Go for it i went from 5-6.1 last night, works perfect again i have a sim unlocked device and it did not effect it or revert it back.

I used the xda-devlopers website. Found it very helpful and contains the roms and instructions.

(this is a good site too)

QUOTE(JNGold @ Jan 20 2008, 15:08) *
Do you have your device set up to auto retrieve email or for push email? Or. do you have any apps (ie. like weather) to automatically update? I ask this because if you on an EDGE network and the device is transmitting or receiving data, you will not be able to receive any phone calls during that data session. On 3g UMTS/HSDPA phones, you don't have this issue because the protocol allows for the simultaneous data and voice sessions.

I do have my device setup to check my email so that could be it, however i use gprs rather than edge. Hmm that could be the reason. I never had this issue when i was on a blackberry (again it was a gprs/edge phone not the 3g version)

Hmm. This is gpoing to cause me a few problems i think. Not good. I just have to cange the auto retireve settings i suppose so that it only checks every 30mins rather than 10.

Recently i have found that my touch at times does not ring at all, it often goes straigt to voicemail. Even when i'm in a high signal strength area.

I have tried my sim in another phone for 2 days to see if it was related to that/operator issues and it was fine. Then back into the touch and i have the same issues at times.

it happens more often when i haven't used the touch for a while. But it has only just started doing this. Anyone else having this issue?

I have turned it down but it is still too loud. It never used to be too loud but it is these days. Has anyone else had this problem. It is on it's lowest setting and blasts my ear drums.

I'm thinking of getting an mda mail on t-mobile, but i was thinking is it worth waiting a bit? I know the Kaiser is coming out soon, but i like having the non slide out keyboard, as i have been using a blackberry recently for my work.

I also want to know if you would recommend getting one?

If the battery on the n95 is like the n80 then it will be poor. I get 1 day out of my n80, thats why i use my wm mobile c500 more often.

Bargain! So for the 500Mb/ month I regularly use I would only get charged £387.50
And I couldn't use live messenger?
Thank the gods for T-Mob!

Well that has made my mind up, T-Mobile here i come.

Now i need to decide weather to go now or wait for a new device to appear first. hmmmmm I quite like the MDA mail (excalabur) and it is a free one on the contract that i want.

Hi not sure if this is the best area to post in if not please move me to the appropriate area.

I'm thinking of moving from O2 to T-Mobile as i like their new tariffs and i want to head back to a windows smartphone. :lola:

I have beeen looking around but i have heard people slate t-mobile signal. I live in the london outskirts so i thought i should be ok.

Also my other concern is what device should i go for? Should i go for the vario or the SDA II or the I-mate jam version they offer? I am quite clumsey and i am concerned that i might damage one of the full screen phones, and have a hefty bill for repair.

So please help me by answering some questions....

What is t-mobile like in general?

Is the Vario good quality? Is it a hassle to send a text?

What do you think would be the best device for me? If i got a vario or sda mini (jam) would i find it too big and break it or something? i don't think i could really be hassled with the stylus to make a call.

I currently have a nokia 3260 and that isn't that small mellow.gif

Are the users of the above happy with them?

Are replacements just around the corner?

Thanks for your time in reading this

Well i would go for it just for the fact that i can get it cheaper as an upgrade rather than have to buy one sim free and unlocked.
