The same way as Mandt suggested before - go to Windows > Start Menu, and cut the ones you don't want on the start menu and paste them into the Programs folder. Then you can check the ones you want from Settings > Personal > Menus. |

i noticed the other day that all my calendar entries after march 31st are 1 hour ahead of the actual time. i set up my work shifts for the rest of the year using outlook 2007 on my pc then sync-ed with my device. my pc has the correct times but my device is 1hr fast during bst!! That happened to my appointments, and it was a result of Daylight Savings Time screwing things up, but it waas directly caused by having the "Automatic Time Zones" checkbox turned on on the phone. If you're lucky, you should be able to uncheck that box, verify that your time zone etc. is correct on the phone, and resync. I, however, had to make a backup of my phone using Sprite backup, then I hard-reset, restored the backup, but left out "Personal databases" from the restoration. I then made sure the Auto Time Zones box was unchecked, and synced with my computer. It was a pain, but it fixed the problem right up. |

Need the same for appointments too. Flashed to the latest ROM and backed up with PIM, but then when I synced with my laptop, it now has double contacts and appointments Yeah, that's a pain in the ass, mine did that too. Here's what I did: hard reset, then restore everythign from Sprite backup except the personal databases. Meanwhile, get an app for Outlook to delete duplicate entries (google for it; I used one called Mapi Lab Duplicates remover for Outlook or something like that) and get rid of them on that end. Then, resync your phone with the laptop and it should go back to normal. |

Anyone... Bueller? I upgraded mine, and TBH it wasn't really worth it. I was under the impression (based on the instructions on the HTC America site) that I could do the ROM upgrade and restore a Sprite backup and all would be well. As it turned out, it didn't work as well as anticipated and I had to go thru hours of reinstalling etc. And when it was all said and done, I haven't noticed any difference whatsoever. perhaps the radio is better or somehting, but I didn't have a problem to begin with so I can't confirm that. After my ordeal, my brother did not upgrade his ROM and is prefectly happy with his, for what it's worth. As far as the bloatware etc., the quick soft-reset before customizations still works just as with the factory ROM. |

I'm not sure how to avoid "messing it up" but cleaning the notification queue didn't fix the problem, at least not for me. I still get some (not all) reminders an hour early. This is very weird. Not sure if it's of any use, as I have a Tilt that was doing the same thing, and it had to do with the automatic time zone check box being checked. For whatever reason, my Tilt got on a different time zone setting than my PC, and it changed all of the appointments on the phone to be an hour behind, even though they were right on the PC, and the time on both was the same. I had to do a hard reset, then did a sprite backup restore of everything but my personal databases, unchecked the automatic time zones checkbox, and synced with the computer. Then all my appointments etc. came on at the correct time. |

Yeah, the same thing happened to me when i first got the phone. It was a new SIM card too, and for some reason there was oxidation or something on the SIM card that was not allowing it to make good contact with the terminals in the phone. Try pulling the sim card out, and rub the gold side on your jeans a little bit, then put it back in. Someone on a similar thread suggested a pencil eraser, but anything to polish up the contact side of the SIM card. If that doesn't work, you might see about swapping the SIM for a different one, or perhaps a hardware issue if all else fails. |

I am interested as well. I am able to copy the picture files and get those to work for the lessons and have the Exam portion work too. Only thing is no audio which kind of defeats the whole purpose of using the program. Did someone get audio to work and if so how? Yeah, it's a bummer this never went anywhere. However, if you own a PSP, there's a guy working on something called Rosetta Shard which is moderately useful. I tried it, the demo set worked fine, but my Russian disk never did work right...anyway, he's still working on it so do a google search for Rosetta Shard PSP and you should find it. |

