I found the OEM voice recognition software to be lacking on the MPx220. I had just installed MS Voice Commander on my father's Cingular 3125, so I though I would give it a try on my MPx220. AND IT WORKS!!!

First you have to find it on the net somewhere. You can search through Google for "VoiceCommand_SmartPhone_Setup" or if the link is still available, find it HERE

Then simply unzip the program and install it on the MPX220. I chose to install it to the phone rather than the SD card.

I then decided that I want the MS Voice Command to use the same button as the OEM speech Recognition software, specifically because I did not really need access to two different voice recognition software. So in Voice Command Setup I choose "None" for Voice Button and then I made the following registry changes.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\KeyBd]
"VSCommandLine" = "\Windows\VoiceSignalLauncher.exe"

Change to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\KeyBd]
"VSCommandLine" = "\Storage\Program Files\Voice Command\voicecmd.exe"

To stop the OEM VoiceSignal speech recognition program from starting when you power-up your phone, delete this file:
\Storage\windows\StartUp\VSTBootStart

This would be perfect for anyone who is using a non-US ROM and is tired of using a British accent to call any of his/her contacts. biggrin.gif I LOVE VOICE RECOGNITION NOW!!!

Unfortunately, I was unable to get Voice Recognition to work over BT.

i just got my 2gb mini-sd card, installed it without format and it works fine. shows up as 1899mb.

Yes... We already know that it will say there is 2gigs available. BUT until you actually can put 2gigs worth of info on the chip without any error messages, you are not any further along than the rest of us. So, see if you can and get back to us.

Did those of you with the 2GB change your registry settings?
Default is 512000. You need to change it to something like 2500000

It did not work in my case.

sad.gif Happy to soon!!!! sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif  My MPX 220 only sees the first 1Gb in the explorer. The rest is ignored. When I use the minisd in a pocketpc or cardreader it sees the full 2 Gb.

Resource manager shows 2 Gb however
*

ME TOOOOOOO......

The phone see the the full 2gig in Resource Manager, but only 1gig in Smart Explorer. When I get close to 1gig of storage used I get the following error when I try to copy any more files from my computer:

"The drive cannot find the sector requested"

I think it is time to return the 2gig card and get two 1gig cards!
Ron

PS: I have tried ATT1.43ROM, Asian3.53ROM and Asian3.51ROM. What ROM are you using?
PSS: I have also tried editing the registry value:
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell/Lowmem/Storagelimit
From: 512000 To: 2048000
But without any luck.

Has anyone tried one in the MPx220? I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work, but was curious if anyone actually tested or was using one...???

I have ordered a SanDisk 2gb MiniSD card for my MPx220. I will let you know how it works out. If it does not, I'll just use it in my camera with the adaptor.

I know the MPx220 has an internal GPS receiver. I have Microsoft Pocket Streets and am wondering how I can use the internal GPS reveiver. I would rather not buy a BT receiver and have to carry it around with me also.

I found the hack to setup the BT GPS receiver, but i cannot find the hack for activating the internal receiver.

Thanks
