Now that i see that its also possible for WM5torage to export other things than the SD Memory card via USB cable i wonder if it is possible for ya to program something that allows us the export the "My Documents" in the internal memory of the phone. Now that would be damn cool if that would be possible. |

Was it the one via LNK? Code to open the date and time applet (where the alarm option is) via a shortcut. CODE 00#"\Windows\settings.exe" clock.cpl.xml Cool, I think thats it. :-))))) EDIT: Okay, I want to put the link into my Standard WM5 Homescreen so that the link works when I click on the carrier plugin. The problem is:I cant click the carrier plugin at the moment + how do i put the link in there so that it will work? |

renaming to change to english does not work on all my phones , all the settings on the phone are uk english , it must have something to do with the simcard as well as the modaco C600 is an english phone , oh well time to remove it You have to experiment a bit to get it work. I also had to do that on my german phone. |

I remember I saw somewhere a guide that told how its possible to make a shortcut to the alarm clock of Windows Mobile on the homescreen. Have used the search function, but it did not help. |

I'd be interested to see if the 577W Smarpthone version runs? It works very well on my SP5, but i found that the version for the DopodS300 (which has a newer build number and less bugs then the 577W version) also works perfect on the SP5. So I recommend all Tornado users (SP5, SP5m, C600, ...) to download the version for the DopodS300. |

Interesting idea - I like it I has happend!!! Finally I found a QR Code reading Software that will run on nearly all Smartphones and that is free as well. And yap, it uses that camera of the phone!!! Ya can be impressed now... Aditional info on this: There's a wikipedia entry on QR codes - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_Code - interesting reading. OT Discussion points: However, the crux problem is not neccessarily in ENcoding the QR code data - it's in getting hold of freeware to DEcode the data in the code squares! Now, if comeone can come up with a decoder for WM5 phones with cameras down to 1.3mpx, I'll be very impressed As to output/format, while there is an existing standard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_Code) for these, I would think that the standard Outlook addressbook entry format would be the best to standardize on for smartphone use - thoughts? You know how nearly everything in Japan is tagged with QR Codes these days? OK, so you probably don't, and chances are you know QR Codes as 2D barcodes (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_Code for more info). Now every Windows Mobile phone owner (not to mention Symbian, UIQ etc) can also read these codes with the free Quickmark QR Code Reader you can get available here! Downloads are in CAB format, but that's cool with CABviaActiveSync right? You can create your own QR Codes here. Paul (MVP): I've given it a go (see pic), and it works amazingly well... see pic below! Edit: If you find you have Chinese rather than English, track down the install directory and rename QuickMark.0409.dll to QuickMark.0809.dll (assuming you are using a UK English device - US English devices should be fine out of the box) ![]() |

What I would do is Google the error code and see what comes up on the newsgroups. Did it, and the funny thing is ... i found only ppl who had this error message on Windows XP. lol Seems to happen when some codec is missing. But how can my midi codec be missing? I havent deleted any file!!! |

Thats what HTC sent me today via mail ... "We are indeed aware of the issue, and it is mainly to do with compatibility with the 850/1900 MHz bands in North America, but you should not experience this issue anywhere else. There may be an update available at some point in the future which addresses this, but first will be a dedicated North American version of the 8500, which will solve the problem for our North American customers. Any update would take the form of a ROM update which would completely wipe the device." |

Just a guess but might this be related to this problem ? No, unfortunately I dont think so. It must be something more serious. When I try to play any midi file in Windows Media Player I always get "Warning. Unknown Error 0XC00D11D2" |

Today I was getting some phonecalls, and everything was fine (which means: my standard midi ringtone always played). But this afternoon it happened that my phone started ringing with the windows mobile standard ringtone without any reason. I thought like "wow, this is weird" and tried to set my midi ringtone again. but guess what! it is not possible anymore! even windows media player cant play any midis anymore (mp3 still works). i always get the error message (Player: \Application Data\Sounds\Nameofmymidi.mid Unknown file format!) when i try to play or open any midi file. Tried to restart the phone and put out the battery, but this did not help. Is this a know issue? is there a fix for it? maybe a cache overrun? are there any caches or logs i can clear? |

But keep in Mind that Sniper and moBlue will also cache the file in the main memory before it is moved to the Storage card. Meaning that if you have for expample only 1MB left in your internal memory, you still cant receive any files bigger than 1MB, even with Sniper or moBlue. |
