My batt life is now absolutely atrocious! Before the update the phone wouldnt need a charge for a few days, but now, well I'm lucky if it lasts for 24 hours. I normally leave the phone in (what is now) aeroplane mode overnight as I use it as an alarm clock, but I'm lucky if it doesnt wake me up early bitching about it's battery life.
One thing I've noticed.....even tho the backlight timer is set to 5 seconds, it seems to stay on for a good 30 seconds or so, even after a re-start. Most odd. That's probably got something to do with it, cos god knows how many times the light is accidentally activated while the phones rattling around in my pocket during the day. Not many I'd guess as only 1 button can activate it while it's locked, but hey, that's one of my theories. |

I was beginning to wonder if it was actually IE at fault until I read this thread. What I've been doing when all IE shows is 'dialling' is: use the home key to back out of IE, then use the back key (or go into the progs menu and select it) to go back into IE, then reselect what ever site I was trying to get into from my favorites list. Doesnt work every time, but works more often than not. |

Hmm yeah, this happened to me a little while ago....
My spv was sitting on the table minding it's own business, while I was sorting a few things out. Suddenly started ringing. Nothing wrong with that u may ask, phones have a habit of doing such things. I didnt manage to get to it in time, and when I got to it, and checked the missed calls log, the funny thing was that the number that had called was MY landline, which was impossible as I was the only person in the house, and was putting my coat on ready to leave for work at the time. Most odd. Only happened the once. |

Hmmm, I do rather like the look of that one. Best looking SPV competitor I've seen so far, that's for sure. If it IS running Smartphone, which I doubt, I might be very tempted. |

Yeah, open access is WAP via GPRS. I.e. it uses a GPRS connection to access wap sites, and doesnt (to my knowledge) give u full net access. |

QUOTE Can no-one explain why i can't sign up to this trial, i feel left out!! I'm assuming you've clicked on the 'my future trials' button at the bottom? Besides, I shouldnt worry too much, it might well prove to be a pile of the proverbial once it's running. I'll guess we'll just have to wait and see. |

errmmm.......now I think about it, yeah, I believe they do. Whether that extends to ALL the files I dunno, but I know I changed the icon pics once, all was ok until a reboot, and the old ones magically appeared. Kinda scr**s the pooch as far as my last post was concerned now doesnt it! |

About bloody time! Been so pi**ed off with the lack of positive press recognition that the SPV has(nt) received! I love the phone, so it's about time we had some more allies to spread the word! |

well the only way to find out is to try it. Of course there's the possibility of irreparable damage to your phone. Backing up the files to your pc is worth a shot, but who's to say that the phone will even boot up ( and allow for a sync connection) once the files have been removed. Your choice dude. :? |

Yeah I've mentioned this one b4. The really funny thing is that if u check out the html files, it looks like the developer was trying to order a pizza! |

Adding to my previous post.... I'm damn glad I'm rid of AOL now (except for hanging onto my email address), I've seen the light, and the grass is definately greener on the other side! Thanks mainy to Nildram, who ROCK btw! When I first got a modem I went for AOL cos I didnt know any better. But back then AOL were a lot smaller and it was really really good. Mainly because you could go into a chat room and have a decent conversation with someone your own age. I made a lot of friends on AOL back then, some of whom I still keep in touch with to this day. Now however, it's little more than a cattle market populated by sad 13 (going on 25) year olds with nothing better to talk about than shaggin or how fit Kim Marsh, or whoever is. S**t we do the latter at work so I'll give 'em that one! |

Try this on for size.....
I managed to get Lord of the Rings to fit on my 128mb card! One thing I did find out tho. The film takes up less space in one continuous file than it does when you break it down into chapters. Just a thought for future reference. |

Looks like I'm on the same wavelength as every1 else in this thread. I dont really use it that much, simply because I dont know many people that have MMS capable phones. Even if I did, i agree, it's a wee bit pricy. One of the only times I've wanted to use it is to make people jelous of where I am on holiday |

I've used aol since the year dot. Well, since '97 when I first got a modem. In that time I've never had any problems with them. Yeah, it's a pain that you have to use their software to connect, and the service can be a little slow at times.
However, I've recently moved over to ADSL with Nildram, so dont really have much use for them. I've still got my account with them tho, but only the 'light user' thing....just cant bring myself to get rid of the email address I've had for all these years just yet |

I had the good old problem yesterday of the phone not actually showing that someone is calling me. The only way I know they've called is when the answerphone icon pops up. Damn annoying, especially as when i go to test it from my landline i get thru everytime! I must admit tho that this is the first time I've had this prob with the phone since I got it (Dec). |

I used to have this prob. It didnt matter how I copied over the files, be it one at a time, in batches, or all at once. Somehow they'd all play in the wrong order.
The only way I've found to fix this issue is as follows.... Goto the orange developer site http://www.developers.orange.com/home/ unlock your SPV from there, and then use WMP9 on your pc to copy the files over to your phone. Worked everytime for me so far, and a damn site easier than having to move the files once they're copied over. |
