Good points.

I'm just confused because it seems as if alot of people sell their contract phones.

QUOTE(fluffcat1 @ Sep 9 2005, 21:32)
I *personally* wouldn't buy someone's current contract handset - especially an orange one - as in the event of that person not paying the bill that's the phone they'll block the IMEI of for non-payment. As phones are provided cheap by a subsidy from the network operator I would think they could argue that if still in the minimum term the phone is partly their property. Also the seller could have insurance on it and claim on it 6 months down the line, then you've got a blocked handset. But I ain't no legal expert.

A local second hand shop won't buy a phone in unless you provide proof it's outside a contract term, bought offline or PAYG.

just my thoughts.

Hi,

I just got a phone on upgrade from orange.

I was just wondering, will there be any issues if i sell it straight away?

I registered a new sim etc, but wanna keep my SPV c500 - still no phone i want apart from it.

Anyway - am i allowed to do this?

And if i sell it on ebay and it gets into the wrong hands, will I be liable?

Thanks

Try to disconnect the GPRS, or even restart the phone if you have no such option. It shouldn't take so long.
Next time you do it, try the pass-through connection.

Edit: You will be charged for the traffic, not for the time.

I've tried restarting and all that.

I phoned up orange, stupid woman said "u can only access gprs by being on the IE screen"

Useless!!

I just wanna disable GPRS now, how do i do that?

Firstly get you can get a online square deal by asking for it in any orange store. That way u get ure fone straight away.

Member get member - if ure not a customer of orange i.e. uve cancelled contract then quote this and any orange customer of ure choice gets £50 while u get £25.

Give in old handset - give in any old handset, i gave in a 3210, and you get £50 credited to ure account!

My contract will cancel on the 30th august.

I wanna go into the orange shop today and get my new fone but i have no ID on me. Will i still be able to get the fone? The details for the new contract are the same as the old.

I have cards and my work id which has a photo on it, will that do?

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but wudnt it be good to have a subforum dedicated to bug fixes and features ppl want in the nxt version? Set out kinda like the Catalogue - Commercial section.

That way wen HTC or whoever are developing the new handset, or microsoft are developing the new OS, they can have a look at the list for inspiration - seeing as this site is at the top of smartphone sites.

Just a suggestion....

I phoned up orange today requesting termination on my current contract. He asked why, and i said that i was prob gonna go to the 3 network - hoping he'd maybe offer me a better contract at orange.

Thing is im planning on goin onto an orange sq deal. Instead of cancelling my contract @ orange, the guy said he'd give me a PAC code and when i used it, my current contract wud be cancelled automatically.

So if i get a sq deal, what do i do? give my pac code? will my current contract cancel? or shall i fone up again and ask or a proper termination?

thanks

I have the following problems:

I cant hear anything wen i call anyone or pick up a call.
If someone calls me, my phone will automatically pick it up after a second or so - but i still cant hear anything.
I can change the profiles ok, so im guessing its not the general headset problem.
When trying to use GPRS, i get a msg saying "cant connect to data, end voice call first"

HELP!
