Does anyone know of a dialpad i can use with my wizard to replace the standard windows one. I'm not thinking of the T9 phonepad but a nice big keyed dial pad that'll come up (quickly) when i hit the call hard button. Something along the lines of the iphone - big buttoned - job would do the trick nicely! PS.. i'm not looing to skin windows dial pad. |

I think there's another thread about this but I can't find it!! Removed skype last night - think it's been properly slowing down my 9100 - and now getting a 'cannot execute skype' error every time i bring it out of standby. I understand some other folk have been having this problem and am hoping it doesn't involve doing some reg edit which i've never done before and would rather avoid. Thanks. |

QUOTE(Laser_iCE @ Mar 29 2006, 13:01) Hi there. Once your phone goes into standby mode (the screen turning off), your clock speed will be reset to the default Hope this helps! It's pretty much started locking up. Sometimes pressing the power button to take it out of standby doesn't work anymore and i have to take out the battery. Also, takes a while to get going when i comes out of standby now. Pretty much think i'm going to ave to hard reset and reinstall the updated rom... arrrrgggggghhhhhhhh..... very tempted to bring my c500 out of retirement! |

Is there any way you can get the backlight to stay on a a couple of minutes when you receive a txt... or put something on the screen so that you know there's a txt there when you come back to the phone without turning it on every time... |

Put the Overclock exe on my 9100 in the hope of getting skype to work. It did get much better but it's running really slowly now. Do I clock the processor up a notch? If i delete the overclock exe will my device revert to original settings? Please tell me it's not a hard reset scenario! What should the clock be at? I know it's a 200mhz processor... help! :?: :?: |

folks, a week ago when I started this post I had serious rage. it's absolutely ridiculous that we've been dingyed by qtek in favour of some non specific service company. I was properly reluctant to put anything on my 9100 that wasn't official but I was wrong. i highly recommend anyone out there that doesn't have the new rom to get on it. google it. spend some time looking for the file mentioned above and put it on... there's one place you'll find it first! dingy offical release, dingy qtek... get on it... and the rage will pass! |

Forgive me, my knowledge on this is pathetic.. With push I want to - or thought i could - get my hotmail pushed to me. I have no inclination to get my work e-mails sent to my phone. No idea what an exchange server is or if i can even do what i want. I know i'm supposed to go to the active sync settings and add an exchange server - eh? Got the new ROM installed at last so now just looking to floss on the best feature. As step by step as anyone can if poss... many thanks... |

QUOTE(mrdo @ Mar 17 2006, 19:35) i hope so - i have it in my cradle all day at work. so far, it's sitting at 100% when i leave work and is still at 100% when i get into work the next day. :-) aside from the (handy) clock being replaced by the (useless) battery on the today screen, everything else seems great. QUOTE(Jimax @ Mar 17 2006, 19:46) Well, I am pleasantly surprised by my battery life so far today. I installed the ROM update yesterday. The phone came off the charger at 0800 this morning. I've made about an hour and ten minutes worth of phone calls, I've had GPS turned on all day, bluetooth paired to my BT headset, sent/received a number of SMS messages, and replied to a number of Outlook emails. The time now is 1445 and I still have 76% of my battery life remaining. On my old ROM, my battery would have been at least to 50% by now. This is a nice upgrade so far. Where are you guys getting your roms from? Are they official? If so where did you buy your phone - is it Brightpoint? So many questions.... |

QUOTE(dan.ardelean @ Mar 2 2006, 10:55) There is a new ROM available on clubimate ftp site. The new version is K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020710_ship.zip Uploaded on 02/03/2006 07:14 Hope that they will also release the SP5 version soon QUOTE(Jorsher @ Mar 2 2006, 20:00) I have a T-Mobile MDA...I figure if I use this ROM I'll have to manually enter a lot of the T-Mobile Settings. Which ones should I back up and should I just stick with the current ROM? Yeah... I'm using a Qtek on Vodafone... anyone know if it's worth waiting for the Qtek one or if flashing my 9100 with the imate rom won't make any difference? Like Jorsher, do i need to back anything up to keep me on Vodafone... is all that stuff not just on the sim card anyway? Cheers... |