Thought I'd experiment with this and got a result today. Here's how to do it. Torrentflux or other media orientated web interfaces allow for files to be streamed using VLC. Log on to your media server using your favourite browser(opera mini for me) and select the file to stream... I selected the following output options : Video DIV4 - 384kbps Audio - mpga - 64kbps Launch TCPMP and point it to your home IP .... mms://home-ip:port/ Sit back and enjoy your movie. I'm in the process of tuning TCPMP for network playback as it does stutter a bit. Any help fine tuning would be great here. I've found that it's definately TCPMP that needs tuning as streaming over wifi is perfect. That sounds cool, but it seems a bit more complicated than, say, Orb or something similar. What's the advantage here? |

I love my kiaser but it starting to piss me off. firstly, (although i think this is T-mobile fault, for the fisrt time is saw the HSDPA logo in the corner of the screen, then it was gone before i could use it, then it was bac, and on off, on off ect my real problem, is that the clock on my kaiser doesnt update itself until it brought out of standby, if i turn it on i quickly see the clock update. this would be a problem, except the alarm no longer goes off, i must wake before it, not good. same apleis to the email which should check itsself every 5mins or so, bt instead, it just checks when i wake it up. Do you think this has happened bcause i installed the CUBE which is constantly runnign? should i hard reset it? if i should how do i do it, i never did it before, and i dont want to jack a pin into a mic or anything a bit of help please thanks Take a look at this thread, as this has been an issue for a lot of people. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332362 It may be a problem with the cube, I don't know about that. What solved it for me was disabling the task manager from the top-right corner of the screen, as well as turning off the HTC Home screen. Once I did that, the time and email worked fine. There are also some settings in the registry you can change either with a registry editor or with Kaisertweak that may help fix it, they're mentioned in that thread. |

Well mine worked perfectly until I changed the setting in kaiserTweak, and the perfectly again once I changed it back But maybe KaiserTweak and Batti just don't like each other Could be, but give it a few days. Batti was sporadic with mine, would work fine for a while and then would go crazy and I'd have to soft reset. |

Some people have reported screen corruption issues with Batti installed (me included). You may be in the realms of having to do a hard reset or restore a previous backup... :-( I second this, Batti periodically screwed up my display exactly how the OP described. I doubt if Kaisertweak had anything to do with it. I uninstalled Batti, installed Vistahide Battery Gauge instead, and no more display problems. |

With all the tinkering I've been doing on my new Orange TyTNII I've forgotten where the control is for this feature. In fact it doesn't animate the windows as on a PC but just draws a couple of white frames which expand and disappear rather irritatingly. Can anyone help - I've been through evrything but must keep missing it. Might not be part of the standard thing as I have HTC Home Plugin as well as Touchflo Cube. Yeah, I don't know about the Touchflo Cube, but if you're running KaiserTweak you can turn off the animations in there (the setting is pretty self-explanatory). |

quick and simple.. No. the kaiser has not IR Well, it depends on what you're trying to control... it does work as a bluetooth remote for your PC. Try this if you want to give it a shot. http://www.jaylee.org/RemoteControl/ |

Actually I just noticed that the server application says; "Bluetooth not available". I have a Dell computer with a Widcomm inbuilt Bluetooth card. It should be supported. So what can I do to make the server app register my computer's Bluetooth? Hmmmm, I don't know, my desktop uses an external BT dongle, and the server app found it right away from what I can remember (I installed it a while ago). I'll check tonight and see if there was anything special I had to do to point it in the right direction. Here's an idea: uninstall the server app, and then make sure the BT chip is turned on when you reinstall it. Maybe it needs to be able to see the chip in order to work properly. |

I would like to use my TyTN II as a remote controle for my Win XP laptop over Bluetooth. I have tried installing Jaylee's bluetooth remote control, which is free and seem to have it all, but done installing, I can't get the server (PC) and device to connect to each other. The webside for this program is http://www.jaylee.org/RemoteControl/ So is there any other solution, or have anybody got experience with this program, please help this total newbie... THX Gregersdk Yeah, I use that Bluetooth remote you linked to, and it works fine for me. It does seem to be a little finicky at times, where it doesn't connect sometimes or can drop a connection, but for the most part it's decent (esp. for being free). Basically, you need to have the server app installed on your PC, and the controller app installed on your device. Then to use the remote function, you first have to activate the server program on the PC. If you don't do this, the phone will not see the PC as an available server and will not connect. Then, when you start the program on the phone, you'll have to point it to the computer to let it know to use that as the server, and it should connect. Also, once it makes a connection it remembers that connection, so as long as you've started the server app on the PC the phone will connect to it automatically on subsequent uses. Hope this helps, it's a little squirrely to get running at first, but it really does work well once you've got it. Holler back if you have questions or if I wasn't clear enough on something. |

