Click here for the answer.  I answered it in post #7.

Partitioning doesn't change anything. I tried it and the second 1 GB is still unusable through phone.

For the reformatting card, I tried HP format tool. It also brings the card to the original condition, even it was partitioned. But problem remains there.

And I tried several ROM versions with above suggestions.

Change the registry to 2,500,000 not 250,000.  250,000 is less than 256 mb, whereas the other is greater than 2gb.

btw I still don't know why the number has to be bigger, when it was 512,000 (default) it saw most of the 2gb card (75%), but at 2,048,000 it saw less of the 2gb card (50%).

If you delete the folders that can be marked as unseen, in the resource manager you will see the used amount remains the same. I mean, do not delete the folders on phone, use a card reader instead. Otherwise you will think you can use more than 1 GB, but it is not true. You will have still 1 GB usable data and some more that hidden by deleting operation.

If you perform a disk check, you will find some hidden folders, which are tried to be deleted by the phone's file explorer.

try:

use a tool to divide  2G mini card into tow partitions,
each partitions 1G  size

then the card can be used in mpx220
and all the files in the card can be access

Well, as stated in the earlier post.  2GB Adata will work, no matter what Motorola tells you.  BTW, I am using Asian Rom 3.46.

Well, i tried 3.46 and FAT, but no luck. May be because of Sandisk. But it is known as a good producer, interesting :|

hehe... generic 1.49 is the bugger fw which I have. Incorrect java support, Incorrect interpreter for commands (non working restart device), unstable with card more than 1gb...

Which ROM is stable with card more than 1 GB?

I tried Asian 3.51 and 3.53 and both of them failed to read more than 1 GB on my 2 GB Sandisk

I'd imagine that most of us are using the Asian GoTone ROM.

My (Asian GoTone) ROM is marked as follows:
Operator: 3.570.7002.0
Manufacturer: 3.510.0.0
Microsoft: 4.21.15102.0
Language: 3.510.18.0
File System: 4.21.15102.0

Can you use 2GB or not?

Yes, I am using XP Pro SP2 and formatted the card using the SD card reader.  If you need to format the card using the MPx220, SP Task Manager will do that for you.

I also tried to use 2 GB mini SD, but Sandisk. I format it in FAT but the result was the same, only 1 GB is accesable. My ROM version is 1.47. What is your ROM version?
