Hi all, Thisisnt a response per sa, its just for ppl in the future who are lucky enoough to find this thread, google sure dosnt find it, but here are some keywords I tried when having this exact same problem, read on for the fix!! Windows mobile smartphone hardware install problem The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name hardware network problem - stupid windows xp sp2 broke my ruddy phone and now I'm wasting hours trying to fix the blasted thing OK, go here and read this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823771/en-us no, its not nice, but it only take about 30 mins in all, and it will work, so what can i say, BUT There are TWO 'folders' of registry keys to delete, I'm really sorry, but I cant remember the exact names, but this should help. Folder one-. Begins with an R or a U something like Rndis, or USBRndis if you look at the keys and values (items on the right hand side of regedit) you will see are reference to a file called usb8023Y.sys (that is exact, you could serach for it if you like). (If you were to have looked at the DRIVERs folder that comes with Activsync 4.1, that is one of the files, so I deleted that whol folder of values) Folder two, (was below folder one when sorted by name!!) Cant remember much about this, but in the little 'description' value you seem to get for each of the services, it said something like Win CE 5 link up and make the world right, well no it didnt, but it sure did say WinCE or Win CE (with a space), so delete that too. Well I hope that helps sobody, its jsut taken me 2 hours to sort this mess out. Adam Just realised putting a web link in is bad for archiving, so this is the instructions that are in the web page: 1.Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.2.Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.3.In Device Manager, expand Network adapters, right-click Network_Adapter_Name, and then click Uninstall. 4.In the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK.5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each network adapter that is listed in Device Manager.6.Close Device Manager.7.Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.8.On the General tab, click Diagnostic Startup - load basic devices and services only.9.Click the Services tab, and then click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.10.In the Services list, click to clear each of the services check boxes, and then click OK.11.Restart your computer.12.Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK. 13.In Registry Editor, click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, click File, and then click Export.14.In the Save In list, click Desktop, in the Name box type HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, click Save, and then close the Export Registry File dialog box.15.Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services, and then look for registry entries specific to your network adapter. For example, if you have a Linksys network adapter, look for entries named Linksys. When you find an entry, right-click the name and then click Delete.16.Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.17.On the General tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services.18.Click the Services tab, and then click to select each service check box.19.Restart your computer.20.Windows XP will detect your network adapter and install the correct driver files.21.Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK. 22.On the General tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services.23.Click the Services tab, and then click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box. 24.In the Services list, click to select each of the services check boxes, and then click OK. 25.Restart your computer several times to make sure that all devices and services are loading correctly.26.When you are sure that all devices are working correctly, right-click the following registry entry on your desktop, click Delete, and then click Yes to confirm: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, sorry its not formated. adam |

QUOTE(Fleabag @ Mar 31 2006, 23:20) kam: I guess you are right, but what I meant was at least, theinformation is free to you if you ask. It may not be printed directly on the advertisment but it is there! Syphon: If you get the plans with the bundle integrated you get the discount, but you would not be able to remove the bundle from the plan for 6 months, due to no downward price plan migration policy. If you take the plan without WNW, and add the bundle, you can remove it at any time. Spoke to the handset manager today and was told he had not received any communication with regard to the Vario II's as of yet. He said he would ask some questions though! Found out the P990 is due Q3 also, if that is of interest to anyone. toon9: They don't disappear automatically, that's why some people get emails advising of stock shortages. Handset deliveries come in all the time, and upgrades get priority - that's why you won't see them showing up on the website when they do arrive unless there are loads of them. Page: I see the salesperson managed to convice you again! quartershade & adudley: You can both convert to unlimited for £7.50 a month. What a fantastic and concise reply, Thankyou very much... not a free beer, but some gratitude going your way! Thanks for that |

QUOTE(Confucious @ Mar 26 2006, 00:30) The only thing that's stopped me doing this allready is the fact that T-Mob refused me credit. I pannicked and checked my credit rating at checkmyfile.com only to find the credit agencies didn't recognise me at my new address - this could have something to do with the fact that I hadn't actually got round to telling my banks, credit cards etc - D'Oh! As soon as I get this sorted (checkmyfile are very helpful - well worth the money BTW) I will sign up with T-Mob. It seems just what I'm after. Thanks for the info fleabag - assuming what you say to be true, you've made me a happy man just register to vote and that will fix credit ratings |

I've got a tmobile vario, a friend has the 02 mini s.... and yes, im glad i got the vario! 02 seem to load all sorts of crap on it. after a hard reset, the 02 phone is STILL slower than my vario, after running for days with a 1GB sd - neither of us have changed our extended roms etc. so, from what i've ready, 02 piles crap on, tmobile dont.... get a tmobile one or go rom editing.... or, this is cool get the tmobile rom on your 02 phone! download the software, called lokiewiz or from ebay look for 'best unlock mda vario' then install whatever rom you like... be warned though, i installed club imates rom, its pants compared to tmobile, it needed soft reseting each day... not something im used to with tmobile, so back i went to trusty tmobile rom |

QUOTE(CupidStunt @ Mar 10 2006, 02:38) You can also get a 'wind' sim from italy that (unbelievably) chares 20 euro for a gig access in italy - but more importantly 200 meg access while roaming (including 3G) - so once I manage to have one delivered i will post more. yes you MUST keep us updated on that one, that sounds amazing |

QUOTE(Swampie @ Mar 7 2006, 21:27) However - you've got to realise that the 25% off for life is for life. The previous 50% for 12 months then 50% for life was UNTIL you upgrade. Once you upgrade you lost your discount. You now get 25% off AND can upgrade after 18 months as normal and not lose your discount. D And the chances of staying on the same contract with the same company??? next to nill for me, after switching from orange, I started to wonder why i didnt switch sooner... so I'll be looking around after my 18 months anyway! |

I don't think we will c our march update though. since at the tim of looking. the mda pro was expecting an update in january. yet the only available rom is dated september 05. I made this a new thread coz the old one is now very confusing and long.. six pages to try and find one working link! (typed on my vario. in ikea. warrington) |

I bought a 1GB mobymemory miniSD back when mobimemory were the ONLY uk ppl selling them, it was over £100. Its been going for over a year now, and its fantastic, NEVER had a problem. They have a 5 year warrnty on their own stuff, you cant complain about that. I will buy a mobymemory card again, even if its an extra £10, I like life to be as trouble free as possible! |

wait, just wai, I've got a vario, but i know what you mean, not exactly the right image when ur on the pull, so the ideal solution would be another smartphone, coz since activesynce 4.1, it can handle multiple devices, so take a look at the FLIP smartphone here |

The camera is pants, a cheap samasung e330 is better, HTC are bringing out a phone with a 'strobing flash' soon, so from then on, maybe that will be the end of our lighting woes. (hmm, Im on an 18month contract, was that such a good idea?) |

just for your infomation, about usage, my vario says its downloading aroung 500k for just the My Ebay page, thats half a MB. Also, I'm on the self service, then just call the INTERNATIONAL number from your phone, bypases the extra cost perfect, I've called a couple of times, just to chnage my number and add a bundle (the website was down) but after that, u dont need to call them, how good is tmobile's website compared to orange hey? its amazing, you can see your recent calls and everything, its gr8 |

I use it (MSVC) mainly to play music, while it just sits under my car stero, about 20inches away, it picks up about 80% of my commands when doing 70mpg down the motorway, so it must be your headset. leave yourself a voice message or something to see what the device is actually hearing from you, test the quality out. |
