QUOTE(xspyda @ Nov 27 2005, 20:04) Since getting hold of my Qtek 9100 I am finding I am using the PC less and less as I can do most things from the armchair! One thing that would improve Modaco to my mind is the ability to fully use these forums in lofi mode - and by that I mean being able to post in lofi as well as read the forums. Could this be added? I am sure I am not alone in pining for such a feature. Thanks... Can I second the request?? Was browsing MoDaCo on the train home the other night and wanted to post a couple of responses but couldn't. |

Is there a add-on/plug-in that will allow this in WM2003SE?? I've got several different images that I'd like to use as today screen imagesbut would like to use all of them, not just one at a time. I normally have the phone sat in it's cradle at work and it acts as a photo-frame as well as everything else. any suggestions?? |

QUOTE(psionandy @ Aug 3 2005, 19:24) Don't think it's possible yet. All of the dab radios (even the pocket ones) are quite large and seem to eat up the juice. The closest is the new pure one £200 but it will record to SD in MP3... so you could use that to record and then play back on your pda... just a thought hmm - cheers Andy, would rather just have a radio card in place so I can listen to tunes on the move - eg traffic reports. (I use the M2K as an mp3 player for my 90minute bike ride to work every day). Doesn't really need to be DAB either tbh. I just find it odd that no-one seems to have considered it. |

Any news on the up to date/Widcomm Bluetooth stack?? |

QUOTE(Fusius @ May 16 2005, 15:24) I didn't. don't see why you'd need one either - it goes in a pocket quite nicely. Mine has started to ignore the phone though when making a new outgoing call. The phone connects and the "headset" icon goes live - but there's no sound from either the phone nor the headset - rather embarrasing really. Can't decide now if it's worth holding onto - the reception from phone to headset is truly awful and it's very susceptible to interference. |

Mine is a "Corsair" that I bought from scan.co.uk for around £45 + p&p. MUCH quicker than the 32Mb one you get from Orange! |

Have you seen those magnesium cases. I was thinking about getting one but nbot sure if it will be too bulky.. do you use a case? I always buy one, use it for about 4 weeks then realise it's a pain in the ass, and by the time the phone is too knackered to use i would have changed it anyway.. or thats what Orange insurance is for Do you mean the Proporta Magnesium cases??? I've had one on order for nearly 3 months.... hopefully will be here soon though!! |

QUOTE(dante98765 @ May 11 2005, 21:29) Lets work on the basis I know nothing. I've just got the SPV M2000 and Wanadoo LiveBox Wireless Broadband in the same week. Orange say they won't give advice on Wifi and Wanadoo say they don't give advice on 3rd party machines! So, according to the SPV, it knows about the wireless connection and even says it's connected. But every internet site I load it says it's not available. Clearly the settings are wrong. Can someone please tell me, as if speaking to a 3 year old, what to do. Thanks Are you ABSOLUTELY sure you're connected to the router??? Sometimes it looks like you are, but in fact you're not. Try ActiveSynching through your PC and if you can browse that way, then it's your wi-fi connection. |

I currently use one of these with a HTC Blue Angel : Orange SPV M2000 to be exact. The "Make a new call to one of the numbers that have already rung you" doesn't work. The Quality of the reception is haphazard at best - do NOT let the phone get more than a metre away from the headset, and if the phone is in your pocket, you have to keep the headset on the same side of your body if you want ANY cohesive form of conversation. When you are rung, it takes about 10 seconds for the headset to synch with the phone actually open up the connection, this is a bit weird for the caller because they get 10 seconds of silence after you "answer" the call. The "Caller ID" function is only useful if you can actually remember numbers - I use the phone's systems to attach a name to a number so don't HAVE to remember numbers!! Haven't tried voice control of the phone through it yet - don't have Voice Control installed. Overall - 5/10 from me - it's a nice unit, the functionality is pretty good, and it's a funky gadget, but it promises FAR more than it actually delivers. |

