No seriously tho i just read the entire post on how to actually install these on the smartphone and found nothing. My smartphone will only install them if they are in a .cab mode and not in a .rar mode. so some help would be appreciated thanks RAR is a compression format much like ZIP. Use winrar to extract the files onto your pc and then transfer to your mobile via activesync. On the phone, navigate to the folder where the files were copied to, and run the exe to start the program. Goodluck, Parallax. |

Erm, that link shows discontinued... which is my point. Wow, what a horrible website that Brando is. I only see the flip top that your reffering to. How do I find the one that stays on my belt while I remove the Jasjar? There's no search function on the site... Opps, I just noticed you don't want the swivel belt clip...I guess these cases from Brando aren't right for you in that case. I don't know if they have any holster versions you're looking for. I guess my priorities are a little different to yours. I wanted a case that could easily be removed when I needed to, yet provided full protected whether it was in use or just sitting on my belt. My phones been dropped a few times and without the extra padding, my universal would have been a gonna. Plus the removable belt clip comes in handy when I'm getting in and out of the car. I just take the phone off and theres nothing restricting on my waist as I drive. With the belt holster types, I once had the misfortune of cracking my PDA screen because I accidently leaned on it too hard and the magnetic clasp applied enough pressure to break my touchscreen. I was very miffed and had to get the screen replaced at cost (phone was bought in HK). I never used that case again. Yeah I agree Brandos website isn't the best for navigation If you follow this link and then scroll down to O2xda Exec/Dopod 900/i-Mate JASJAR/Qtek 9000 section. You'll find 3 different versions. Its not a belt holster style. It does add some bulk but its to be expected if you want decent protection for your phone. Alternatively you can look at the cases provided by HandTec They have a soft leather case version going for £16, if you like buying from the uk. Again they might have your style of case. Good luck, Parallax |

I think it is, it just not a stocked item, look here. Hi, I got a Brando case, it was custom made for the device and it fits well with transparant cover over keyboard to protect it from dirty fingers. It has slots on the cover for credit cards and id cards. There is a screw in attachment on the back that allow you to use it with the supplied belt clip. This is extremely handy when you don't have a large pocket to put your universal in. They have the case in two flavors, either book style or flip-top. I opted for the flip-top as I think it looks better. I ordered it from their website shop.Brando.com.hk and it works out at less than £25 including delivery and takes 3-4 days to ship from HK. With the current exchange rate against the dollor you should be getting an even better deal. Cheers, Parallax |

Parallax, I just got a Motorola Q that runs windows mobile 5 and the screen is 320X240 The emulators run great on the phone but was wondering if you knew of any place I could get a hold of a NES emulator that would run the full 320X240 of my screen. The portrait mode works best on my phone with your emulators, it is just that it is small because the screen is Landscape. Hi, Unfortunately I don't know which versions out there would have the scaling function you are after. To be honest emus will only look good in their original resolution. Scaling routines are definitely possible as its been used in PocketGnuboy, although there will be slight performance hit in using the built in GDI scaling routines. Parallax. |

first off parralax thanks for the ace emulators. Being an spv c550 owner I find masteralls emulators sadly wont work properly on my phone. I am lucky that for a time at least you had the same phone as me , and your versions work great. have you any plans for updates or is that it now. Hi, Thanks for trying out my versions of the emu. I initially ported these over last year due to lack of available emus for QVGA smartphones, and having a look around the forum there seems to be much more on offer now. So its hard for me to justify spending any more time on these now. Plus I've moved on from the C550 and now have a HTC Universal (MDA Pro), so I may consider developing for that. Parallax. |

Hi Parallax Thanks for the reply, my C550 is app unlocked not network unlocked, working for Orange i don't think they would let me unlock it just yet lol. It's very strange because a collegue has managed to install no probs but i get the eror, both phones are app unlocked. Mark Hi, Thats very strange. I don't know what else to suggest. May be try running the exes from your phone memory rather than from sd card. Parallax |

