Contact your credit card company.. explain it to them.. if they agree they'll retract the transaction Call the company you bought it from and explain your credit card company agree's with you. So do they want the phone back or what? If they give you grief tell them to talk to your credit card company as its now out of your hands. This only works if you actually have a valid point. Its a speedy way to get your money back and put the ball in their court chasing you instead. If you do this without good ground, eventually your credit card company will enter it into dispute and if you loose the company may be really pissy and try to charge you everything they posibly can. Anyway explain to your credit card company and ask them what to do, that's the whole point of using credit cards (apart from the credit of course!) |

Its looking for a DLL that isn't present on your OS. Sometimes the dll is just for some obscure feature you might never use. In that case you can fake it. Download PE explorer: http://www.heaventools.com/PE_Explorer_disassembler.htm and use the dependancy scanner to find all the dll's the program wants/needs. Most will be windows ROM dll's like core.dll, but you may see a couple of others. See if there are 'hacks' for these on your OS and copy them into the same directory, otherwise just make up a file with the same name and put it in the directory. Sometimes this works if the dll isn't used by the main program. |

Not that i know of... but you can try to get PPC2003 versions of sjphone to work: http://www.sjlabs.com/sjp.html PPC CE.net, 2002, 2003 and wm5 beta's may also be worth a try: http://www.sjphone.org/preview/ce/ good luck! |

Cicerophone does the job (over WiFi and over GPRS {to some degree}) and i can confirm i have it working fine - but they won't sell it as single license for normal people. They'll only sell in large licenses to business so you won't be able to get a copy. See the other thread on here, many have already tried. You can use sjphone (again look in the other thread, i posted instructions), but its fidly because its a workaround. Aside from those two options i havn't seen or heard of any others for SIP. Other 'voip' clients alike skype do exist, but of course you are stuck with their rates. |

Its the same on the smartphone yes. However you can't kill a GPRS data connection by holding red (it'll just lock the keypad). you have to open comm manager and then disconnect the active data connection from there. Phil Hmm works on my SP5.. it doesn lock the keypad too most of the time.. you have to release it just in time to disconnect the GPRS, but not lock the keypad. Anyway no big deal, just unlock it afterwards |

I think that I would like to see subsidies by the networks reduced ...it would be nice to see the upgrade market cool down a bit, as it might mean the end to this incessant 'drip feed' of technology by the manufacturers. I don't agree.. If you want to, you can sign up for contract only today. They'll actually pay you the difference in cash (after month 3 or 6 etc). The networks won't do this directly, but smaller retailers will happily do it. It makes no difference to them, in fact they prefer it. For example take T-Mobile, they force retailers to buy phones from them. They won't allow any returns AT ALL, doesn't matter what the reason is. I think all the networks are doing this now, which means the retailer is left holding the baby if the network decides to make stupid tariff changes (like orange for example), and no one wants to buy the phones. Havn't you noticed alot of stores now only seem to hold one or two handsets in stock, and get it shiped to you direct if they can. I think that if phones weren't subsidized here in the US, the prices for handsets would ultimately come down and there would be more choice. Then with costs lowered, the cell phone companies would be able to compete more aggressively for pricing minutes either in contracts or on pre-paid plans. Well that's the whole point. They DONT want to be more agressive on prices. Remember each network has a monopoly on calls to their subscribers. No one else but say t-mobile can connect calls to t-mobile customers. All they have to do is enough to keep those customers. The outgoing call prices are also high enough that they make a fair ammount there as well. Why crash the mobile call price for now reason? No network wan't to do that - it just decreases profits for everyone! If subsidy stops, all that will happen is it'll leave (ALOT) less room in the tariff for you to haggle over. |