QUOTE(vinceh @ Apr 23 2005, 01:56) It looks like you guys haven’t read the posting at all well, if at all. Let me list the M2000 problems. I’m on my second replacement now and they are all the same: 1. Hard factory resets for no reason about once a week. 2. Soft resets for no reason about every 2 days. 3. Caller ID only works very occasionally. 4. About 40% of the time in a call the speaker does not work (they can hear you but you can’t hear them). 5. The ring repeats every 3 seconds, much too long – OK so you can correct that with a regedit but it resets to default on every soft reset. 6. The vibrate is much too soft. 7. You have to go to ‘contacts’ to find a number to make a call, possibly the worst written interface on the planet. 8. Every time you turn it on you have to type in a password (a fix) or it will call New York in your pocket if you don’t have the password set to 0 minutes prompt. 9. It will call New York or connect to the internet in your pocket even if you have done the above after an alarm goes off. 10. The battery only lasts for a day and a half. 11. ‘Page not found’ 90% of the time if you type in a web address and use the green arrow next to the address bar (not the case if you use ‘return’) 12. 20% of the time can’t answer a call when you press the green-phone-button. Says ‘unable to answer call’. 13. WiFi GUI is the worst I’ve ever seen. 14. I’ve never been able to get it see my GPS bluetooth device (and God knows I’ve tried). My 4 year old Ipaq sees it instantly. 15. I’ve had to reinstall ActiveSync, twice since I got the M2000. 16. It is SLOW! There are many, many problems, just read all the posts on this forum. I had a Treo 600, apart from the buzz when the battery dropped below 30%, I now realise that it is a great piece of kit. xxxxxx Stop whinging and get it replaced. Each and every one of those issues can be addressed either by replaceing the phone (in the case of the hard-reset isues) or by appying the right piece of software. My phone has NEVER turned off!! (well -except when I've removed the battery), and certainly never soft-reset itself. for the "calling New York" issues - try DeltaLock 0.03. |

QUOTE(RiceBurner @ Apr 20 2005, 13:57) I'd be interested in this - DeltaLock (screenlocking) and ButtonLock (just button locks) are all very well, but I agree a PROPER "InterfaceLock" would be far more useful. As long as you can set it up so that it'll still answer calls at the touch of a Bluetooth headset button.... Update - just downloaded DeltaLock V3 (0.03 actually) and it appears to be a complete "lock-out" program. Even locks out the buttons, apart from the 2 used to reactivate the phone, which you can alter. http://www.deltadevelopment.de/users/chris...Lock/index.html |

QUOTE(KenM @ Apr 22 2005, 10:33) Well, kind of. I had to get a replacement phone because my hands-free was broken. I backed up everything onto a storage card - much better performance this time it only took about ten minutes. I put the card in the new phone and started a restore. Got to 33 percent, phone rang. I made the mistake of answering it. The call was fine but xbackup stalled at 33 percent. And when I cancelled the backup the phone was so f$%%&^%ed I had to do a hard reset. Here goes with restore attempt number 2... yeah - if ANY program is running then Xbackup will crap out - including ActiveSynch. you do need to isolate the phone while it's running. |

QUOTE(RiceBurner @ Apr 21 2005, 17:15) ok - I've got an I-tech Clip, and a Jabra BT800 headsets. I've got an SPV M2000 with the latest (Build 3500 from Broadcom) Bluetooth software on it. if I make a call with the phone less than 3 feet from the headset (either of them) ANYTHING that comes through the headset is totally unintelligible. :x :x :x :x :x :x I can't have a sensible conversation at all because I'm always having to ask people to repeat themselves. Is ALL bluetooth communication blighted by cross-talk or interference or simply crap reception to the headset???? Am I expecting too much?? Obviously I"m not expecting face to face clarity - but I would at LEAST like to have the same sounds coming through as I get from the speaker on the phone!!! I would like to be able to have a conversation with someone on the phone and at the same time use the phone as a PDA. I "can" do this with the wired headset - but the cables are bloody annoying and always getting tangled up (especially because I like to take them off and put them in a pocket when not actually on a call) Can anyone PLEASE help me before I throw the sodding things through the window??? EDIT : no swearing please, yo mama might be reading sorry about the swearing. |
