The sound problems you mention are new to me, never had anything like that! But I have the Qtek Tornado variant not the I-mate.. have you updated to the new I-mate ROM? Maybe that will fix the bug..

Sorry for not including a link. I assumed people would just go check out Handango or wherever they normally buy their software from.

You can buy it from the Celeris site above or from Handango. There may be more sources.

The new version is 1.61.

Jason.

Yeah lovely... So I bought this when it came out and now I have to buy it again ?!
There's no mention of an upgrade for existing customers or any mention at all..

Is the 1.61 version QVGA and WM5 compatible ?

Nope, you never get a "negative" notification. You simply get NO notification untill the recipient turns the phone back on and the sms is delivered.