The dutch market is very different to others across europe, and is fast aproaching the danish model where nearly every network charges about the same discount rate. It's VERY VERY unlikely that this will happen in places like france, germany and the UK where competition between networks is still high. In the UK for example the prepay market is growing at an unprecidented rate and the only incentive networks have are promotional subsidies. If they reduce their prepay tariffs too low, they jeaprodise their contract tarrifs. While prepay phones are being subsidised contract surely have to as well. At worst (or best depends how you look at it) the networks may try out contract only tarrifs again. If you look at the figures tho, the true price of the same tarrif varies drastically across the market. On one side you have the clueless idiot who buys the cheapest phone the retail store pushed on him, with a super high line rental tarriff. Here the cost of the tariff is super high, and comission is huge for the retailer/network. On the other side you have the shrude geek who's checked all over google and found the most subsidised handset on that same tarriff. Here the true cost of the tariff is much much lower and the retailer/network makes almost nothing - they expect to make calls on SMS or calls not covered by the plan. On average the network makes somewhere between these two - so 'subsidy' makes sense for them. Remember subsidy works both ways for them. When they say the market is more adult what they really mean is that its got to a point where everyone knows the true value of a tariff. At this point there is no reason to subsidise since it can only work against them. They then think they may as well forget the subsidy and just be up front about the true tariff cost. Do you really think markets like germany, france and UK have reached this point yet? Just take a look at the new orange tariffs, surely there are some people out there signing up for these outpriced tarrifs or they would have been withdrawn. |

You have several options: - Use bluetooth like you're saying. Remember it will impact battery life having bluetooth on all that time. Go to accessories menu and turn on modem link. Then just pair the devices and it will find a new dial up device. Dial *99# and it'll connect through your phone using GPRS. - As above, but use the USB cable. This makes much more sense as your laptop will charge your phone at the same time - Get a 2G or 3G datacard + sub like you're saying - Get a 2G or 3G datacard from ebay. Then buy a T-mobile pay as you go. You can look up the exact rates, but the important thing is they are doing a cap of £1 a day on data. i.e. the max charge for a day is £1 no matter how much u use. This might make the most sense for you if you're only using it a few days a month |

Most likely a cell in the battery has died. New batteries aren't that much.. between £10 to £25 I would recommend you stick to a genuine battery.. i've ordered from these guys before. http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/cat/SP5-Batteries.htm You may find cheaper, but usually they don't specifiy its genuine, which means it probably isnt! Also you may stumble upto a higher capacity battery at m-99.co.uk, but don't order from there.. I did before and had to pester them for weeks, only to receive completely the wrong battery. Now they just ignore my emails. I suspect they don't actually hold any items in stock and just reship them from china. |

I ordered a 1400mAh battery for my SP5 from there.. I didn't hear anything for a while so i emailed. I emailed again a few days later. The next day i got a 8010 750mAH battery through the post. No invoice, nothing. It looked like he got sick of me emailing and popped it into a jiffy bag that day. I emailed again, and got no reply. I have to contact my bank now for a chargeback.. i wouldn't order anything from these guys if i were you. |

I once had this call around 4pm after working late the previous night - the woman woke me up while i was sleeping. I was half asleep and she said, oh you sleeping? I said erm yeah, can you call back another time. She said SLEEPING? what time is this to sleep I was half asleep but this woke me up, and i said look, this isnt a convenient time, call back later... in fact i'm not interested, don't call me again. She said oh well if your not interested in saving £150 (or some figure i forget now) then how can i help you i said well you can help me by putting the phone down and not calling me again, frankly £150 is cheap for not having to speak to you again LOL Usually i'm polite but firm, because alot of these sales people are just doing what they been told, but that kind of nonsense from her i won't put up with! |

