Im on the O2 Online 200 tariff and I pay £30 a month for 200 anytime/any network minutes and 500 free texts and I also get what seems to be unlimited GPRS. If its not unlimited, its definately more than I can use each month. You also get a Nokia phone so you dont have to spend months looking for the software to make your phone functional.

and you really shouldn't use words like "raped" in this context.

The word "raped" doesn't necessarily mean in a sexual way and can be used in many contexts.
eg. the rape of a beautiful stretch of countryside.

Yeah, and a spreadsheet for the Nokia 6600 will probably be written in JAVA which the new smartphones (C500/MPX220) will support

So I'd have to run an emulator in order to run it? These phones have enough trouble as it is. Why dont I just get the phone that the software was designed for in the first place. After all, it looks better, runs faster and generally does what it says it can do. Unlike any smartphone I've ever used.

I simply can't see spreadsheets being a workable proposition on Smartphones, and anyways, it's surely down to MS themselves to port Excel for the platform.

Word, Excel and Powerpoint are available on any other handset. Do a search on Handango. The screen of the p800/p900 may be a bit bigger than the SPV, but the new Nokias aren't. If it can happen on a 6600, it can happen on an SPV. No problem at all. I've seen the demo version of QuickOffice premier on my mates 6600 and it works absolutely fine.

Also, none of the available MS Office editors on the Symbiam platform are made by Microsoft, so why would it be down to Microsoft to create a version for the smartphone? Surely anyone could make one?

Well there we go. The SPV has been out for two years and all you software designers seem adamant that you simply dont care about what people want to see on their smartphones. Therefore I'm going back to good old Nokia with their fast, reliable handsets and useful software thats available for them. I can hapily say that I am NEVER going to buy a Windows Powered Smartphone ever again. They are slow, poorly designed and there are absolutely no good programs available for them. The only good programs available for this phone are programs which really should have been included in the phone in the first place. These programs are only good because you have to buy them in order to make your phone function like any other modern phone. I cant wait to get my 6600. I feel stupid and raped for holding onto this phone for so long, foolishly thinking that eventually, programs will come out that make this phone worth having. I've never been so wrong.

Does anyone know when the O2 XPhone is going to be released in the UK? Also, does anyone know of any plans to bring out a 3G videophone with the Microsoft Smartphone operating system?

Hi everyone. Does anyone know where files are temporarily stored on the phone whilst installing programs? The bit just before the phone asks whether you want to install to phone or storage card? Because half way through copying a program to my phone, it ran out of space and didn't delete the half copied file and now I have absolutely no space.

Interesting,

I have both e200 and xphone, I have different problems with each one in regards to speed.

Is there much difference between the E200 and the O2 Xphone when it comes to video playback and recording? And with speed in general? Does anyone know if there is any difference in the hardware? Whats the CPU speed and amount of RAM for each handset? Or are they both just different names for the same handset? Does anyone know if MSN Messenger works properly on the Xphone on the O2 network?

If anyone can think of a good reason not to make a program like this I'd love to hear it. Otherwise, lets make it happen people!

Its a fully working chess game with no restrictions on how long you can play it for. Its pretty good. If you like it you can pay to register and get a few more functions like game anaylsis. Try it out.

The SPV has been out for a very long time and there are still no spreadsheet editing program available. I'm hoping someone will make one if we show enough interest.

I was trying to write a post from my SPV for the first time today and I noticed that if I tick the "remember password" tick box, Modaco tells me that I have entered an incorrect password. Also, once I'd finally signed on, I went to do a "quick reply" and when I submitted it, I was taken back to the enter password screen and forced to log in again and consequently had to retype my post all over again (this happened twice). Pretty annoying.

This is the program you are all wishing for:
Autopilot - Handango

Imagine how good it would be if someone made a version of this for the smartphone platform. I would pay good money. Would anyone else be interested?

I'll look forward to that then. I'm using an original SPV with ROM 1.6.1.10 on O2 with the 300 texts and 300 GPRS minutes internet tariff.
