Hmm wierd. If you can get the IMSI from the UI it should work at startup as well. Do you have other applications in startup? Anyway, a new release of SEF is underway that should support more devices. |

Fightersoft Multimedia presents the new interface between Google Earth and the Mobile Tracking System server. Read all about it from here. We have also integrated in the MTS server a new feature: if your device is not compatible with MTS on the GSM part (you can't get a cellid when you press Refresh) then you can set it to GSM tracking disabled from the hardware window. If you have a GPS receiver then MTS will look through the database and try to match the closest GSM tower based on the coordinates you sent and thus having a detailed text location report like any other regular MTS user. You don't need to upgrade your MTS client to use these features. |

MTS is a hybrid software - it utilises the two means of locating a handset - via the GSM network and by GPS. MTS also supports messaging features (text, mms and e-mail + attachements). To directly answer your question, after the DB is populated in your area and someone uses MTS with a GPS receiver attached, then you (without a GPS receiver) can see your approximate location on the map. |

Let's see who will take the GPS receivers away from us! |

Fightersoft Multimedia PROUDLY announces the release of Mobile Tracking System 1.30 for Windows Mobile! This update celebrates one year of MTS! You can consult the supported devices here - http://www.fightersoft.ro/mts/index.htm (should be most of the WM devices and every S60 2nd edition Symbian phones - 3rd edition will follow in a few days). Also any java phone is supported however the self tracking feature will not work (you can only track Windows Mobile or Symbian users but you have full messaging support). Now, that MTS has reached a measure of maturity we wanted to do something special for our users - to that end we started a series of contests with prizes ranging from GPS receivers to the latest models of pocket pcs. In the first MTS contest we had thrown in 3 Bluetooth GPS receivers! The contest will start Monday 19th March 2007 and will last approximately two weeks - until 2nd April 2007. The prizes will be given in regards to the points gathered by the MTS users. The first 3 users that reach 25000 points will win. Please read the entire contest rules at http://www.fightersoft.ro/mts/contest1.htm Next I will make a small review of what's new in this update because the full changes log is simply to large (this is the biggest update ever): - 6 icons that will turn on or off depending on your location - http://www.fightersoft.ro/mts/mts130.JPG - from left to right: new messages, a friend is in the area, the location has a picture, the location has public transport available, the location has sign posts, the location is covered on the map by GPS - synchronizing the date and time of the phone/ppc with the MTS server's date and time (useful for devices that reset the date and time when the battery is unplugged) - the scoring system - full integration with Mobileshare ( http://share.mtsmobile.ro ) - many many more - the full changes log can be found here at http://www.fightersoft.ro/updates/mts.htm I hope you like what we prepared for you. You have until Monday to tune the engines for the contest and to get used to the scoring system. Monday, the event score will be reset to 0 and on the 2nd of April we will see who reaches first 25000 points. Like usual, I wait your feedback. |

I have the same problem with my Orange SPV C600. The phone connects just fine to the computer, I can browse files and all, but I can't use the PC's internet. In Windows Mobile Device Center I only get "Device Connected". There are no options similar to these - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/_as...C/WMDC-Home.jpg . This what I get: http://193.93.142.95:90/mobileshare/share/...ate/vistawm.jpg |

If no phonmodel works from (Options - Settings - Phonemodel), then choose COM Port (specify below) and try using different ports starting with COM9. When using COM ports different than COM9, please make sure that you are not connected to GPRS (make sure that you don't see a G near the signal strength). |

Regarding the memory approach things are more difficult because this is not just a matter of finding a memory address that varies from device to device. Unfortunatly the structure differs also from model to model. In other words, we can make a repository of memory addresses and structures and then map them to every model. However, this will take an ennourmeous amount of time and the developer must have the device in hand to do this. Another issue is that for some reasons, I wasn't able to use this approach on devices such as Motorola MPX 220 - my point is that this approach may not always work. Ok... let's recap... does anyone knows a way of getting the cellid except by reading memory addresses and COM ports? |

