From the press release on MS's Windows Mobile site http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2...4-01WM61PR.mspx The update will be available to mobile phone partners in the third quarter of 2008, with the first Windows Mobile phones using the new version expected to be available by the end of 2008. Take into consideration that users will have to wait additional time for each partner to put together their own rom and you're looking at the end of the year. |

You had this working earlier, so I am not sure if I have the right answer for you. But Activesync 4.1 documentation does say that is for WM5. The download page on Microsoft web site says: Check this: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/dow...tivesync41.mspx Pavan Yeah... I had 4.1 working for months. But I went ahead and tried uninstalling it and installing 3.8, no luck. It doesn't give the error message, but it won't connect with Activesync period. |

Hey all, I've searched all I could but couldn't find a resolution for my problem. Here's the laydown... I have a SMT 5600 (C500, Typhoon) that has worked perfectly for quite some time now. I upgraded to Async 4.1 upon it's final release and it worked fine up untill today. I plugged in my phone to update some calendar entries and I get a dialog box that states the following.. ![]() I tried uninstalling ASync and reinstalling to no avail. I also read to disable my firewall...but I'm not even running a SW firewall on this system. I tried installing the 4.2 beta with no luck as well. I can't even browse the phone via windows explorer nor can I use Active View for remote display. It's as if the phone wasn't even connected to my computer! Edit: I just relized the last day it did sync (May 29th) was the day that I ran HTC Unlock, is there anyway short of doing a hardrest to return my phone back to pre-HTC Unlock form? |

Try this, while you have the MMS open, click right soft key, choose object view, then save the picture. I have done the same for .wav (sound files) I have received, and am assuming you can do the same for pics. I tried that, but where does it save to? I've check all over my storage card and couldn't find the photos. |

QUOTE(Disco Stu @ Dec 1 2005, 14:16) A lot of us are having the same problem but we're not worrying too much about it. You could check the SBSH forum - Facade resources section - to see if there is a solution in the skin's page there. Click here? This skin rocks big time anyway 8) Thanks Disco Stu, I went ahead and reinstalled smart monitor per the advice in the link and everything is working fine now. I also have a new forum to start browsing 8) Thanks again. |

Hi, love the look of the homescreen...but I'm having trouble getting the RJShortcut icons to work on my C500. I cut and paste my RJ Shorcuts right out of another home.xml that I used to use, but they still show up as red ?'s when entered into the WindowsFreeStylerV2.home.xml in \Storage\Application Data\Home Here's my RJ Shortcut section... CODE <!-- RJSHORTCUT --> <plugin clsid="{F3750050-8E30-4c61-A864-4301F5D7C065}" height="40"> <background b-border-width="0"> <format state="selected" valign="bottom" bgimage="\Storage\Application Data\Home\wfsv2\programs1.jpg" /> </background> <format padding-left="6" padding-top="4" padding-bottom="3" /> <shortcutbar icon-spacing="1" icon-size="large" button-image="\Storage\Application Data\Home\wfsv2\selected.bmp" button-transparent-color="#000000"> <shortcut target="\Windows\tmail.lnk" iconfile="\Storage\Application Data\Home\Desktop\DesktopIcons.exe" iconindex="-9"/> <shortcut target="\Windows\Calendar.lnk"/> <shortcut target="\Windows\Tasks.lnk"/> <shortcut target="\Storage\Windows\Start Menu\Resource Manager.lnk" /> <shortcut target="\Windows\Album.exe"/> </shortcutbar> </plugin> <!-- RJSHORTCUT --> <plugin clsid="{F3750050-8E30-4c61-A864-4301F5D7C065}" height="40"> <background b-border-width="0"> <format state="selected" valign="bottom" bgimage="\Storage\Application Data\Home\wfsv2\programs2.jpg" /> </background> <format padding-left="6" padding-top="4" padding-bottom="3" /> <shortcutbar icon-spacing="1" icon-size="large" button-image="\Storage\Application Data\Home\wfsv2\selected.bmp" button-transparent-color="#000000"> <shortcut target="\Storage\windows\Start Menu\TCPMP.lnk" iconfile="\Windows\WMPlayer.lnk"/> <shortcut target="\Windows\CamCorder.exe"/> <shortcut target="\Storage\windows\Start Menu\Games\smartNES.lnk" iconfile="\Storage\windows\Start Menu\Games\gnuboy.lnk"/> <shortcut target="\Storage\Windows\Start Menu\Internet Explorer.lnk" /> <shortcut target="\Windows\Calc.lnk"/> </shortcutbar> </plugin> |

Hi all, first post here... been lurking/reading for awhile now though. Well here's my problem: I installed ActiveSync 4.0 in hopes of being able to use Com 19-20 for BT Synching, but now I can't even sync via USB either. When I try to sync this is what pops up... ![]() I'm able to access the phone via Windows Explorer to transfer files with no problem, but I can't sync (which is more important to me). I've tried everything from reinstalling 4.0 to uninstalling 4.0 and reinstalling 3.7 (The version that my SMT 5600 came with). When I tried to plug in the phone via USB with 3.7 installed the ActiveSync window won't even pop-up. The system tray icon lights up green as if everything is fine... but I can't initiate a sync, nor can I go into the settings to see if something is wrong in there. I went ahead and upgraded 3.7 to 3.8 and it had the same symptoms...ActiveSync wouldn't pop up for me to use! As of now I've reinstalled 4.0 so at least I can move files back and forth. But as I mentioned above regaining the ability to synch is priority #1 for me. I've CTRL-ALT-DEL'd any applications that I think would be conflicting w/ ActiveSync (Google Desktop's E-mail notifier, Anti-Virus, etc) After all of this I still can't sync over BT either. The phone connects to ActiveSync (green circle in ActiveSync 4.0's window), but the progress bar never moves. I've done some searching and tried almost everything I could find; from disabling a firewall (I don't even have one, and the WindowsXP firewall is disabled), short of doing a hard reset on the phone. Any help is greatly appreciated! |
