Well I've just ordered mine from; Mobile phones Direct vodafone over 18months £420, with unlimited web and 500 mins / 100 texts. Seems like a good deal to me.

I beleive the vodafone 'unlimited' has a limit of 500MB, where as the orange 'unlimited' has a limit of 250MB, which was the other deals i was considering, i think the orange would have been £2.50 a month more expensive.

Though, i haven't got the phone from these guys yet, so it is yet to be seen what the customer service is like.

Hi there, I'm looking for some insight into living with the HD Touch. As is probably quite common I am trying to choose between one and an iphone3g.

Now I must say, that I'm not a big fan of apple products generally speaking, I don't get on with my ipod and itunes, and I find that personally they are often over hyped and more focused on style rather than content, but yesterday having tried an iphone in the shop again compared to the HD touch, it did feel very slick and responsive to use in the short time I was with it, but that display on the HD touch is gorgeous.

I'm coming from a HTC s620, which has been a terrific phone, and one of my main worries going to a touch interface is the keypad functionality and responsiveness and ease of typing, as i am lightning fast on my S620. The other thing that bothers me a little is that I used to own an XDA mini, and I don't want to keep reverting back to a stylus to do simple operations. Essentially I want my touch phone to be 'touch' operated really.

How do you guys find the Touch HD to use, do you find yourselves reaching for the stylus?

And does the resolution of the display really make a difference, compare to the same size (almost) display of the iphone. PS i really like the browsing experience on the iphone, shame HTC haven't got multi touch going yet.

The HTC is going to cost me a little more to buy £5 extra a month, which is another consideration, i guess I'm wondering if the improvements in the HTC hardware justify the extra cost in the long run, and out weigh the slick software on the iphone?

Opinions would be appreciated. cheers

Hi,

I have a HTC-S620 - unlocked, somehow I do not have the option of choosing input method - for example: using word or notepad i cannot type in letters like QWER,ASDF,ZXCV - somehow it looks like I do not have the option 12#, xt9 text input mode, lower case or upper case. I tried to install the following:

Excalibur_eT9_Lang_Pack_v1.cab
MoDaCo_Shadow_XT9_Language_Pack_1.1.CAB
MoDaCo_Vox_eT9_Language_Pack.cab
s620_Lang_Pack_v1_2.cab

if I want to input 'a' i get a 'space', 'w' is '.' and so on...

each time I did not get to the option to choose the language option nor the phone automatically selects the appropriate input mode.

I have WM6.1 STANDARD.

This is my first smart phone - please help.

Hi i have just upgraded to 6.1 and have exactly the same issue, does anyone know the answer? or did you resolve the issue neil?

Cheers

That sounds like a good idea. I would like to know this too.

Maybe there is some way of making a shortcut to the new appointment function. If so, then you can use the registry hack to change the softkey to the shortcut.

Just a thought.

Yep, I wanna change this button to a start button, but every app I've tried installing won't let me do it.

yep got mine yesterday too, and that conected to my G home network, though whether it's droping everything to 11mbs who knows.

I lasted a day with the 02 gubbins, it's all off now, and using my vodafone contract up on the handset. Found a free unlocker on, buzzdev

I wish I new how to operate the task manager with only the buttons, am I missing something?

Gonna try those reg edits now to see if I can get a bit more performance out of the box.

Just ordered my XDA mini from this place today...

http://www.buymobilephones.net/store/merch...95-Phones.ihtml

cheapest I could find it anywhere, opted for £29.99 for the handset, plus the 250 12 montn contract, which suites me ideally.

I think the T-mobile is possibly a better deal, but I've heard too many horror stories about coverage round here, and it's an 18th Month contract, which I don't like.

mobilefun has some good offers, but no stock unfortunately.....

Can't wait....

Hi, currently looking at the possibilty of getting T-Mobile Vario, but I'm afraid of rubbish coverage, as i had a nasty experience with a 3 phone two years ago.

Is anyone using a t-mobile network in or around Manchester England, and can you tell me what the coverage is like?
Cheers

Hi, I'm on the verge of getting an XDA Mini S, having been very happy with my spv e200, and less so with my P910i. But i have a couple of questions before I take the plunge.

1. Wifi, is it g compatible? does this require some sort of rom flashing?

2. Can you active sync over wifi, or is it bluetooth only?

3. What kind of battery life are people getting out of this device?

4. I've seen a cheap/er offer for the k-Jam @ http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/o2/7494.htm , is it the same phone as the XDA, or is there software missing, or is it infact better because it has less crap on it.

5. anyone using the vario in Manchester? whats T-mobile coverage like here, don't want a repeat of the 3 massacre of 2 years ago with no coverage, but t-mobile seem to offer some goods deals.