Hi Parallax first off keep up the blinding work dude, well done and secondly i can't seem to get pico drive to work on my C550 (Unlocked), whenever i try to open the exe it says 'Unable to open the file the system returned this error, Access Denied' i know my h/set is unlocked i have loads of other progs on here. Any ideas? Thanks Its been a while since I look at this thread. The only thing I can think of is to have your phone Application Unlocked. This is different to having your phone unlocked to a specific mobile network. Do a search for "Application Unlock" and you'll find what you need. Parallax |

Is there a way to run this emulators coded and enhanced by master parallax in the JAMin pocket pc??? 2.- can you tell me links about where can i find this emulators in the pocketpc versions?? THANKS ALOT Hi ahumaro, The changes I made are for smartphone only. If you need the PocketPC versions just do a google search by emu name, they are available from many websites for free. Parallax. |

Relay - Sorry, I can't do much about the file selector dialog as I didn't write it. Request for chinese characters support should go to STomski who wrote it. Otherwise try to rename the file to something more acceptable by FileDialog.dll. jenya - The original Genesis system only had 3 buttons, having 6 buttons doesn't make sense in picodrive. ninajw - As usual I find it difficult to comprehend what you say! The problems you are experiencing probably has to do with which method of load/saving you are applying. If you are using the in game keys to do this then I would suggest you pause the game before saving. Saving the game whilst in motion/action may cause undesire restoration states, this could explain why the emu hangs on restore. Or simply use the menu save/restore options. Parallax. |

QUOTE(éron @ Feb 12 2006, 14:11) hello parallax feature request : You can associate a .gbc file with gnuboy.exe... that means you only have to execute the rom, the game automatically loads... it's great !!! would it be possible for the super nes and the genesis ?? (for these emus, you're forced to execute the emulator, then to make "menu> load rom") I'd launch my roms with my start menu\games folder, it would be great ! File association shouldn't be too difficult to add. I've quite busy at the moment so I won't know exactly when I'll be able to get around to doing it. PicoDrive doesn't have sound support at the moment. I'm not sure if it ever will this depends on if/when Dave@finalBurn.com gets around to including this feature in PicoDrive. PocketSNES simply crashes if I enable sound. I've not had time to delve into the code to see whats causing it. Sound on both these emus should be possible, but the frame rates would drop to the point where the emus are so slow, you wouldn't want to play them. BitBank is working on his own versions of Genesis and SNES emus written in ARM assembler which is much faster, so you can expect sound to be working on those... Parallax. |

QUOTE(éron @ Feb 6 2006, 12:13) hello parallax20 congratulations for your fantastic job... pocket gnu boy works wonderful the pico drive too mario kart is unfortunately too slow for my spv c600 i've tried to play at the mame emulator, but i didnt manage to load any downloaded rom... EDIT : i finally found where to locate my roms : create a directory roms on the same folder as this of mamece3.exe and put the zips on it BUT still doesn't work : when I load the rom, i come back automatically on the start page, without crash but without game... if you could help me for that, it would be wonderful thank you again mister parallax for your great work !!! MameCE is quite fussy and will only run ROMS 0.36 versions only. Most ROMS out there have been updated, but there are a few thta will still run. A member posted instructions on how to convert newer roms to the 0.36 format. You could give that a try. When you select the ROM from the game list, make sure you select the correct version...i.e. US/world/Jap....even though a rom may register as all 3 variants of the same game only one will run. Poolkv - Have you actually clicked on "Open" with the left menu key to open the file? When you select using your middle cursor key that will only select the currently highlighted file. To run the rom you need to open it as well. Parallax. |

