Yes I had my phone replaced. At first I thought it was probably the phone but I am starting the think it is the memory card. I have had it in the memory card reader of my PC and had files being corrupt with weird filenames (could still be the phone corrupting them). I have switched to a 1gb micro SD card now but I havent had much time to test it (have had a lot to do) but I will give it a good test in the next couple of days.

QUOTE(jayz1220 @ Jun 10 2007, 13:56) *
Hello,

I have had a quick search and couldn't find anything relating to my issue on the forum.

I have a SPV M3100 with a 2gb Sandisk MicroSD card. It has been working well until about 4 weeks ago when I recognised that my emails did not contain any contents only a header. I have setup the device to store all messages (MAPI folders, using the registry tweak) on the memory card.

Further investigation revealed that when I browsed the contents of the card with File Explorer the folders would be listed for the storage card, but no contents were available. Seemed like the directory structure was held in memory, but the access to the memory card had gone.

Upon restarting I would find that I regained access to the contents of the memory card, but of course the messages which arrived while the memory card was inaccessible did not contain a message body, only the header (which i assume is held in phone memory). It seems like the memory card becomes inaccessible after about 20-30 minutes after the restart.

My question is:

1) Has anyone experienced this before?
2) Is it the memory card or the reader component on the phone causing it?

BTW: I unfortunately don't have a spare MicroSD to check with.

Any ideas would be appreciated, otherwise I'll just order a new MicroSD (probably an Ultra II this time). Does anyone know if the phone realises a performance increase using a high speed memory card? ie when launching an application from storage card.

Regards
Jay

I have this problem too after I replaced my first one. No problems for 4 months, got it replaced and had problems after just a week. Does your serial number start with HT640 as well?

I have a spare 1gb micro SD card I will try with tomorrow!

It doesn't work without battery. I tried charger and USB, but no difference. Sorry for bad news..
However the battery isn't that expensive. You can get it at expansys or some at ebay. I got one for about 25Euro

Thank you very much! I will order a battery tonight then!

I decided to play with my STRTRK again today but found some problems, it wont start.

Last time I used it was christmas. I forgot the charger when I went to relatives for Christmas. So I drained the battery, let it rest, started it again to check for text messages etc. I forgot it at my relatives so I didnt get it back until last week. I tried it today but it wont start or charge (no lights nothing).

Could someone try to remove their battery and plug the charger in with the backcover on. Does the charge light go on? Can you start the phone without a battery, just running it from the charger?

This will help me figure out if I should order a new charger or phone.

Thx

Sorry missed the word lacks... I was getting really excited reading about gps, 3g and wm6 tongue.gif

As to the iphone comment I was refearing to the second interface picture. The black one with shiny metal colored icons just made the iphone come into mind first.

Conflicting information there... WM5 or WM6? The source website seems to say WM5. Where did you get WM6 from? Looks sexy eitherway though. A bit disappointing to se someone like samsung do a iphone copy though :/

Could you post the error code activesync/phone gives you? Should say attention required, and if you press it it should give you the error message with an error code at the end.

tboy2000 no that is not what their problem is. The problem they are talking about that I also suffer from is activesync crashing the library. I get this problem when I try to sync music from the different PCs, abort a music sync or when I manually copy files to the music folder on the memory card without going via the sync in activesync. I havent found a solution for it, took me ages to figure out it was the MSMETADATA folder. I deleted on thing at a time on the memory card when I was on an two hours train ride.

quick note to the above steps... After that you need to go inte schedule for activesync and set peak time to "When it arrives" same thing for off peak (6pm-8am) if you want it.

No I will not buy it... Never understood why people would pay so much for software! Its a robbery really. If it was $4.99 and it supported the ATI chipset then I could consider it, but for $25 hell would have to freeze before I bought it... Ashame to se such a great team of developers sell out... Its like MARKUKCOUK said, they will crash to the bottom in a couple of months when a better free application comes along.

I wonder how our phones can vary so much. I cant think of anything else I can do it wear it down more. The only marks I have are at the top corners when it is closed and at the bottom where the phone has worn due to having it in my pocket all the time.

My phone still looks brand new after 3 months of use. Not a singel mark, and I carry it in my pocket 24/7 without any case or screen protectors. The only thing I get is the marks on the screen from the keypad, but a quick wipe with some saliva and the arm of my sweeter and it is gone. I dont know how you manage to wear it so much...

There are two suppliers of the qtek 8500, one of them is brightpoint the other is danguard. You cant register none brightpoint sold devices on brightpoints site (myqtek.com). You have to find danguards site (I dont know the address, sorry).