Mobile review have a nice run down with lots of pic on the phone sp00k mentioned. It looks a bit too much like a calculator for me review is here I rememberes seeing a similar phone on ebay and have tracked it down too. Dimentions are slightly smaller than the samsung in some areas and slightly bigger in others Ebay item is here Please note I am not pluging the ebay auction at all and am just providing the link for your information. I think it looks a bit nocer than the samsung myself. atb gR The Samsung is pretty good, it has pretty much the same features as the D500, and i beleive is on O2 and vodafone already. The ebay one isn't very good at all, it has very outdated features and build quality is very poor. I considered the Samsung myself as a second phone (thats the only reason i'd buy something so small), but after seeing it in the case, it does look somewhat like a calculator! Next time i go to my friends place i'll power it up and see how it looks then. I guess you don't need to use it in the case (although the second battery is in there). |

These problems has been resolved in latest version (1.13 final): CoolCamera Version 1.13 (2006.7.24) - Ability to assign actions to hardware buttons and touchscreen. - Frames accumulation in Interval Mode (for noise reduction). - Auto reconnect in Webcam mode. - CoolCameraXP: hotkey for making photo (Space key). - Webcam Driver: image resizing to target resolution. - Compatibility improved. - Bugs fixed. Hmm i bought it on the 24th actually. I'll redownload and check with v1.13 |

Isn't this £8 bundle exactly what t-mobile are offering for £7.50? I don't really see the argument about the restrictions as t-mobile also have them. I guess if your on orange already, or prefer it over t-mobile for other reason, say reception in your area, your not going to switch to t-mobile for 50p a month. |

i reassigned my contacts button under the left softkey to go straight to the task manager for switching and killing apps easily. just replace the Short_AP1.lnk file in the windows folder with another shortcut to reassign. Phil I just set a speed dial to task manager. So i just press and hold "2" and the task manager pops up. Also usefull for memory reclaiming apps like oxsis hibernate and closeall. I tried xbar a few times but could never get it to work properly. It just crashed often and did wierd things. |

thing is they have a limited number of charge cycles before they get knackered. one of the main problems with ipods is that people charge them when there is no need to so they effectively 'use up' the available charge cycles which results in the battery not being able to hold a charge. Phil I knew i'd explained it before: http://www.modaco.com/content/forum/233693/http-www-modaco-com-index-php-showtopic-233693/ |

I bought it.. it works ok but the webcam times out ever 5 or 10 mins and the app closes itself. Anoying as hell really. Also alot of the time it gets in a wierd state where it won't work with MSN etc, but only the viewing/capture program that gets installed on the PC. A soft boot of the phone fixes it tho. The webcam over WiFi is really cool, but again it freezes and looses conection too often, so your constantly going back to your pc to restart the webcam. All in all usefull if it worked better, but in its current state just another 'kinda working' program for smartphone. |

Lithium Ion batteries charge to 70% VERY quickly.. usually within 1 hour. The remaining 30% takes longer. Draining Lithium Ion batteries down to empty is NOT RECOMENDED. It will cause damage to your battery. Repeated charged when near full isn't recomended either.. That will also cause damage to your battery. Do a search its a well discussed topic. These old scenarios of laving it charging for 24 hours from new, and drain to empty and full charge don't apply to lithium ion batteries and will actually make them worse. |

did you try it on the tornado? on the website they say to try the 1.13, which is a beta version anyway capturing at higher resolution goes too slow until you lower the compression quality or turn off the sound on their website there were some benchmark showing a rather optimistic 14 fps for the tornado @ 320x240. I can obtain 14 fps at 320x240, but at the cost of lowering the cmpression quality to 55% and turning off sounds!! try making the 'preview' smaller or black and white. I played with it a long while ago now - although it does work _ok_ at higher resolutions after fiddling, there's no increase in quality at the same resolutions the built in camera app does, as some claim. Also the interface is horrible. |

Calculate the total montly line renatl term and what you get for it. Compare that to a sim only deal, or a deal where you get another high price mobile which you can sell on ebay. Compare that to online deals with 3rd parties through o2 or vodafone (like phones2udirect) and you'll see there's about £30 in it for the best of those options. Now think about it realistically and decide on the best option. Sometimes people get to bogged down on handset price, sing up for a stupid contract and regret in 4 months down the line.. don't be one of them! |