And my code wont work on TyTn whatever I do to it. It is extremly difficult at this point to make a unified dll with all this info to work on all WM devices. In regards to CF 2.0 - there is no need because usually these kind of programs are using native code because of the .NET's limitations. And furthermore, CF 2.0 only adds a few things such as outlook synch, picture picker, contact picker and so on. Futhermore, using CF 2.0 will delete from the supported list the WM2003 smartphones (and a great number of users use C500 - about 35% of my users are using SPV C500 smartphones). To make this the way we all want it, we must find the place where the OS interacts with the GSM processor because I reckon the OS must be aware on some level or another of this information... and it must be in the same place for all devices since it depends on the OS. Unfortunatly, until now, nobody found this "place". |

I have participated at a Microsoft and Orange webinar about WM 5.0 and .NET CF2.0. At the moment there is no API in either managed (.NET) or native (C++) that can currently get this kind of information (that we already know). I am the developer of Mobile Tracking System ( http://www.fightersoft.ro/mts/index.htm ) and my research so far has shown me that at the moment there is no standardized way to get this information because all the different ROMs out there. You have to hunt for the cellid in the phone's memory and this is a major PITA. Another approach is to use the COM ports but this has it's flaws (although a broad range of devices support it) - one major flaw is the fact that the device must disconnect from GPRS when getting the cellid (by cellid I mean LAC+CID). I am really excited about this challenge - I really hope that someone could make a standardized component that will work with every WM device (past, present and future). |

I am sorry for the late reply. On 29th December there was an ISP related problem. I would also like to take this opportunity to announce the first MTS release for the Symbian platform - S60 2nd edition to be exact. Visit http://www.fightersoft.ro/mts/index.htm for more info. |

Mobile Tracking System 1.24 has been released! This update paves the road for unparalleled location based services due to the huge server side optimizations and upgrades. The new STAR services (the engine codename) are: # Location History. From now on you can see the full history of naming a location right down to the weekdays and hours of when the cell was first found or edited. You will also be able to see the various changing in names and of course the user that made each change. # Location Traffic. You can see all the users that passed through that particular area on a timeframe of months. This feature also helps you know if any of your friends are in the same area as you. # Sign Posts. This feature is similar to a web based discussion forum. You can post messages for everyone that passes through this location to see. And this is not all! You can also UPLOAD pictures capturing extraordinary events from that location. And this is only the beginning. Much more services are on the developing line. Stay tuned. http://www.fightersoft.ro/mts/index.htm ![]() |

Version: 1.23 Released: 17th December 2006 - added the reminder feature - added the soft reset feature - when adding my current location (in the write message window) now the datetime stamp is also added http://www.fightersoft.ro/updates/mts.htm The reminder feature works like this: in the cell description field insert the location where you want to be notified (it is not case sensitive and you don't have to write the whole word... for example for the Lincoln street write only "linc" or "lincoln"). The reminder text field is optional. If you fill it, you will also receive a text notification text at the same time that an audio notification is played. If you leave it empty you will only hear the audio notification. This feature is available offline as well. I said that this should be the last time I forgot to buy coke when coming from downtown so I took some measures. |

There is no reason to enter it manually because the program will not automatically detect a SIM change therefore it will defeat the purpose. Hopefuly I will be able to implement support for your device soon. I am sorry that this version doesn't work for you. |

I am not sure. By the way, when you try to get the IMSI, make sure that you are not connected to gprs (look for the G at the signal strength). |

Now Mobile Tracking System is available on the J2ME (MIDP 1.0 and 2.0) as well. Before you ask, no, this application can't get the current location, but it implements the rest of the basic MTS functions such as other users tracking, text messages and e-mail messages. More info - http://www.fightersoft.ro/mts/index.htm To get to the basics: MTS can transform any GPRS and Java enabeled phone in a powerfull, limitless communication device even using the wap APN. You can send and receive an unlimited number of messages to and from another MTS user. You can send and receive an unlimited number of e-mail messages to and from any e-mail address. No charge except GPRS traffic (few bytes per transaction). |