Where did you get the AT&T Rom??? I would like to switch to the HTC Rom at least to see if I liked it but need to be able to go back to the AT&T Rom if there are any problems or need to exchange for warranty reasons. Over at xda-developers.com, they have both the HTC original ROM and the Tilt ROM, they're in one of the stickies there. |

Edit: Sorry, I found the uninstaller. I was just frustrated last night. Anybody gotten the Windws Live plugin working on the Kaiser? That would make me happy, but the cab I got from xda-dev installed but does not seem to launch? - Thanks I think the Windows Live app is pretty crappy, TBH. It does dumb things like make duplicates of your IM contacts, and is quite buggy. The push email also doesn't seem to work very well. I would recommend Palringo if you want a free IM app that works quite well (it still drops connection on occasion, but is pretty robust overall.) |

is the vanilla version the one where you install the tilt rom but stop it before it tries to install the additional att programs? Could you provide more details on comparing this vanilla version with the htc rom? Yeah, it's when you stop the "Installing Customizations" by a soft-reset. Hmmm, details...I only had the HTC ROM for a few days a couple months ago, I just remember when I changed back to the Vanilla Tilt ROM I was happier. I like the fact that it has the Sprite Backup built in (I'm too cheap to buy it), and it doesn't have things like the HTC Home screen built in, which, IMO, is more trouble than it's worth as it seems to be pretty buggy. Otherwise, the Tilt ROM doesn't already have the HSPDA connection option in Settings > Connections, which doesn't matter to me but some people want for battery reasons. The dialer screens are a little different, and I did like the HTC screen a bit more cause the buttons are a little bigger, but not a big deal. Otherwise, I don't really remember why else I decided to stick with the Tilt ROM, but I've been happy with it so far...I guess a good reason for a noob to stick with the vanilla ROM is that it doesn't require a HardSPL, which would make it easier to return the Tilt for warranty coverage (otherwise you have to reverse the HardSPL to revert it back to factory condition.) |

Hey, thanks for the reply. My only concern is I "flash" ( which I am not sure how I would do anyway. If you have a resource, i would love to read it.), the phone to a ROM that is not what i think it is (Think it is a final ROM, and it ends up being a BETA, or does horrible things to my handset). I would just like to have a safety net. - Kevin EDIT: Well my question seems to have been answered before my post appeared?? - Thanks! For what it's worth...I got the tilt, and immediately flashed the HTC ROM to it. I found that rom to be a bit buggy (first thing that sticks out in my mind was the HTC Home screen, didn't work as well as I would have liked) so I flashed back to the Tilt ROM, but set up the vanilla version (without bloatware) and have been using that ever since. It seems to run quite well without all the additional crap AT&T felt the need to put on it. I also liked the fact that the Tilt ROM has Sprite backup built in - that IMO is a much more useful program than the Mobile Card Reader built into the HTC ROM. So, that's my 2 cents. Oh, also, I think the AT&T ROM has a slightly newer radio driver version than the HTC, but I may be wrong (thought I read that somewhere). |

I new to this stuff. My Tilt is only 48 hours old. I keep trying to install Kaisertweak and get the message the file is corrupted. When I extract the zip file, I have an exe, not a cab and and xml. Where do I find the cab? Am I missing something. All of the other programs I've loaded - HTC Homepage, Googlemaps, etc. have worked wonderfully. I really want KT so I can keep the screen active. Just copy the kaisertweak folder to your phone (should have the .exe and an .xml file in it) and run the exe straight on the phone. It's not an extractor or installer from the desktop. |