QUOTE(josh_lomas @ Feb 5 2006, 01:15) You need to hit the "options" key as defined by you through "Config Keys" menu option, or it'll be the default which should be "right soft button". This will pause the game and return you to the main menu, where you can then select to save/restore your games. All my ports have this option available apart from Mame. kevinsephiroth - sorry I don't have an answer to this...the gnuboy core was written years ago and hasn't been updated since. This may have been before the Pokemon craze came about, so wasn't updated to support it. There is a slight quirk with PocketGnuboy...some games refuse to load depending on if the sound is on/off. Try playing with "Sound enabled" setting...you may have to live with the sound permenantly on/off for some games. Parallax. |

QUOTE(josh_lomas @ Feb 2 2006, 18:25) K, so ive downloaded picodrive, but when i open it it comes up with that screen sayin, "select program to open with" ARRRRRRRGGGGGAAAARRRRR I am dazed and confused You need winrar to extract the files from the archive. Then you transfer the two files Picodrive.exe and FileDialogSP.dll to your phone, put them in the same directory to make it run. To be honest, anybody who doesn't know anything about extracting archive files or transfering files to their phone really shouldn't be messing around with this kind of stuff. If you get it wrong it could mess up your phone and in the worst case make your phone defunct. So you need to be careful of what you're doing...and if you don't know, do plenty of research on the net beforehand. Just google it...answers are there. Sorry for the rant. Parallax. |

QUOTE(josh_lomas @ Feb 1 2006, 18:06) Right, ive managed to extract them both and put them both on my phone, But now when i try and open either of them, it says: cant find "pocketSNES 1.39" (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are available. what's that all about? I don't know if the space in the filename might be causing a problem. Rename it to PocketSnes.exe. The only extra libraries it requires is the FileDialog.dll, but check if you have gx.dll in your windows folder just to be sure. Have you tried my other emus? Did they work out of the box, so to speak? If not then a vital library file is missing from your phone. Parallax. |

Once your phone is connected you will see "mobile" under my computer. Extract the rar archive, there will be two files, copy these to your phone. You will need SPFileManager or something similar to access the file system of your phone. Simply go to where you copied pocketsnes on the phone and start the app. Parallax. |

QUOTE(mskovrinskie @ Jan 28 2006, 18:37) Is it possible to modify these updated emulators for full compatibility on WM5 PPC (instead of just Smartphone)? They all run, but for obvious reasons, features like consistent GUI, touchscreen support, and keymapping, don't work as expected. Yep, this is possible... All these apps were ported from pocketPC, so you could just download that version. If they are not directly compatible with WM5 off the shelf, then you would need to write to the original developers requesting this feature to be added. Parallax. |

In the original version of Picodrive it does not have the FileDialogSP so dont know if that has something to do with it?? FileDialogSP.dll was designed for smartphones to emulate the OpenFile dialog of PocketPC. You can try uploading this along with the exe to see if it works. The keys you use to to select the file may be mapped differently...try to find out what the equivilant action button of the joystick and also menu and contacts soft buttons are for your pocketpc. QUOTE(snl686 @ Jan 26 2006, 01:23) Hi There, My first post and hope I'm not breaking any rules :?: but have been playing around with emulators on my XDA IIs and was wondering if anyone can help. Morphgear is really good but wont play some of my Sega games although they play with the following Pocketgenesis (Version 1) is awesome - will play landscape but cant map buttons Pocketgenesis (Version 2) can map buttons but just plain wont work on my unit? Picodrive is also great but no landscape - Parrallax20 has done some great work to this for the smartphone and love using it on my C550 in landscape so was wondering if anyone could do the same for the PPC version? I have learnt loads from this site but unfortunatley know nothing about programming or code so dont know how difficult it would be to update any of the above (would ideally love to be able to map buttons in Pocketgenesis as full screen landscape is wicked!!) but would welcome any suggestions at all. Cheers It shouldn't be that difficult to make the necessary changes, it just takes a dedicated person to spend a little time looking at the code. PicoDrive was ported from the PocketPC version and uses a lot of the same code, but I had to rework some of it to operate correctly on smartphones. Have you tried running my build of PicoDrive on your XDA, it might work? Worth giving it a try. Parallax. |
