Why are you using Nokia Intellisync with a HTC device? The proper tools to use are either Microsoft IntelliSync (Windows XP) www.microsoft.com/mobile The Missing Sync (Mac) www.markspace.com On Linux there are a bunch of tools, if you use Linux I trust you can find one For Windows Vista there is a "Mobile Device Center" (IIRC the name) that ships with Vista |

Hi =) As many of you probably have seen there are a lot of videos of "hacked" S730's with their built-in GPSes in use arround (for instance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTHO86--VHM ) Strictly legally, modding your phone to use the GPS isnt illegal so I hope this post won't be deleted, though it might void the warranty... I was just wondering if anyone has tried this? And if so is the GPS worth trying? |

I have no experience with the Wings, but can you not put the MP3s in \Application Data \Sounds or even \Storage Card \My Documents and have them show up as available in the ringtones list ? I don't know much about media coding either but surely any format file might blow the speaker if it was loud enough ? Then again, I've never heard of that happening anyway I couldnt get the Wings to recognize any file format until I A) Put the file in My Documents C) Opened the file in the Sound Manager D) Took Menu -> "Set as ringtune" |

Hello =) I guess you've all noticed that when you press the green phone button after having dialed a number, the phone makes a loud "BEEP" before connecting the call. I find this beep extraordinary irritating. And there doesn't seem to be any setting related to it in the "sound" part of the settings panel... Has anyone managed to get rid of this horrible noise? |

Have you tried setting the phone profile to "Automatic" (press the off button and choose from the menu)? |

Hehe, yeah I know the manual says it's OK. That's why I thought it was weird that HTC doesn't recommend it. I mean they can hardly say it's your fault if you claim a warranty replacement if MP3 ringtones are described in the manual! Or perhaps that's why they discourage it =P Less replacements for them to make lol. |

Hi! I recently contacted HTC regarding the (IMO rather bad) MP3 ringtone options. I just wanted to tell them its stupid that you cant cut an MP3 file and put it in "My Ringtones" yourself instead of going through the audio manager. To my big surprise HTC support says I shouldnt use MP3 ringtones at all, if I do it's "on my own risk" if the speaker breaks due to high sound levels from the MP3 file. The support guy also added he wouldnt not use MP3 ringtones on his phone at all. Is this true, is the phone speakers so "crappy" they'll break with MP3 ringtones? And why does HTC provide support for something they don't recommend?! Is anyone here using MP3 ringtones? If so; how is it working? |

ok, nvm I got it =D You have to do it for each profile in the profile manager instead of in the Windows settings. |

hi! I have a HTC Wings Smartphone with Windows Mobile 6. I think this is a "general Windows Mobile"-question so Ill ask it here. Is it possible to have the phone both ring and vibrate? The ring tone settings only allows for one ringtone-or-vibrate to be chosen from the list, I'd like both but I can't figure out how to fix it... Thankful for any ideas or solutions! |

QUOTE We are aware that this may be a problem for some customers and are currently investigating into what causes this. As it stands, we do not have a fix as yet, but can recommend that you hard reset your device, as this can rectify the situation for the time being. Got that in my mailbox today. At least it seems they dont think it will be fixed by a reset, just that it might help "for the time being". I expect they mean that this will remove apps I dont need and thus clear up memory. But I do believe they have understood that there's an issue here. |

Hi =) I've noticed something rather annoying... It seems to be impossible to make the phone both play a tune and vinrate when someone calls. It works fine with just having one of them but I'd like both. Like when you're on the subway and theres too much noise to hear the phone - or when youre home and you have the phone in another room so you cant feel it vibrating. Sure, I could change profiles everytime I walk on the bus and when I get indoors - but all(/most?) other phones manage to both vibrate and play a tune so why should it be different with the s730? Is there a hidden switch somewhere that can fix it? =) Thanks |

Hey everyone! After 2 days of trying to connect my phone over WiFi I finally found that the error was on the router's side <curse>, however now it's working fine but there's one thing I can't figure out: How do I know if it's using WLAN or 3G? I mean even if I have 1GB free 3G transfer from my operator I'd rather save them when I'm home or at the university hooked up to a WiFi-network. When I connect the phone just shows the WLAN icon next to the battery meter and that's it. Does it route all connections over WLAN when it can, or must I make some kind of setting? I mean IE and Messenger works over both, so they could be using either without me knowing. Thanks |

I haven't found it; but theres supposed to be one included... I think... There's a warning in the manual about that you shouldnt use the recording feature without telling the person youre talking to. Thus, there should be one included I think. |

It is possible, I read about it in some magazine. And here's a youtube video of some guy using TomTom with the internal GPS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTHO86--VHM |

have you modded your S730 phones or does GPS work if you just install TomTom? And btw, does the phone get hot or so when using the GPS? |

Hello everyone! I just posted a memory leak problem too. I haven't suffered from it yet as my phone is only 24h old and I havent got my memory card yet. However I have noticed memory vanishing, so I made a support request over mail. So that HTC will see theres a wide-spread error. I mean, only a true idiot would tell someone that has a brand-new phone, without a memory card or installed programs to do a reinstall! |
