I have discovered that after I secure the headset in the ear if I pull it out just a tad it no longer causes my ear to hurt but still remains secure in my ear. I have used the headset several times since my last post and I have had no problems with it. Sound quality is good. The people I was talking to said they could hear me clearly. Looks like it's a winner. |

Well, I guess nobody know... So I went to Radioshack to buy one of the Motorola headsets they have on sale for $40.00. I saw the Bluespoon AX2. This thing is so damn small. It fits in the ear and has a small rubber piece that you flex around into the inner part of your ear that keeps the headset from falling off. You have to see it to understand what I'm talking about. This thing is so light. Below is a link to a review of the item. And it was reviewed with the SMT5600 so I knew it would work for me. Even tho it is so light it still hurts my ear a little. But it only hurts when I touch the headset. I have very sensitive ears tho so most people won't have this problem. There are some headphones/headsets I cannot use cuz of my ears being so sensitive. The sound is also not as good as my Bluetrk G2 but its not bad. And the volume should be able to go up a little bit more than it does. A couple minor quirks but so far so good. I'm gonna try it for a while and give it a real work out in the mean time. |

I have owned my audiovox 5600 for some time now. I used to own a SE T637. I paired a Bluetrek G2 with it. When I switched to the Audiovox I had problems with my G2 headset. Specifically, outgoing sound would mute. I thought it was the G2 but now I think it is a compatability issue between the G2 and the 5600. Anyone know where I can get a find a list of BT headsets that are compatable with the 5600? I really miss using my G2. I have been able to check some compatable headsets online and looks like the Bluetrek and Plantronics BT headsets are not comptable with the 5600. Jabra's compatability search engine doesnt work right now. Please some help would be great! |

Start > Settings > Profiles > Highlight the Profile in question > Hit Menu key. Hit Edit. When you edit the profi8le you can edit many different things. QUOTE(Donny Bahama @ Dec 20 2005, 11:07) I don't know about those of you with other phones, but on the Audiovox SMT5600, I've found that the (earpiece) volume is inadequate for me unless I have it set to "Outdoor". (In the registry, it's in HKCU\Control Panel\Profiles\Loud) Problem is, with it set to "Outdoor", the key press tones are way too loud. I'd really like to be able to edit those darn profiles! Anyone know a way? |

QUOTE(jimmel @ Jun 22 2005, 04:06) Thanks..I'll try different formats of WAV today. I've already tried PCM, 16 bit in that folder and it didn't work, so I'm hoping it's one of the other types. If you find out what you used, please post back. I checked and they were all PCM with various Sample Rates (khertz) and Sample (bits) Sizes, and all were mono. I downloaded all my alert sounds from this link.. http://www.modaco.com/best_text_message_tones-t204490.html Theres some good sounds here. |

QUOTE(sprocket87 @ Jun 21 2005, 07:46) Maybe you can't use audio files for VM alerts, dunno. If putting it in the \windows folder doesn't work, then I don't know... mp3 and wma dont work for the alerts. Wav's do tho. Put the wav in Storage\Application Data\Sound. Works for me. Oh, and they have to be a specific type of WAV. I think it was PCM. I use Goldwave to edit WAV's so I can save WAV's in many different file types, kbps, etc... I'm on another computer atm so i cant check but I will try and check tomorrow. |

QUOTE(Rex Orbis2 @ Jun 19 2005, 20:13) I'm currently getting ready to switch providers from a regional one to Cingular, and I was looking to buy the SMT5600 sing the Mpx220 doesn't seem to be available any more and as a whole seems to have better reviews. I have read, though, that it doesn't support mpg movies, and if that's the case what format works? Is there a program that easily lets me convert DVDs or other movie files to a lower resolution and smaller file size? Does missing the 900mhz band hurt reception? I only plan on using this phone in the US, if that matters. Also, is there a site that lists phone-friendly websites? I know it comes with pocket IE and can display most pages, but I was looking more for sites designed for easy viewing on cell phones. Thank you ahead of time for any help. I've had a cell phone, and before that a car phone, for almost 10 years but I've never been able to afford a decent phone until now. Its all very confusing to me. 1. You can download Betaplayer. it's free and can play files that WMP10 cannot. 2. yes but I do not know for sure. here is a link for a guide. http://www.modaco.com/Media_Encoding_UPDATED-t95746.html 3. The 900 band is for Europe. The SMT5600 is a Triband phone which means you can use it in a lot of places around the world. If it had 900 as well then it would be considered a world phone. 4. Do a search for WAP or WAP alternitive sites, but the content is limited for WAP sites. BTW, I have had this phone for a few weeks and it ROCKS! |

Strange, but your theme totally fubared my phone. When changing theme one of your screens would not change. No matter what I did, I could not get rid of that one screen. It was the contact screen when making phone calls. So I uninstalled the theme from remove apps in settings. After this I could no longer take or make calls and the right soft key would not work either. I tried rebooting the phone but this didn't work. I decided to do a hard reset but could not get into the reset screen. Soooo....I reinstalled your theme and removed it again from the remove app menu and now my phonbe works fine again. Weird I know but scarry!!! |

I have the Dell Axim X5 and a new Audiovox SMT5600 (about 2 weeks now.) I've had the X5 since it came out, I think in 2001. It's been great and I use it alot to look at info, listen to music, and get numbers that I didn't have in my cell phone. I did not put all my numbers into my phone since it had no filter function. I wanted to by a new Dell X50v. I also wanted to buy the SE S710a. This phone looks wicked and has a lot of functionality. But I bought a smartphone intead and I don't regret it at all. I do more with this phone than I did with my X5 and SE T637 combined. Now with my new 5600 I don't carry my X5 around at all. But I still take it to work tho, just don't have it on my belt. My phone totally replaced my X5 except when I need to do some serious Word processing when at work. I love the small size and the fuctionality. To make next gen Smartphone better I think the Nokia 7710 design may be a step in the right direction. Just imagine the SMT5600 with just a couple keys on the outside and a screeen taking up most of the space. I think that would be really cool, especially with a pop up/out/slide/whatever keypad or qwerty keyboard and with a touchscreen. Can't wait for my 2 year contract is up to get my next smartphone, |
