No you can not. The fornt camera is only for 3g video calls as far as I am aware.

i still hope we can. there are other 3G phones like motorola's non-windows phones which let's you use the front camera to take pictures. it makes taking self-photos much easier. rolleyes.gif

anybody knows if there's any tweak on this regard for the i600?

If you can help find me an app where I can change the read-only, change the system files, and/or edit them via ROM editor then I'll find a way around this one for sure.

have you tried Resco Explorer to change Read-only or System file attributes?

First version already available

http://www.modaco.com/index.php?automodule...p;showfile=2043

Its quite limited for now, but you already can use it to enter text into apps that build-in T9 can not. And you can keep using T9 where you see it fit more.

I still aim for complete T9 replacement, but this is not easy task and it will take some time smile.gif

hey thanks for the effort! i'll give it a try. biggrin.gif

EDIT:

I've tried it and it works the way as you described. Thanks. smile.gif

Now, would it be difficult if you make it like the standard "multitap" instead of choosing via the "0+" key? I find it slow in typing using your modified version. but, hey, i might get used to it. smile.gif

Nonetheless, great work. It works when the ASUS T9 doesn't. Especially in PIE and contacts. Cool! cool.gif
Hope you can find time to finish the "complete T9 replacement". wink.gif

Whenever i'm browing using Pocket Internet Explorer, T9 is disabled (or just numbers are active). Hence, i cannot use it to input username/password/messages i'm posting. instead i have to use the SIP. sad.gif

I was just surprised you mentioned that T9 works for you in "all applications". Is there any tweak or upgrade i should do so i can use T9 when using PIE?

Thanks...

i noticed u had a E instead of G in the top right corner. how do u use Edge instead of GPRS?

o and no i dont no how to change the directory sorry. i wish that more things would save, like audio and video usually don't save, it goes to a scrpited page instead, cuz most audio and video is ment to go to wmp on a pc.

Edge should be supported by your network. if it's supported, and you have Edge coverage on your area, your device automatically uses Edge as default.

Depending on your rom, you should be able to see "E" instead of "G" to indicate that your device is using the Edge network.

If you're using QTek rom, the "E" icon is enabled by default. if you're using Imate or Dopod, you can do the tweak as posted on the SP5 Tweaks thread to enable the "E" icon. smile.gif

I've now tried with Media Player 10 at home and can get nothing at all. Media Player doesn't recognise my phone sad.gif

if you're having problems syncing your media files and playlists using WMP10, then the next best thing is to dump all your music files on your storage card and create your playlists on your device.

And if you're using WMP on your device which doesn't have support for creating playlists, you could try Playlist Manager SP, it's freeware.

It must be a registry hack to switch the directory..

By default, the phones save anything downloaded in Pocket IE to the phones "My Documents" folder.. there must be a registry hack to switch that..

Any ideas??

before downloading anything, i get a prompt saying "Download (etc etc...)?"

and Left softkey says "Yes", while the right softkey says "Menu." When i press "Menu", i get the option "Save As," wherein i could choose to download to the Storage Card.

But, if there's a registry tweak to make Storage Card as the default destination, that would be nice. smile.gif

Hi!

I can't find the key DataPath="\Application Data\Tao\intent" in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tao\JMM. huh.gif unsure.gif
Please help me! I own a C600.

Cheers!

DataPath is not a key. It's a string value. So, after clicking on JMM key, press the left softkey which says "Values" and you should be able to see the string value "DataPath".

good luck. smile.gif

Finally I got my phone back from the service center. But not really satisfy with my battery life. After collected the phone, the technician asked me to charge the phone 6-7 hours. At first I thought everything was ok. I have make a first call to my friend. Talk for 5 mins, and guess what? The battery drained 3% and end up with 97% left.

I have fully charged my phone at 5pm. I didnt off my phone at night, and make few calls. Estimately, my total talk time was around 20 mins. Now at 9am, my battery only remain 40%. Guys, do you think this is normal?

hmmm... i have a Dopod577w with the latest Dopod rom. my battery lasts for more than 36 hours. and that's with about 30 mins voice call, around 100 SMS (send/receive), a few MMS (send/receive), about 3 hours web browsing (yep), among other stuff i do with my Tornado. huh.gif

The screen res of the 8310/sp5 is 320 x 240 but when I install a jave game with the same res it does not play full screen and the top and bottom java ap menu bars mask the top and bottom of the game and hide part of the game.

Therefore, what screen res games shoud I install to fit within the boarders of the java app?

Also is it possible to play full screen games without the annoying java manager boarders?

Finally can someone list some phones with compatible screen resolution so it will be easy to find games for the 8310.

Many thanks

some games for the SE700i and MotorolaV3x works on the Tornado. Both have 240x320 screen as well. just google-lize. smile.gif

QUOTE(deBruineBeren @ Jan 4 2006, 11:49)
@ Tech, thanks for the hint.

What I want to do is place a value in a textbox and fill the empty spaces in front of the value with zeros.

This is the code i'm using now thanks to your hint:
CODE
Dim LongGraden As String = MathClass.Graden(Longitude)
           txtLongGraden.Text = LongGraden.PadLeft(txtLongGraden.MaxLength, "0")

The Matclass.Graden calculates the Longitude in degrees.
The Maxlenght of textbox txtLongGraden = 2
So if the Longitude in degrees is for example 4 the textbox wil show 04.
If the Longitude is 52 (here in the Netherlands) the textbox wil just show 52.

Thanks again.
Alex.

you may also want to use the Format string function. It's more flexible. smile.gif

yes, IMHO, tech is right. if you plan to program for a specific device to use, get the device ID of the phone instead of the SIM.

you can visit this link and check if this could be of any help to you.