I've had my QTek for a couple of months now. When I first got it the Wi Fi worked fine but now it doesn't connect to my Network. The thing is that it sees it, 'connects' but just doesn't get an ip address. Any ideas why this would be? No other computer on the network is having problems connecting. Any help much appreciated! UPDATE: after looking around i chaned the power settings to Best Performance... this fixed things!... weird! |

QUOTE(welshgaz @ Jan 15 2006, 19:45) try www.expansys.com I know they sell them there, or try the O2 or T-Mobile shops if you don't like buying on the net. Expansys do them for about £7 ish I think. Welshgaz cheers mate. found the spare on my bedroom floor. put it back in and the next day it wasn't there anymore. This is a serious flaw! What i really need is a stylus that stays put! Not going to spend money on getting a replacement Qtek one - i know it'll just fall out! |

I'm using version 1.2.0.89 I don't have any option to change the bit rate or quality so not sure what you're getting at. What version are you using that works fine? - can you throw a link in for me to pick it up? Cheers. |

I tried to use skype for the first time on my Qtek and couldn't get it to work well enough to have a conversation. I'm using th BETA 1.2 release. Managing to get it connected, I can ring someone and connect to them but cannot talk - delays and echos. It makes the Qtek ridiculously slow and crashed a couple of times. I resorted to taling through my PC. Annoying cause this was one of the main selling points of a device with wifi built it. Anyone able to fix this? |

QUOTE(Emad @ Dec 6 2005, 14:34) How odd - did you turn the sound off? I think that's the fastest for SNES emulation on the wizard. You can try PocketSNES and Morphgear (both free, google), but I've found those slower. Picodrive (see thread in smartphone games) runs games on the Genesis at near full speed - are there any carting games for that? I agree... definately odd. I've got PocketSNES installed too and the game runs exactly the same way - pretty much exactly same performance! Only emulator I've managed to get going is CEGG...? |

QUOTE(Emad @ Dec 5 2005, 21:21) Playable on my Qtek 9100, although a bit slow (still responsive). Takes a while to start and on some menus - you can get around this by doing a quick save once you're in. How is it unplayable for you? RPG's tend to work better Try changing your frameskip to 2 or 3 perhaps? edit 2: yep, just won a race, no problems. Sure, 50cc mushroom cup, but eh.. Frameskip was on auto. It's too jerky to play a game. Not fast enough even if I do adjust the frame skip. Any other emulators to try? |

QUOTE(Emad @ Dec 3 2005, 15:31) I thought I'd post my experiences with various emulators in this thread with the Wizard (Qtek 9100 to be precise). If anyone tries any others, just post and I'll edit it into the first post. So, to start.. SNES Snes9xj4u: You should download the first ARM link (version b1k). Setup: unzip, copy to anywhere (I popped the files into my start menu). Run once, then shut down (file -> bottom option). Open up your favourite registry editor (eg PHM RegEdit) and go to local machine\software\ce44u\snes9xj4u. Change Language from 0 to 1. Save and exit, start up Snes9xj4u. Should be in English now. Speed: Very fast. Even has sound (which sounds kinda crappy). Compatability: Low. Some games work, some games don't. It usually takes a little while to load a rom initially, so don't despair. Notes: No landscape support. Plays games in portrait even when keyboard out (can be useful..). I just.tried this on my qtek with mario kart... unplayable. |

QUOTE(chickyd @ Dec 1 2005, 14:23) .... arghhhhhh!!! This is resetting it but still not getting past the Qtek boot screen. It's only a week old and i'm seriously considering shipping it back if i can expect these kind of problems with it. I know people are trying to call too! Any more advice?   .... FIXED! I followed up on the thread you placed there and it says quite rightly that to get a hard reset you need to wait for a prompt to hit the send key. Press 2 soft keys for 5 secs, hit reset, holding soft keys for further 5 secs - prompt, hit send, done! Gutted I've lost all my settings and data. If this happens every week I'll be raging! |
